I have probably eaten at this location over 200 times in my lifetime, and enjoyed the experience probably 99% of the time. My experience at this store today was awful. I placed an order online and the it was not ready until another 45 minutes after when they said it would be. The whole COVID workforce excuse doesn't apply at all here either, as they have like 20 employees working at a time. I agree with the other users on the critique about the meat portion, but I often get wraps to make up for it. Speaking of their wraps, the Caesar Salad wrap on the sun-dried tomato is a.ma.zing. I get it all the time, sometimes switching it up with their standard Philly Cheesesteak. The group here is wonderful, patient and nice. The service is no quicker than Subway, but that's not inherently a problem with it since it tastes 900% better than them. For two people, sandwiches, drinks and chips comes around 22 or 23 dollars. my friends and i came here during my lunch break around noon. there were many people yet so it was pretty fast. i ordered the philly cheese steak because i was really craving it for a while. after we ordered, we turned around and there was a line out the door! so a good tip: get there by noon! when i got my food, the sandwich was piping hot. of course it was, since it's made fresh. the sandwich did not remind me of my trip to philly, so no brownie points for that! a big improvement for them would be to toast the bread. because when it's not toasted, it gets very soggy really fast, especially with all the cheese! read more

Ever since I got sick of Subway, I've come here for lunch whenever I have a craving for a sub. Sure, they're a chain place, but they're damn good, and the environment at this location is quite relaxed and nice. I always go for the Super Sub or the Big Kanuha Cheese Steak. But honestly, any cold sub, done Mike's Way, is amazing. They pile on the lettuce, are liberal with their oil and vinegar, and will add on banana peppers, pickles, and anything else you want. And the Cheese Steaks are delicious... as close as you can get to good ol' philly cheese steaks back on the east coast. Thick and juicy, dripping with cheese. SO good. The prices here are on par with the regular price of sandwiches at quiznos and subway. So why would you get an inferior product, when you could be eating something delicious instead? read more

Just before this Jersey Mike's first opened, they sent a complimentary platter of sandwiches to our office along with menus and cards for a free sandwich on opening day. Nice promo there. Today was the first time I actually went there. My co-workers, who are pros at saving time, phoned in our orders an hour before our arrival. This allowed us to bypass the long line of people waiting to order during the crazy busy lunch period -- we went straight to the "Phone Orders" area and were able to pick up our food right away. Downside was battling with a parking lot full of traffic and a street full of more traffic. Oh well...lunch rush. I had a turkey and provolone sandwich. Regular size cost approximately $8.00 with taxes. The sandwich was sliced in two, so I could have eaten half and saved the rest for dinner, but it was so delicious I devoured the whole thing. The Italian! It brings back memories of my undergrad years. Back when I was an undergrad at a certain institution there was a place called Socko's subs. That's when I discovered my late night cravings for deli subs. Something about cold cut meat slapped on a nice loaf of bread with light sauce (oil and vinegar being a must), crisp cut shredded iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese brings me back to life. Ahh... it would hit just the spot during those late nights... when I wouldn't be studying. Anyways, Jersey mikes does a good job coming close to what I used to have back then. I only order the Italian as it comes with the most amount and most diverse cuts of meat. Six to be exact. They have all their meat displayed under a lamp and behind glass, hoping it would reassure customers of the origination of their sub's meat (to their awe or dismay). I don't know, something about seeing the meat, pre-sliced, as a solid meat brick held together in shape by the plastic wrap doesn't really captivate my appetite. Somethings are left better kept as a mystery behind the "smoke and mirrors" of the sub chef. regardless, I do come by jersey mikes to relive those previous undergrad days by buying the Italians. The prices are more expensive than say... subway, but I think it's worth the premium. They do taste pretty good. You get what you pay for. read more

