You know, it must be a Pennsylvania thing . . . This place PA has a bizarre quality - folksy, yet semi-modern. It's the physical place as it builds up for better or worse, mostly worse, with all the trash architecture and traffic, and many of the people, sometimes for the worse. Folks that just won't modernize. Read the reviews on this Jersey Mikes at 500 Forty-Foot Road (40 ft road? more bizarre) in Hatfield, PA. They all point to one grey-haired middle age culprit who is continually coming off rude to customers. And he is. Totally. But he's not cursing out or antagonizing customers. He's just rude. However, it doesn't seem to be personal, and he doesn't think he is, so we will overlook it. Fellow lunchers, just be aware that the man behind the counter, should you chance him serving you, will look at you weird, ask for several clarifications in either a demanding or blasé manner, maybe utter some snarky or inappropriate comment, but it's his way and he can't and won't change it. Just go with it this time. We don't want Mickey (who answers the several bad reviews) to fire him. This is Pennsylvania and maybe here, it should stay a little old school stand-off ish. read more

Ordered takeout from here for the first time (this location). The parking lot is kind of annoying to get in and out of. I did place an order online ahead and the staff was very nice. Every other time I've been to a Jersey Mikes (Doylestown or Horsham locations) I'm used to a very hearty sandwich I can't finish. I split half of the large size with my fiancé and it was pitifully filled. Very skimpy and the lunch meat was so unbelievably thin it was literally thinner than paper. I ordered the Italian and took out the pepperoni and pulled salami with it because they were so thin they stuck together unnoticed. I'm all for thin cut but if you're gonna have it sliced that thin, pack it on. It wasn't the worst hoagie I've ever ordered, but again, just expected more quality from Mike's. They did remember and pack my pepper spread on the side and gave a decent size container of it - so they get points for that. read more

First time having sub from here Ordered one tuna and one cheese steak one Tuna was good but cheese steak... nothing outstanding or good When we walked in, they weren't busy at all One employee was working alone but all of sudden, as soon as i paid, people pouring in, 2-3 more staff showed up from somewhere and started working together I guess thats why? They didnt ask me what topping and sauce i want to add in cheese steak and just wrapped it up and gave it to me Did not give me options for anything Each time i had to ask "what kind of bread do you have, can you get it toasted, what kind of sauce you have (tuna-they put sauce and topping but cheese steak) ," they didnt give me any options or anything first. No longer a good sandwich shop. They started to nickle and dime you and have become very stingy if you want extra of any toppings or condiments. The attitude of the guy making my sandwich was horrible. I know I m not valued as a customer at this location. My advice is if they don't make your sandwiches the way you want it is to just leave. I really like the portabella mushroom cheesesteak and Italian hoagie. The cheesesteak with the addition of the mushroom was very tasty. It was cheesy and the bread was nice. The Italian hoagie was a solid one. Everything I expected. My only complaint is the size. The rolls for each size just feel a couple inches too short. The service was okay. Today this location prepared 30 catering boxes of subs and 4 boxes of fresh made chocolate chip cookies for me for a Christmas party I had for our employees. The entire large order was ready on time when I picked it up. The manager worked through the night to have the subs fresh for us in the morning to pick up for our lunch event. Our group of 230 people enjoyed the special lunch!! I highly recommend this Hatfield jersey Mike's for catering pick up! They made it so easy and were very responsible with the order being ready on. I stop here a few times a week to get dinner on the way home. Everything that I have ordered has been amazing and super fast and delicious. I have always received excellent service from staff as soon as I walk in the door. The workers make you feel like at home always asking how you day was going and talk to you the whole time you are waiting on your food. Service by the 40-50yr old with gray hair. If I could give zero star I would. I had an extra coupon and handed it to the older woman in front of me. I was scolded. It was the way he spoke to me. Telling me the owner would never allow a patron to hand a coupon to another customer. He then I asked me what my order was and told him, stating no onion. He snapped at me saying he didn't need to know the toppings just what meat. The two men behind me looked at me in surprise to hear how he was talking to me. I came into this location because our office of 70 people had an office party with their food. They left the coupons for the staff. The funny this is, I don't live in this area. When I first walked in, it reminded me of a Subway because of the layout. Thru the door and go to the far end of the room to place an order. It works. It's here that you are greeted by dude on the slicer. He just handles your meat however, and slides it down to the fixns gal. The place was busy and a line formed, adding to the pile of call-in orders. But slicer dude greeted everyone and says he will be with them in a minute. That's class. It immediately disarmed anyone that was hungry and pissed. The other employees were poised and professional and the place was clean despite the Saturday lunch rush (see pics). Honestly, the food was ok but I'm not trying to judge them on a Turkey hoagie alone. The Turkey was antibiotic free which is a big plus in my world (see pics). Food is always good however I went in on Thursday and initially tried to order using the app. It didn't work so I went in. The dark haired you g lady refused to help me use my app and when I hit menu it brought up the actual menu and not the little yellow star she kept telling me to hit. She was very condescending and the "district general manager" (thin Caucasian kid) was visiting. He sent her to the back and proceeded to give me a free sandwich. The food is as so good I went on Friday (the next day) and there was little miss sunshine, she began running her mouth to the older sandwhich make guy. Saying "there she is, she was here yesterday and the district manager said I did nothing wrong" she was acting like a complete brat! She had zero fear of getting in sent home for inappropriate behavior. The sandwhich maker yelled loudly at her to get in the back. She stomped towards the back continuing to run her mouth. He proceeded to tell me employees aren't allowed to touch your phone. Sticking up for the brat, I explained what happened the day before and his tune changed. He made the comment he would slap her when they got home because it was his daughter!!! This is the reason you should not hire family or friends, as much as I love Jersey Mike's this behavior made them lose a customer. I tried to find a customer complaint line or contact on the website but nothing was there. No contact for franchise owner or who the person is. I ordered a chicken portobello cheesesteak. I don't like the rolls, too soft. There wasn't much taste to the sandwich, not much chicken or mushrooms. it was soggy too. I order from this restaurant often. Great food, great workers. Everything is fresh, and I don't have any complaints. When I was a sad panda on one order, they even drew that for me, which admittedly made my day. It's the little things that count, like getting an order right, not having lettuce that's starting to brown, and panda doodles that make this place great. read more

Tried to call in an order and the person I was talking to must have been on her cell so I'm listening to a conversation she's having with a friend about her mom. I'll give this place one star, because I have too. I would rather drive the 7 extra miles and go to the location in Bluebell. The food is ok, nothing like other Jersey Mikes I've been too, as they don't fill the rolls as much. It's always quite dirty, the floors are never swept and it already looks old, even though it's only been open a few months. The service is just plain bad. The first time, I excused it, just because it was opening weekend, ordered online, wasn't ready when I got there, took 30 minutes past ready by time, second time, same thing happened, third time, got a gift card so I had to use it..... same damn thing. The employees constantly give the excuse of "the machine" being broke and them not getting the order until 5 minutes ago. While Jersey Mikes always has good subs the customer service was terrible. Placed an online order and was missing a sandwich. Called when I noticed it and was told to return. When I did the manager was first upset I did not bring ALL of the order with me, even though I had the original bag and receipt. Then he took forever to make a replacement sandwich when he said over the phone that it would be ready when I got there. I wouldn't waste 20 minutes going back just to get a free sandwich. read more
