I emailed m1servicerequest@gmail.com and got a response within 5 min. Met with JASON the next day and he told me the sensor was being sensitive and break pads looked good. He could have easily just taken my money but these guys are HONEST and knowledgable. After talking with Jason, I found out they've been in business 25 years. If you have an VW/Audi, instead of paying 40-50% more per hour at a dealership, bring your car to Mobile One. The work will be at least as good, probably better than the dealership, and that goes doubly so for older cars. Unlike a lot of mechanics, Jason will tell you his straight, honest opinion of what your car needs, and what it will cost you. If he doesn't know off-hand, he'll find out and keep you informed. I've been going there every since I got my 05 MINI S. I won't go on and on but they are a great, fair price kind of place. I've had MAJOR work done here (engine swap and head replacement) and they are great about fixing little issues related to the work they do, even if they didn't really cause the issue to begin with. Hard to explain but basically I'm saying they don't nickel and dime you. Only downsides (MINOR) is that they sometimes are busy and can't get you in and that they don't have a receptionist so sometimes you may leave a message and have to wait a bit for a callback. I mean honestly, when you think about how hard it is to find a down to earth, knowledgeable mechanic who won't screw you, you put up with whatever minor inconveniences come along with it. read more

When I got there for the first time, I had a little trouble finding the place but figured it must have been the one with the Red Audi A3 (S3?) jumping around the lot in front of it. He greeted me, I complimented the car, and he told me it "only had 700 hp." Lol. From there it was all great. We talked VWs and chatted about other things while he performed a Unitronic ECU upgrade on my MK7 GTI. Anyway, car is running amazingly (and wow! so quick!) and I plan to take my beloved machine there for future mods and maintenance scheduling. I can honestly say, i would not take my car anywhere else besides here. Not only did he take my car in last minute on a busy week, he fixed it pretty quickly. Jason is one of the smartest mechanics I have ever met. I learned so many things about my car just being around him for few minutes. If you are looking for a shop that knows the Audi B5 S4 platform (or any late model Audi for that matter), look no further. Jason is a guru who truly knows what he's doing. I brought him my pretty heavily modded S4 without disclosing a whole lot of the car's history and, within a couple hours Jason had not only diagnosed the suspension issue I originally brought it in for, he had figured out the ins and outs of the car, gave me a laundry list of other maintenance issues that should be addressed (most of them I was already aware of and could confirm Jason's diagnosis - he even caught things other shops didn't), and he even clued me in to some untapped potential of my car due to overly conservative software. Jason spent time talking me through every single step of his thought process and he charged me quite a bit less than he should have for both parts and labor. In short, both the customer service and the actual automotive service were beyond compare and the price was on the low end - I can't wait to take Jason up on his suggested upgrades on my S4. A dealership mechanic may be more local, sure, but they will charge you $40 more per hour and prob rip you off. I recently went to a shop for a general inspection. The lead mechanic told me that I needed a whole new engine and gave me an estimate of $6200. I knew right away I was being scammed. I took my car to Mobile One the very same day. Jason informed me that I did not need a new engine and I only needed a new vacuum pump. I payed a fraction of what the other shop estimated. I have never written a review on any service I have received over my very long life. However, my experience with the owner, Jason and his mechanics, was such that I find I must share my experience with anyone looking for an auto mechanic. They did extensive work on my 12 year old BMW with extreme care, knowledge, concern and a genuine objective to treat me fairly and to my satisfaction. The best example I could give as to their integrity, was the fact that among other things, I thought I needed new brake pads on the front wheels. During the course of their work they determined that new brake pads were not needed and so informed me that I need not invest in the brakes at this time. What a pleasant surprise not only as to the fact that new brake pads were not needed, but more importantly that they passed on the opportunity to earn more money on the job. A very fair price, excellent workmanship, superb customer service, honesty and a true concern for what is in the best interest of the customer. That to me, describes Mobile One. Got an oil change and Unitronic tune done for my MK6 GTI. Jason was easy to talk to and get a hold of. For those not familiar with tuning a MK6 GTI, the ECU has to be pulled, opened, messed around with, then sealed back up to protect it from the elements. So picking the right shop to do it is important. Otherwise it's a $1,000+ burden. Pricing is fair, their reputation in the VW community is great, couldn't be happier with the results! Will be coming back for out of warranty work on both of our VWs and possibly/hopefully some more upgrades to my GTI. Only reason for 4 stars, not open on Saturday's. So making trips to this shop would require time off work, which doesn't bug me too much. But somewhat of an inconvenience I'm willing to deal with, to go back there. read more

If you know nothing about cars and just have money to flush down the toilet, then this is the place for you. I have never been to a mechanic that charges you just to look at your car and tell you what's wrong withit. So that was $110 right there. He also fixed problem A (for now). On to problem B. That was $250. Except the problem was a faulty lightbulb. So that was $250 down the toilet. On top of that, he charged me for a new lightbulb when he shouldn't have considering he failed to diagnose the faulty lightbulb in the first place (that's what a thorough job he does). So that was another $50. And then I get home and realize that problem A is back, so he never really fixed anything. All in all, what I needed was a lightbulb replacement. And that cost me over $400. Honestly, all these reviews must be friends and family. I youtubed some videos and fixed the problem myself. I still feel sick to my stomach just thinking about the whole situation, but that's what mechanics do best, is take advantage of people! read more

Yes, as good as it gets. You know the feeling when you find a guy who you wish you knew a long time ago? The one where the thought of moving to a different town suddenly gives you pause because that guy isn't in that town? Such is the experience with Jason at Mobile One. He worked on my 1995 Audi S6 for the past couple of weeks, diagnosing several separate and complicated issues that were keeping it from performing as it should. He took lots of time to explain what he was finding along the way, even asking me to come up and spend an hour with him midstream to understand what he was finding. He showed me videos of the tests he ran, explaining the results and generally educating me on my own car. He clearly knows his stuff and has a real love for the work that he does. He installed several new performance parts and the car runs like new. And bear in mind this is a 22 year old car. First class guy, first class service, first class results. I've been taking my 1990 Jetta to Jason at Mobileone for about a year. First, some background: My car is a POS. It is over 20 years old, and I use it for a daily driver commuting car. It is my only car, so it is a necessary tool for my work life. I want to wring as many years and miles out of this car as I can. Mark 2 VWs are strange beasts. The electronic system is super touchy, and someone really needs to know what they are doing to troubleshoot them. Whenever I pull up to Mobileone, I see turbo 911s, super modified R32s, and other high end, European performance cars. Jason takes my minor repairs just as seriously as he does the high end beasts he works on, at prices cheaper than the in-city chop shops near where I live on the near south side. I have consistently been happily surprised by the quality of work and reasonable prices that I have been charged at Mobileone. In short: Odd car, necessary for commuting, looooong drive to get there. 100% worth it, and thanks to Jason for keeping me running. Amazing shop. read more
