It's right on the way to my yoga studio, so it's perfect for a quick in-and-out lunch, but honestly, it's also the kind of place where you end up lingering longer than planned. My usual order is the ABLT on rye with Boar's Head applewood smoked bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Simple, fresh, and consistently delicious every single time. I almost always pair it with the Spinach Bacon salad loaded with spinach, cranberries, goat cheese, tomatoes, toasted pecans, and brown sugar peppered bacon. The portions are huge and definitely shareable. What makes Rhino special is that it's more than just a deli. It's part neighborhood market, part coffee shop, part beer and wine stop, and part community hangout. They've got local products, grab-and-go snacks, fresh sandwiches, beer on tap, wine, outdoor patio seating, and sometimes even live music. It reminds me of the small independent spots I used to love in the Bay Area around Burlingame, San Mateo, and Palo Alto. Relaxed, local, welcoming, and full of personality. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere feels genuinely Charlotte. Not overly polished. Not trying too hard. Just good food, good people, and a place that locals clearly love. And if you are visiting North Carolina, you absolutely have to try Cheerwine at least once. It's basically a Carolina rite of passage. Cherry soda lovers will probably be obsessed. Me personally? Not exactly my flavor profile, but people here drink it like water, so clearly they are onto something. Rhino Market is one of those places that makes a city feel like home. Life is too short to not eat well, Charlotte. Get out there.

I had such a great experience at Jersey Mike's in Dilworth! From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. The staff was incredibly professional and friendly, and my turkey sandwich was made with excellence--it was fresh, delicious, and exactly what I wanted! Wrote down my order for my co-worker to get me food while on break. I specifically wrote down a club sub w/only lettuce, extra mayo, extra bacon, and cheese as well as oregano. I literally got ONLY lettuce, bacon, mayo, and cheese on my sub. If I wanted only those items, I wouldn't have ordered/wrote down a CLUB SUB. Come on people. When I said with only said toppings, that meant I didn't want any onions, oils, or vinegar on it. If I wanted a BLT sans the T I would've wrote that. read more

When I entered the store, I was immediately greeted by a friendly employee and also someone I suspect to be the manager. I was helped right away and was happy to find that my sandwich was ready for me when I came in (unlike my experience at the Uptown location). I was also thanked for coming in and wished for a great day when I left. This location is bigger than the Uptown location and the parking situation is much easier too. If I lived here, I would definitely be a regular.

The menu uses over 50 words to describe this "piled high," "savory," "tender," "signature sauced" sandwich... but what I received was basically bread with a very small amount of roast beef. Nothing else appeared to be on it. For over $10, it felt more like a sample than a meal. Please look at my photo and keep the menu description in mind--it's almost humorous compared to what's actually served. The Reuben Variation didn't fare much better. Also very small, lacking flavor, and honestly the weakest versions of these sandwiches we've had anywhere in the Charlotte area. One of the sandwiches came with a small prepackaged bag of chips and a pickle spear. We also grabbed three cans of diet cream soda, and the total came out to over $30. For two undersized sandwiches and a few drinks, that price is pretty surprising. We really wanted to like this place, but based on our experience, we'll be passing on Groucho's next time we're craving deli sandwiches.