I come here from time to time with my coworkers for lunch since we work down the block. Being never disappointed with their sandwiches, I feel like a review is finally in order. There's 2 things that I'd normally get here. Their Philly cheese or the Italian cold cut sandwich. Both equally good in their own way, but there isn't anything that really stands out to me other than it being a nicely prepared sandwich. Next on the list for me to try is the Big Kahuna... I think it's safe to say that I'll be back again. The reason why this place is getting a 3-star rating is because of the price. It's rather pricey for a sandwich... clocking in at just around $8 for a sandwich and that's not including chips and a drink. I'll definitely take this over Subway though that's for sure! WORD OF ADVICE: If you're going with someone and you're getting the same sandwich, get the giant size and split it. It'll save you a couple bucks. read more

I'm a picky sandwich lover, so I was happy when this place opened relatively close to me. The deli meats are sliced fresh and thin and the bread is pretty decent. Having been spoiled by my experience with east coast delis, this place is pretty good for a chain in California. Haven't tried the Philly cheese steak, but I've been to Pat's in Philadelphia and wouldn't expect that this place would have anything comparable, but why would I, this isn't Philly. A long time ago, this place used to pass out coupons. I never got a chance to check this place out when they did. I finally was able to get a coupon, so I decided to check this place out. I went to this place yesterday after 630p. It was a little busy. I think they had just finished helping a customer, so there was another customer in line just before me. While I was waiting, another customer came. Then a few more customers came. I got a Giant #3. I got it done Mike's way which tasted pretty good. I think if you get it done Mike's way, it helps to get it done faster. I think in total, I waited about 5 minutes. It's very interesting that they slice the meat and cheese in front of you on that machine. I think it helps to keep the meat and cheese fresher. However, I would think people with food allergies need to be careful of cross-contamination. There's plenty of parking and the guy who made my sandwich was pretty nice. However, I thought this place had an "A" grade but couldn't see the sign. Not sure I would be back to this location, but I will check out their other locations. read more

There were three other customers behind me, they got their sandwiches, they already left and one was already eating his and I was there standing waiting for my to go subs Then I've asked where's mine and they forgot to do it. When I'm in the mood for a sandwich, I go to Jersey Mikes. Nothing compares to the freshness and high quality of their meats and rolls (Plus they have Pepsi, a HUGE plus for me). Everytime I have gone to the one in Hawthorne, the staff has been happy & helpful, it's like they love to work there and it shows. If you go to a Subway the employees act like you are inconveniencing them when you order. My 1st experience at JMS. I got an Italian sub, their specialty. I like the fresh sliced meats, fresh bread, the fresh salad with hand made vinagrette is a plus, but the sandwhich was only A-ok. The jury is still out on this new addition to the south bay. I shouldnt complain about my free grand opening sandwich, but it had so much chipotle mayo dripping out of it that it was a bit sickening. I have been going to Jersey Mike's lately and enjoying their sandwiches. Today was not so smooth. I ordered on the app as usual. When I arrived at the time the sandwich was scheduled to be ready the cashier told me it was not ready. Ok... So I waited and waited. When I asked about the status 10 minutes later I was told that they lost the ticket. OK. so? I asked and they said "We will make it". I went outside and got my wallet knowing that I may need to move on and get a refund. I took a breather and knew I would get my sandwich soon (I was very hungry) went back in and waited some more. People came, ordered, and left. Finally I went to the cashier and asked for my sandwich again (3rd time) plus I had showed the the order confirmation upon arrival the first time. She looked at me puzzled. I said I wanted a refund and the manager provided me one. Times are tough but I was patient and pleasant to no avail. First off, the free regular sub deal was brilliant. I've never seen a new place so crowded so quickly. This place falls somewhere between your chain sandwich shop and your local deli. Everyone was super friendly, but me wonders if this will wear off once the grand opening vibe dissipates and the staff gets settled in. So far I've had 'The Original Italian" and "The Famous Philly" and loved them both. My idea of a good italian sub is one that drips with the olive oil and vinegar and this one does not disappoint. It definitely requires some extra napkins so be warned if you don't like a 'juicy' sandwich. Definitely one of the best cheese-steaks I've had. Such a simple thing, yet so many have tried and failed so miserably. I'm not saying the Guido's from Philly are going to be moving out to So Cal en masse to get a taste. But if you like you some cheese-steak you will not be disappointed. Looking forward to trying the Big Kahuna with jalapenos an mushrooms. Jersey Mike's is a fugazi. I mean, that's what you get when you want a PHILADELPHIA cheese-steak from a guy from New Jersey. Lemme tell you what makes a real Philly cheese steak - the steak has to be real chopped sirloin, and not frozen steak-umms like they use at Jersey Mike's. The onions are sliced and chopped and sauteed on the grill for a long time, left in a bed on the grill to stay warm. Then, you take the meat, put it on the grill and add a little oil to get it goin'. When the meat's almost done, you mix in the slow-sauteed onions and put a little water on the grill, then put on the cheese - the steam from the water mixes with the meat and onions and melts the cheese. Then you put it on a long Italian roll (preferably Amoroso). The roll should be sliced but not in half - just parted like a hot dog bun. Jersey Mike's uses frozen steak in slabs, available in your supermarket as "Steak-Umms" - then they put that on the grill, and put raw white-onion rings (not chopped) right on top of the meat. The onions don't get thoroughly cooked, and certainly don't caramelize. Then, without even chopping up the onions or the faux-steak slices, they just throw the cheese on top. They also slice the roll completely in half. This is ALL WRONG. The problem is, this is pretty much how every alleged "Philadelphia cheese steak" is done on the West Coast. My uncle told me Jersey Mike's was really good, but clearly despite having come from the Philadelphia area in his youth, he is deranged, because Jersey Mike's is to a real Philadelphia cheesesteak what Glass Joe is to Rocky Balboa - completely fake, fugazi B.S. You want a real cheese-steak? Tough, you're not going to find one in LA. Stick with Pat's King of Steaks, or if you're in the secret know about Philly, maybe you understand the glory of Tony Luke's. But in LA? You can't get a real cheese-steak, and sure as heck not from Jersey Fugazi Mike. read more

