Got carry out after calling ahead. Super easy process to pick up. Very self explanatory and good at social distancing! Picked up for my mom and aunt for an early Mother's Day meal. The food was amazing. One of the best crab bisques I had. Thicker consistency then maybe I am use to but the flavor was on point. And good lumps of crab meat. We got the a crab bomb. Salivating just thinking about Jerry's. The experience is always nothing less than sensational. My husband and I came one night 10 minutes before they closed and they welcomed us with open arms. Food was fresh and hot & we weren't rushed at all. We always order the crab bisque. Love how it is a bit sweet and has the perfect amount of crab in it. You don't even need the crackers. It got devoured in 1 minute, flat. A lot of people like the crab bomb but my favorite is and will always be the jumbo shrimp. Ugh I am salivating just thinking about them. I visited Jerry's today to celebrate Mother's Day for my wife and a few of my family members. We excitedly reserved the Captain's Quarters. Our waiter, Isaiah, was top notch and we had a great experience until we were informed that we had to pay a penalty for being short of 8 people. When we booked, we were going to have over 8 people but life is never perfect so we ended up falling short of the 8 people. I went back to read the details of the reservation and made the decision to move forward with our booking because it said that it would cost [$75 per person for any party that shows up with less than eight people]. I told the folks who were coming that they would just have to make sure they spend $75 per person if they decided to come so that we adhered to the reservation policy. I knew that even if we cancelled, the $100 Room Fee was non-refundable and would not go towards our final bill. That was clearly stated. So I didn't want to waste the opportunity especially because everyone agreed that they could pay the [$75 per person for any party that shows up with less than eight people]. I didn't want to ruin our nicely planned Mother's Day dinner. However, the fine print did not say that we had to pay $75 for every person that was not there up to 8 people. It reads as quoted: Join us in the Captain's Quarters for a private dining room experience! This is order off the menu private dining room with a two hour time slot. It is very important to be on time to enjoy the full Jerry's experience with us. ($75 per person for any party that shows up with less than eight people) Reservation for parties of 8 to 12 $100 Room Fee (Non-refundable, this will not go towards your final bill) I have also attached a screenshot for reference. I told Isaiah about it and showed him the exact same verbiage as above. He immediately referred the issue to a supervisor. It was a valid point and I thought that this was something I could easily show to the managers and get everything settled, however, they did not think their customer's concern was remotely significant. The first manager was Edwina H. She came to us bright and seemingly concerned but she said that she disagreed with me about why I should not be charged $75 per person for the individuals who did not show up for the reservation. She said that this was a contract and that their policy was strict. She said there was nothing she could do about it. I explained in detail that I was not trying to abuse the system and that if the details were clear I would not have moved forward with dinner tonight. We could have ate in the open area if that was the case. I asked her since she didn't have the power to make the change is there anyone else I could talk to regarding the vagueness of the reservation policy. She told me she would send someone else that could help. That person was Kelly S. He came in with a straight face. When I showed him online what the reservation details said regarding being a party under 8 people, he had no care in the world about what was coming out of my mouth. He said he's not going to tell me anything different than what the first manager said. He didn't read it himself to see if it could be misconstrued or anything. He was just the hammer to bang down the nails that stuck out. He told me that I could use Yelp or Facebook for my review. I asked to speak to the owners and he said he could take down my number to give to Phillip and Jason (hopefully the owners) and they could give me a call but as far as he was concerned the charge was the charge and there was nothing that he or anybody could do about it because it was policy. Needless to say I was very disappointed and sad honestly because even the managers at this seemingly great establishment had no care to thoroughly review my concern, connect with me, or keep me as a customer. I've driven past this gem in Bowie way too many times without stopping, but once I stopped, it quickly became one of my favs! I've been to this amazing seafood restaurant on several occasions, which baffles me as to why I haven't stopped to give my RAVE review! For starters, the cocktail menu is very extensive and they are always very tasty! They will even blend up a nice frozen (yeah I know I already said blend) flavored margarita !! Regular, Mango, and Strawberry are the flavors I've tried and they are yummy and strong! On to the food...the crap dip is so rich, creamy and meaty! They certainly don't skimp on the amount of lump crab in the dip! The cream of crab is one of the best in the area. Sooooo flavorful/seasoned just right. Also chocked full of lump crab meat. Soooo yeah, Jerry's fell off! Me and a friend went and once we were seated the waitress placed the menu down and I saw this paragraph and I'm thinking oh must be a welcome note....NOPE! It basically said due to inflation they raised their price! And boy oh boy did they. I ordered the Spice Shrimp as an app and my guest orders the crab soup. The "spice shrimp" were bland. It taste as if it were boiled in water then old bay sprinkled on top. I ordered the catfish with green beans and a side of garlic seared scallops. The catfish was fresh and fried hard but bland. The green beans were good. The scallops ($23) were undercooked!! I went home and re-seared my $23 scallops and they were good!!! Lol Definitely NOT worth my $70!!! Ok, We"re here at Jerry's Seafood in Bowie. Received our menus and placed our order. Now I'm sure many of you have been patrons of this establishment food is good and prices are high. I notice a lot of things when I'm sitting still. What I've noticed here. The servers are dressed in black which I believe is their uniform. Then I noticed the lady who seated us, I'm not sure if she is a fill in or works here. She has on a bleached washed jean shirt with some leggings and old crocs. Just a disclaimer. I'm from the Midwest so I am by no means an expert of seafood but this stuff consistently tastes fresh and delicious. We ordered and paid online and then waited outside of the tent the set up on the side of the restaurant. We got a bunch of stuff and ate it family style. I recommend throwing everything in the oven for 5-10 min to reheat when you get home. The crab bombs are very good and definitely live up to the hype. The shrimp and calamari were fresh and crispy even though it was almost 40 min by the time we got home and ate them. I wasn't crazy about the breading/seasoning on the catfish so that is the only thing I probably would skip next time. At the end of our dinner there were no leftovers so I think that speaks for itself. One less star because I feel like the interior of restaurant could use a little updating. read more

