I've been here a few times and every time was wonderful. Joe and Joe are kind, considerate, they know what they're doing, and they really care about you and the best quality of care. Once when I had a flat tire, I took my van into the shop, they got me a new tire, and suggested where I could get it done cheaper because they said they had to order the tire versus other places that wouldn't need to charge me for ordering the tire. I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Joe and his service guy (didn't get his name!), who came to my rescue the past Saturday. I was waiting for my daughter to finish her SAT test in Glenview South High school parking lot when my car battery went dead. It was past noon. The road assistance from my insurance company couldn't arrive within 30 minutes, and I needed to get to somewhere by 1:30p.m.. Out of desperation, I called a few car service shops in Glenview, and JERS Auto was one of them. Although it was close to the shop close time, Joe didn't hesitate to offer his help.He sent one of his service guys in 10 minutes to jump start my car for free, and get me on my way. @Joe, your kind deed will go a long way. I recently went to get an oil change at National tire and battery (now mavis I guess). When I went to pick up my car they told me there was an issue with my upper control arm and it needed to be replaced. They quoted me over $600 to fix the issue. When I called Joe he told me that since I have an Acura it's possible to just replace the ball joint on the control arm instead of replacing the whole thing. When I called NTB back and asked them they said this wasn't possible, and when I pushed the issue he put the phone down without putting me on hold and I heard the mechanic tell the guy who was on the phone with me that it was possible but it was a pain in the ass and not worth it for the money. The next day I took my car into JERS and he repaired the issue for under $200. He also removed the rust and painted over a small dent I had at no charge so that the rust didn't travel and compromise any more of the car. Its funny how I go in there for a simple oil change and drive away with problems. They call me into their shop from the office and have all my wheels off. They point out how one of my brake pads is making contact with rotor. They offer to take care of it for me... Funny how I never had any problems with my brakes. I drive away and suddenly my brakes are grinding and my car is pulling to the right. Coincidence? Wouldn't that just be amazing if my brakes suddenly start grinding right after they point out I am about to have a problem. read more

Joe and his employees are excellent at their jobs. This is the best and most reliable mechanic in the area. They are extremely fair in pricing and always take the time to explain the issues I may be having. My car is always repaired in a timely manner and ready when promised. I cannot tell you how wonderful this place is. Costs to repair my car at Volvo dealerships as well as oil changes were generaly twice as much and often came with additional recommendations for seemingly unnecessary repairs. Joe offers great advice on whether or not to have specific work done and is trustworthy. My entire family and three of my friends and their families have now become repeat customers because of the excellent work they all received at JERS. read more

After the dealership found several large issues (brakes, wheel bearings, rear shocks, front axle) on an inspection of my 120,000-mile Audi, I took it to JERS upon a recommendation of a friend. Joe S. took my car for a short drive, did a free inspection and walked me through the dealership findings while the car was on the lift so I could see the issues myself. Although all the dealership findings were true, Joe S. walked me through each defect and let me know that none of them were safety issues (the dealership did not) and which he thought were the highest priority to address. Joe S asked me how long I planned to keep the car to help me determine which repairs (if any) should be done and gave me a quote on the spot and explained which of the repairs required the use of Audi parts and which repairs could use Aftermarket. There was no pressure at all to do any work. A week later I met with Joe C and we aligned around the repairs to be done and scheduled the visit. Joe C informed me that they would do a more extensive inspection of the car prior to initiating the work to make sure there were no other significant issues. Joe and Joe completed the repairs I had requested and also checked the fluids and changed the oil. I plan to continue to use JERS going forward. Thanks Joe and Joe. read more

It's not easy to find right auto repair shop, specially close to your house. I hope finally I found the shop. They have done a few repairs on my car and here is what I think about this shop. First of all the mechanic did not push to do any unnecessary repair. Second, I have checked my car in couple other auto shops in the same area before to take my car here and I was surprised that cost of repair was very reasonable. Third, the repair was done on time as promised. Forth, they diagnosed the problem at ho charge. Fifth, Joe (mechanic) showed me replaced part and explained what was wrong with this part. And finally the shop located so close to the Metra, which is very convenient for people who work in downtown. You can drop your car and walk to the Metra station. I trust this auto repair shop and highly recommend it to every one. read more

I trust these guys with my eyes shut!!! But they're not only honest and knowledgeable, they're pleasant, and always there to help!!! While SO MANY car repair shops are trying to find "issues" that need "immediate" repair (you go for an oil change and the guy tells you your car needs $1,000 worth of BS work...) ---- Joe's style is the exact opposite, "don't worry, it's working fine" or "we'll check it again on your next oil change."
