She was super responsive and helpful before our session. The hair and makeup looked amazing as I got out of the chair. I tipped generously for a job well done. I was happy as I left the salon. Everything was all good here. I took off three stars because: 1) Within a day, it was clear the braid-down was too tight. It gave me terrible headaches and an outbreak of tension bumps on my hair line (photo). I was taking Tylenol multiple times a day for a week. 2) I texted to let the owner know I was having issues, and she didn't get back to me at all. When I didn't hear from her, I took the install down myself. It hurt that badly. 3) When I followed up with her again a day or two later, the owner denied that anything was wrong with the install. She blamed my week of headaches and rash of tension bumps on me being "tender-headed". The tone of the message was snarky and defensive. In sum, her fees for the lace wig install are high ($435) and I tipped her well for how good the final look was. Later, when I had an issue with my install as a result of overly tight braids/sew-in and asked for help, she made it seem like it was my fault. That felt terrible. Despite paying over $500 to get my hair done, I was very disappointed by the lack of professionalism and customer service that was demonstrated in my case. It's not normal to have splitting headaches and rash of tension bumps after a wig install. To be told otherwise is just nonsense. REPLY TO OWNER'S RESPONSE 1) Caprice wasn't going above and beyond to by "allowing me" to come in one day after the wig install for a makeup session. She had an opening on her calendar. I wanted a bridal glam consultation. We discussed it. We booked it. A plain and simple standard service for any client 2) Caprice didn't give me a middle part when I saw her the second day. I had already given myself a middle part. But yes, Caprice helped flatten it to lay down. And yes, Caprice also recurled my hair. 3) When I saw the owner the day after the install for the makeup appointment, I didn't mention headaches because I expected some pain and discomfort immediately after a wig installation. At that time, I was taking Tylenol and waiting for it to fade. What I didn't think was reasonable - was for the pain to continue unabated for 5+ days. I also didn't expect to be ghosted for multiple days after I reached out with my concern. Further, there's photo evidence of tension bumps on my hairline. Those are never supposed to happen. You don't get a tension bumps rash from being "tenderheaded". That's a result of an irritated scalp after overly tight braiding. This is how you get traction alopecia. 4) We didn't try multiple hair styles. We discussed the possibility of seeing multiple looks, but ended up only trialing one: curled hair cascading down the shoulders. 5) The experience wasn't all bad, which is why this review is 2 stars - instead of less. Before the appointment, Caprice spent a significant amount of time answering my questions and consulting with me about the hair and getting the wig bleached and plucked. During the install, we had a nice time chatting. The hair and makeup looked stunning. After the install, she gave me advice via text on what products to use. Throughout all this, she was friendly and very responsive. I tipped her 18-20% on the services, paying over $600 in total for hair and makeup. Though expensive, I considered this a worthwhile investment in my bridal consultation process. I assumed (wrongly) that her premium prices would mean that she would be committed to customer satisfaction as part of her brand. 6) My negative experience began when I complained about the headaches and wig discomfort - Caprice did a complete 180 on me. This was totally unexpected, given the prior interactions. She disappeared from text until I chased her down, and she was defensive and dismissive of my complaint - a complaint that was about being in pain - not that something was wrong with the look itself. I've always said the look was great. This complaint was about hair health. As such, I was hoping for a more sympathetic response, and for her to demonstrate that she cared. To not see that has been incredibly disappointing.

Amazing experience…read more I have 4c hair that has been thinning with my previous stylist who I had been going to for the past couple of years. I noticed I was having white bulbs after box braids and she told me that this was normal. Embarrassingly, it took me 2+ years to realize that her technique was pulling my hair out. I have thinning ALL OVER. I left my hair alone for about 4 months and then researched some stylists and came across My at Just Vanity Salon. I booked a wash, blow dry, and two feed in braids. I arrived and her colleague, Dominique, was there with a client doing what I believe is called K-tips and she was so kind and just told me to have a seat until My came in. My arrived and greeted me in a kind manner. She immediately washed my hair, blew dried it, and went in to braid. When I tell you I was SHOCKED that I wasn't in pain and she wasn't pulling my hair out during braiding. I didn't know this was possible because my old stylist told me the pain, and her pulling my hair out until the white bulbs appeared was "normal hair shedding". My also took the time to give me some tips as well once I let her know I was open to any advice because I am not the best at taking care of my own hair. The braids looked great at the end and My was STILL able to make it look cute in spite of my thinning edges and hair in general. Overall, this was an amazing salon experience and I cannot wait to see her again. If you are unsure about booking with either of them, please take this review as a sign that you should JUST DO IT! BOOK EM! You will not be disappointed.

I found their salon on Yelp, I sent a message. Dominique messaged me back within 10 minutes. Took down all the information: style details picture of my daughter's hair and an inspo pic. She then let me know that one of her stylists would be in contact. Within 20 minutes I was in contact with My, the artist that took care of my daughter. My went above and beyond by taking us on such short notice and working aroind mu schedule.They were so welcoming. My daughter felt comfortable instantly we both did. As for the quality of work... We love it. It's turned out so beautiful. Didn't hurt my daughter's head at all. My showed us how to wrap her hair to extend the life of the braids. Everybody stops and compliments her hair. I've gotten cuts, color, highlights, keratin treatments, and extensions (both hand-tied and tapes) from Analise and am satisfied every time. She's successfully taken me blonde, red, and back to dark brunette (my natural color) And listen: I don't have naturally great hair. My hair is fine and even thinning in some areas but Analise has gotten it to a place where I have the ILLUSION of great hair (see review photos). Her "lived-in color" approach also means I can go a looooong time between sessions without it looking weird and grown out. It just looks totally natural. I've probably spent about 100 hours in Analise's chair. When I was looking for a new stylist, it was very important to me that I connected well with whomever was going to do my hair because when you do keratin and extensions semi-regularly, you know those are going to be flipping long sessions. For starters, to get extensions installed is an investment but it is completely worth it. Her salon is super cute and very relaxing, she is also welcoming and it is obvious that she is passionate about what she does (the plus side is that she's really good at what she does). She's talented, and worked a miracle on my hair. The hair she recommends is amazing quality, I can style it dye it, wash it. It feels like my own hair which is super comforting. The first couple days are usually the days you have the most discomfort but I didn't feel anything, my head did feel a little heavier but nothing hurt. My head wasn't sore at all and I slept perfectly fine. Showering was a little tricky because I wasn't used to such long and thick hair but it didn't bother me. She recommended a leave in conditioner which is a MUST to help keep the hair in its silky condition. I had sooo many people ask me how I grew my hair out so fast, and I had to tell them they were extensions. Everything blended so nicely, felt so real. I wore my hair straight, curly, in a high pony, and braids and nothing tugged or pulled everything looked 100% NATURAL! My second visit was in the beginning of august to get my extensions removed. After months of washing, blow drying, styling, and dying my hair; my hair still felt smooth and looked glossy just like the first day I had them installed. I LOVED them! I loved waking up every morning with super long amazing luscious hair! I would definitely get extensions installed again with Ashleigh, it is pricy but it's worth every penny!