It was amazing and full of large lumps of crab meat no filler. I also ordered crab dip (forgot to take pictures). It originally caught me off guard because the Philadelphia cream cheese was so heavy and had a strong taste. However, I dressed it up with some old bay seasoning and it tasted much better. The food is not bad but for the elevated price you pay here I was expecting more. The food was not bad at all but there are many places that serve food as good and even better at more acceptable price. That is my opinion. I had this place bookmarked for a minute and decided to try it out on a recent trip back to Maryland. Very nice and clean restaurant located not too far from the Bowie Town Center. I went with a crab cake on this day. You do have a choice of two sides and I went with the green beans and a baked potato. All of it was good but I do think $24 for this lunch entrée is a bit steep. I do realize that getting crab meat is time consuming but still. The crab cake was good and you have a choice of getting it fried or baked. I went with it baked and it did not come out dry. The potato was a good sized accompanied with sour cream and butter. Service was very good and even though it was a bit crowded at lunchtime the server never ignored any of her customers. I wish I could remember her name because she brought out a small sample of the coleslaw to sample. We know all coleslaws are not created equal. It is a bit of a toss-up for me. I don't see myself going there anytime soon. Especially since I am in another state now but I would recommend this place to someone else. read more

There are several different versions of the crab bomb on the menu, but the bomb is the OG. The fisherman's platter is a nice alternative if you are in the mood for anything other than a crab bomb. CALLING ALL CRAB CAKE LOVERS! If you love jumbo lump crab and crab cake with zero filler, Jerry's is the restaurant for you! My parents and I dined here for my dad's birthday. We around around 4:45pm on a Saturday. The restaurant was packed. We were told there was a 25 minute wait - no big deal. The wait is usually an 1-1.5 hours. The hostess asks for a cell phone number to text us when our table was ready. They initially send you a text with your estimated wait time and a link to a waitlist where you can see where you are on the list. The waitlist also shows you the other parties that are waiting (just by the first letter of the name you give them - doesn't show the full name), how many people are in the party, and how long they've been waiting. We only waited 8 minutes for a table. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant on the right hand side, right in front of the kitchen entrance. Renee B was our server. She came over immediately, took our drink order, and gave us bread and butter. The bread rolls were huge. They were fresh and piping hot. We started out of the Fresh Crab Dip appetizer (jumbo lump crab, chives, Old Bay) with sliced baguettes. It was everything a crab dip should be: hot, creamy, and full of lump crab. Our server told us the dip was cream cheese, a little bit of may, old bay, and cream of mushroom mixed together. To say the dip was delicious would be an understatement. The baguettes were toasted perfectly. Sometimes when you order dips at restaurants, the bread is hard as a brick and cuts up your mouth. No ma'am, not here! The crust was firm and crunchy, and the middle was soft. My mom ordered the Baby Bomb Crab Cake (6 ounces) with a baked potato and house salad with bleu cheese for her two sides. She enjoyed the baby bomb. It was delicious. The potato was hot and she had plenty of butter and sour cream. She also enjoyed her salad. The greens were fresh. The salads are quite filling! My dad ordered the Crab Bomb (10 ounces) with lightly seasoned wedge cut fries and a house salad as his two sides. He loved every bite! He could only eat half because it was so huge. The bomb was all jumbo lump crab, no filler; exactly what a crab cake should be! He loved the fries and his salad. I ordered the Fresh Scallops (pan seared in garlic butter) with lightly seasoned wedge cut fries and a house salad with bleu cheese as my two sides. I had 12 scallops to an order and they were decent sized. The scallops could have been a bit hotter. I couldn't really taste the garlic butter it was seared in. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The fries were hot and crispy. I loved the homemade bleu cheese dressing for the salad. It was pretty much huge chunks of bleu cheese. The greens in the salad were fresh, as were the cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and carrots. Our server, Renee B, was great! She was friendly and attentive and always checked in with us. I asked for veggies without oil but was told that the veggies come prepackaged. Also, the door to the restroom was super heavy and I was on crutches. Trying to maneuver to get in was very difficult. This was my second time here and it was definitely worth the wait. The wait time was about 30-45 minutes, I received a text once our table was ready. We ordered fried shrimp as an appetizer, the breading was light and tasty. The appetizer only came with seven large shrimp wish we had a little bit more though. As our main course we ordered their famous crab bomb with fries, salad, and a baked potato. The salad was not as great as I had before, it came with lettuce, carrots, and cucumbers. It was lacking onions and croutons we advised the waitress to omit the tomatoes. Jerry's is also know for their amazing homemade salad dressing, we ordered the blue cheese dressing and it was disgusting. It tasted like blue cheese mixed with mayo with no seasoning. They forgot the rest of the ingredients and may have been rushing. The crab bombs were amazing, there were chunks of crab meat and the seasoning didn't over power the crab taste. My boyfriend said this was the best crab cake he's had. We are both originally from Baltimore, so we know good crab cakes. The baked potato came with butter and sour cream and the fries my boyfriend had were good. I was bad and I ordered a slice of humming bird cake which was delicious!!! I ordered it to go and let me just say I wanted another slice. It was moist and the cream cheese icing was not too sweet.
