Their cheese steak is really good! It's your classic cheesesteak, I imagine it's like the ones you can get in Philly. It's more similar to the cheese steak you can get at Delaware Subs than Hog Island if that helps. Not that I've had one of those, but it's gotta be pretty close. Yum!! Love these sandwiches! This place is becoming one of my favorite sandwich shops but I'm a sucker for the 'Italian' subs so this is right up my alley. It's a little pricey when compared to subway or jimmy johns. A regular sub runs you $7-8 and that's just for the sandwich. BUT the mini sandwich is so filling and is seriously enough food to feed one person. That's all I ever order now. They also slice their meat and cheese very thin and have yummy pickles! FRESH and FLAVORFUL - Jersey Mikes on West WIlliam Cannon is an OK sub sandwich shop. The meats and cheeses are fresh sliced right before your eyes and the slices are placed directly on the bread of your choice. Not to mention the friendly service, simple but inviting atmosphere, comfortable seating and healthy food handling practices. One of my first jobs as a kid was making fresh sub sandwiches in Boston. Jersey Mike's brings back that fresh cut, well packed submarine sandwich flavor. The manager of the shop at William Cannon is all about hospitality and customer satisfaction. On the downside, the breads are soft and lack a crust with character. Boring breads. The rueben sandwich was the worst I have tasted anywhere. Overloaded with dressing, soggy on the white bread. I am a HUGE fan of Jersey Mikes sandwiches from my time in college, and since this one opened up until about a year ago (when I realized I had a wheat sensitivity), I was going 2-3 times each week for lunch. I suspect that the employees behind the counter at any place you go to 2-3 times a week will remember your name and what you order, but I really enjoyed the crew, and chatting while they slopped a cup of mayonnaise on my sandwich without my having to stop and remind them that I don't take onions. I also appreciate the fact that the guy that owns/runs the place is ALWAYS there, making sandwiches on the line with the rest of them. Their bread is great, and the #9 club supreme (with mayo, bacon, oil and vinegar, of course) is probably what I miss most about not eating gluten-free. read more

Awesome club supreme. I switch from local favorite thundercloud subs to jersey mikes. I'm not cheap but before you slide your credit card it prompts you to tip 15, 18, or 20% tip before the total comes up. That's what I tip for a full service restaurant. I placed an order through the phone, and after 20 minutes my sub was not ready yet because they had given it to someone else. I placed the order through the phone because I was on my lunch break and though it would be ready by the time I got there. I'm a sub snob. I admit it. I'm from New York and I'm pretty picky. Subway stinks of course, I had hopes for Thundercloud when we moved here but they disappointed me. I wasn't expecting much from Jersey Mike's quite honestly but they delivered! I am really excited about this place. One of the key components of a great sub is the bread, it needs to be special. Their bread has a little extra something, a bit of chewiness, trust me, it's good. Then all of the meat is sliced right in front of you. And really one of the best touches is their blend of oil, vinegar and seasonings called "Mike's Way". Just get it. It's good. All of this adds up to an amazing sub, it doesn't taste like a sandwich you can make at home (like subway - boo) My only complaint - price. My husband and I have it down to a science now. We get one regular sub to go. We can split it and we eat at home with our own chips and pop. It's worth it. read more

I ate here for lunch today and I must say I was impressed. The sandwhich tasted very fresh and delicious. Definietly a cut above the rest and a far improved cry from chains like Subway! The service was great and quick. I had the The Original Italian with provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni. They didn't mind grilling themeat for me and toasting the bread. I was very pleased with the services and FRESH taste of my sandwich. I already told every one in the office to follow suit! I hope you do too! BUuuuuuurrrrrppp!!! Oh excuse me, but that was a compliment to the awesome subman at Jersey Mike's for making me an insanely delicious Chicken Chipotle Philly Cheesesteak. This is my first time eating at this location, and will say it holds up w/their north location off 183. Considering it was an hour before closing, I walked into Jersey Mikes and I was a lone customer, but not alone in spirit. Upon entering I was promptly greeted w/genuine friendly service, and was not hassled when asked to not put onions or peppers on the sandwich. Instead i asked if jalepenos could be included, and they were in a heartbeat. And being within an hour of closing time, they get bonus points for their ingredients being fresh. Before my eyes, I saw the guy slice & dice and cook the chicken, toast the bread, melt the cheese and include the spicy little green fellas (aka jalepenos). Normally I would have given it a 4 stars, but during the preparation of my heavenly meal, the employee (assuming he was the night mgr), asked if I had eaten there before. I said I had been to their north location, and instantly became a fan. Then he turned on his business smarts, by asking where I worked, which led into a conversation about their catering to help promote their business and new location. And the cool part, is that it didn't feel like he was "pushing" or forcing this information down my throat like a car salesman. Upon checking out, he got busy with another customer, but made a second or two to ensure he thanked me for being a customer and to enjoy my sandwich. Props for 100% friendly service. Moments later as I returned to work w/my sandwich, the aromas filled the air as I unwrapped the monster and saw the light shining down from the heavens. As Tara mentioned in her review, meat - bread ratio of great, and the cheese just continued to melt w/every bite down to licking the remains off my fingers. Personally, I am not a big sandwich person, at least not in comparison to Joey from Friends, but I'm definately loosening my belt to make room for further creations from Jersey Mikes!!!!! read more

This is the only Jersy Mike's I have been to, so I can't compare to other ones. But this is now my #1 cold sub establishment. Ingredients are fresh, meat and cheese is generous, and value is high. Oh, the brewed tea is always fresh. But, besides the great sandwich, what takes this place over the top, is the management/staff. I always get a feeling the manager (I assume that is him) who also works the line, cares to know his customers. I highly recommend. I always support a place with good food and good people. read more

I'm simply reviewing this location because the staff here is AWESOME. My sandwich was made with one half wheat bread and one half white bread and I had no idea. One of them noticed it and completely remade my sandwich for me, even though I would have totally eaten the other one (I was hungry!!). They even went through and cut new turkey and cheese and even heated it up again-awesome! The staff also went over to tables that were finished and cleaned up for them when they totally don't have to do that. They were super nice and friendly and struck up conversations with each customer and asked how our days were. Thank you Jersey Mike's William Cannon! I've been a steady customer for a while. This is the best sub place in Austin I've found. It's not the classic East Coast sub (the bread's wrong, for one thing, and the selection has been tainted a bit by California heresies), but you get something pretty close. The staff is good and the place is usually very busy (they also have a catering business). Sometimes this leads to mistakes, but if you point it out, they rectify it cheerfully and immediately. read more
