We were waiting around and got hungry and decided to eat here. I like their roast beef sandwich so that is what I ordered. I like how they slice the meat when you order it so it seems fresher. The only thing is when it's busy, you have to wait longer because of this. But I'm okay with that. I do order my sandwich without their magic powder (oregano), not too keen on that herb. I have not tried their hot sandwiches which they cook at time of order as well. I'm glad they're opening one in Pasadena so it'll be a closer drive to get my Jersey Mike's fix. read more

Shout out to this Jersey Mike's! I have been here twice in one week and I am so impressed with them! I have a dairy allergy and often when I go to places the employees seem annoyed when they have to take extra steps to avoid cross contamination. At this Jersey Mike's they have been nothing but helpful! In addition, today I ordered from this Jersey Mike's on Grubhub. There was no where to type special instructions so I called to tell them about my allergy, again they were nothing but kind and helpful! This location of Jersey Mike's Subs recently opened up in a shopping center near the traffic circle in Long Beach. I came here with my wife a few days ago for diner. She ordered their chipotle cheese steak. It was good. They put a decent amount of meat, cheese, chipotle mayo, and grilled onions & peppers. The bread was not the best I've had. Most of it was soft and squishy but some of it was chewy. Bummer. I ordered their big Kahuna cheese steak, which comes with steak, extra cheese, grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms & jalapenos. Because I'm a fatty I wanted to add a few things to my sandwich. When the woman who was taking my order asked what I wanted I told her the big Kahuna but that I wanted to add a few items to it. She said OK but instead of asking me what I wanted to add, she started constructing my sandwich. I kept trying to tell her I wanted to add things but she wasn't listening. She was just about done making my sandwich when I had to yell "HEY, I wanted to add a few things"! She was like "oh yeah" and asked what I wanted to add. WOW. Love love love the sub sub subs here! I think the cutting of the meat so fresh and so thin really pays off as the flavors are brought right to the front of each bite. Bread is soft and has great texture to it and all around I consider Jersey Mike's to be the pinnacle of take out sandwiches. Drawback is the price but if the old saying is you get what you pay for holds true for you, then these really do live up to the price. Just know going in that a regular size sub is about $8 each but are as wide as a togos. Another huge point for Jersey Mike's is their affiliation with the Angels. Every time the Angels score more than 10 in a game you get a free regular sub!!! WHAAAATT!??! So, I used to go to this place all the time. They make good sandwiches the employees for the most part are friendly. However I had such an odd experience, I believe it was with a manager (shorter plus size woman with brown hair) that I'll never go back. One of their employees was passing out coupons outside when he came in I asked if I could have one. The employee had me a coupon no problem. Then when I turned to pay for my sandwich and soda. All of a sudden my cashier was surrounded by the manager and some other employee and pretty much demand at the coupon back. I wasn't trying to use it for my purchase I was putting in my purse. Popped in quickly for a sammy to-go last night. It's a small store located in the same shopping center with an In N Out and Marshall's. Parking was easy with a good amt of spots available. Walked in and there were two other customers. Was greeted promptly with a friendly hello and the nice staff was already ready to start my sandwich. Ordered a regular Jersey Shore Favorite (provolone, ham, and cappacuolo) and it was made exactly as I ordered (llettuce, onions, pepperoncinis, salt/pepper, and oil and vinegar). Appreciate that they wear gloves to make your sandwich and take them off when they ring you up so that their hands, or gloved hands don't touch the dirty money. Speaking of money, I enjoy their sammies, but think JM's ranges on the higher price side for subs. Paid just under $8 for my sandwich. Was able to get in and out of there in less than 10 mins, appreciated the friendly and efficient staff, and enjoyed the taste of my sandwich at home. ZERO stars! Used to love, but they have gotten to be horrible. My last several orders have been wrong. While I was in the store a stupid employee actually put the TWO ingredients that I had REPEATEDLY ask to NOT be used while I stood in front of him(allergy on one.) I just had to file a complaint with the BBB after almost 2 months of trying to solve the problem. Here's a copy of BBB complaint that tells the story: "This is my second attempt. I ordered through the app. My order was wrong and parts missing. It was delivered by Door Dash. I contacted them and they said they would send word to JM. After 2 weeks and no results I contacted you. I get an email from "Kyle T" throughout weeks of emails with Kyle: 1. I no longer had the receipt as I thought the problem was handled. I did have the order number but he could not find my order or so he said. 2. He then ignored me and follow up emails for 2 weeks. 3. Then he claimed he had "found" my order by the order number (that he claimed he could not use previously), and told me that my points were returned and I was refunded. 4. I assured him they had not. 5. Then he repeatedly lied to me about a plethora of things over a week or so. He claimed AGAIN that he had confirmed I was refunded and shore points restored. Neither has been done. 6. Two more weeks have passed. ** . ** . **** . . *****When I ended up in emergency after a previous order had oregano (allergy) on it when I SPECIFICALLY asked for none (they also put the OV which I also asked to be omitted) I should have complained and sued you but I was too sick for days." read more

Although it is nice to have an alternative to Subway and Togo's, I have mixed feelings about this place. The sandwiches are good, but I'm not sure they worth the $8-9 that is charged here. (Mini size with chips and a drink) The meat looks highly processed, although it's sliced to order. On the plus side, they do offer a chili paste on the bread which adds a nice kick. However, the last few times I've been in the service has been slow. 10-15 minute wait for a sandwich with only 2-3 people ahead of you in line. No being rushed through an assembly line like cattle! Let's get right to it, shall we? Let's start with the sandwiches. The first thing I saw was a guy slicing fresh meat for every sandwich. Fresh meat sliced to order? Why, that's unheard of, right? Wow, what a concept! I didn't see any pre sliced anything lying around, except for the fresh toppings, of course. And the bread! Let me tell you about the bread! If you think you are getting fresh bread at those other places, forgetaboutit! The bread reminded me of the fresh home-baked bread my mother and grandmother used to make. Talk about heaven! Now, to the meat of the matter. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Sliced so thin, cooked just right, and prepared by someone who knows what they're doing. The jalapenos seemed to enhance the flavors as well as my whole dining experience. This place has grown on me. It's very close to my office so there's the convenience factor. Not the degree of variety as Subway. But the ingredients are quality. People there are mostly friendly. Kind of tight inside and the old sandwich shop that used to be there had outdoor seating (Hector's, the best). Prices are a little high. But always a tasty sandwich.