No matter how good Jersey Mike's may be or not be (it's decent, but they freaking put mayo in a philly-style sandwich... sacrilege!), their "Philly" cheesesteak will never, ever come close to Jim's IN Philly (yes, in Pennsylvania) or the roast pork sandwich at Tony Luke's in Philly. But I digress... With that out of the way, decent sandwiches. But seriously avoid the Mike's Way - they douse the sandwich with oil and vinegar, with the balance tilting toward the vinegar making the sandwich taste like vinegar with cold cuts. Jersey Mike's supposedly started in Jersey. I'm from NYC. I've never had a sandwich growing up doused with vinegar. The next item to try is the club they offer, which is a combination of roast beef (which is sliced paper thin, but that's not really the way to properly serve a whole cut of meat... processed meat like the turkey, ham, etc, yes, but when you slice roast beef too thin, you completely lose the texture), turkey, a little bacon and cheese. If that sandwich doesn't cut it, then I probably won't be back again. Oh, and did I mention the sandwiches are expensive compared to their other chain cousins? (Subway - which sucks - and Togo's, which I believe still rules the roost). read more

The lines are long next time I call ahead. After that Jersey Mike's does a tasty sub, Mike's way or otherwise. I had the Club Sub and it was fresh and right on point. They have real iced tea which is always a plus. The chip selection is vaguely disappointing. Lots of crazy Ruffles flavors but none regular. I like the home made cookies, they are legit. As for the service, its sort of over exaggerated with lots of yahoo's and hoorays. BUt that's unnecessary and certainly not like an authentic NJ Deli. JM's is a ton better than other fast food subs like Subway or Quiznos, so if you can get past the jocularity of the service it's will do the job. read more

We love Jersey Mike's and usually have a solid experience. It's been my #1 craving since being pregnant. Today's experience was an extreme disappointment. My husband had to go back there 3 times today because they keep making my sandwich wrong. Wanted no mayo and provolone on the California chicken.... I get the same thing every time and I've never had a problem at any other Jersey Mike's location. On top of that, there is no management present at this location at this time to address the issue.
