To make it safe, they cleaned off the equipment, prepared my meal in a safe place and even opened new tubs of lettuce and tomatoes to avoid the risk of cross contamination. Very first time here. Came in and it was empty. Ordered and was given a slip then waited. First (cold) sandwich comes out, already on bread, was not even given an option to choose. Wasn't what we wanted but let that slide since it was already made. Asked the girl at the register-(she was young with glasses) if it's extra for different bread and she said no and I replied oh we didn't even get to choose and she gave us a look as if she didn't care. Then she calls us and says our order (hot sandwiches) is ready, which took so long to make and I say we wanted fresh veggies in them. Again she gives us that I don't care stare and says nothing in response. Already annoyed by the lack of customer service, just took our order and left. This new sandwich joint is located at Mililani Town Center, where Subway & A jewelry store were previously. Check out their menu online prior to coming in. I noticed they had a wide variety online than what was displayed. I got the Jersey Shore's Favorite and my hubby got the Philly Cheese Sandwich (off menu). My sandwich reminded me of Storto's. However, for a regular size (6inch), it costs more than Subway, yet you receive less than Storto's (9inch). I would eat here again though. My husband really enjoyed his meal! I decided to order using their app. It's so convenient and you earn points for free food. I love food, especially if it's free! I ordered a ham and provolone kids meal, a Mike's Famous Philly, and a Big Kahuna Cheese Steak. The only difference between the Famous and Kahuna, is that the Kahuna has mushrooms and jalapeños. The price point is on higher end and the subs don't come with a side and drink. Those are purchased separately/added on for an additional charge. It's very similar to Charley's, minus the fries. My son and I just tried Jersey Mike's yesterday. I'm not very impressed. I got the roast beef with provolone which IMO, tasted almost exactly like a Blimpie's sub. The woman taking our order didn't seem like she wanted to be there and made us feel a bit rushed. After giving us our order (written on a piece of paper), we walked towards the cash register on the other end. Halfway there, a worker asks us "Do you want to have it Mike's Way?" We has no idea what they were talking about and there were people behind us so we just said, "Uh ... ok." Anyway ... in the end, the sub alone was almost $10, another $3-4 to make it a meal, and almost no taste IMO. Size wise, it was decent but other than that, I found nothing about the experience that I could honestly say I enjoyed. The customer service combined with the prices made it a "I feel like I just got ripped off" kind of experience. Honestly, I feel that Subway sandwiches taste way better and I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off even when I do decide to make it a meal. I for one will not be returning to Jersey Mike's ever again. UPDATE: We decided to give Jersey Mikes another shot being that there was no Subway around. Big mistake. If you enjoy quality, fresh sandwiches this is the spot in Mililani to eat! My husband and son can't get enough of their #6, "Mikes way." For us, this sandwich shop is two or three steps up from the subway it replaced. The meat is better quality and tasting and so are their fresh bread. I also want to comment on the service. The high school students they hired here are top notch. They are polite, quick, and give service with a smile. Kelsie, Chynna, and Lea are amazing employees! You get to see how they prepare the meal right in front of you, which is always a plus. Who ever is management did a great job picking really great young workers. They are representing your business well. Oh boy...so many mixed feelings lol On Wed. Feb 5 at around 8:00 PM, I did a mobile order through the app to order a giant #26. About 15 minutes later, I get a phone call from the store saying they ran out of bread and they're unable to make my order. We were disappointed but said okay. He said just cancel the order on the app and it'll refund me. I said okay and hung up. I tried to cancel the order via the app but there was no option to cancel it. So I called the store back and told them, and he said okay he'll refund it from his end. He then went on to add that the next time I come in I can get 50% off my order. I told him wow! Thank you I appreciate that. He said don't worry, just say that Justin, who is the assistant manager, told you that you can get 50% off your order and they'll have the receipt on hand for you so I said okay. 15 minutes later I get a call from my credit card company for fraud, saying that a company tried to charge $18.01 from Jersey Mikes. I notified them that the charge is gonna be refunded so I need to monitor it. Fast forwarded to today, Thurs. Feb 6, I thought to myself I'm gonna use the 50% off my order tonight, since I didn't get my sandwich yesterday. So I go to the store in person and notify them before ordering, that Justin said I could get 50% off my order today since they ran out of bread. They said no problem what's your order so I ordered 4 sandwiches today, the giant #26 and 3 other regular subs. I go to sit down while they make the order. Then he calls me back to the counter, and tells me that they ran out of bread again. They only had 1 giant white bread and the rest were wheat or rosemary. I can wait for white bread but that's 30 minutes. I said that's fine, we'll take the rosemary. I go back to sit down. About 5 minutes later, he calls me back up again to say that they're only giving me 50% off the giant sandwich, because that's what I ordered yesterday. I told him that Justin said the next time I come in I can get 50% off my order, and they said yah only this sandwich. I told him had I known that, I wouldn't have ordered the other sandwiches. They apologized but I was just irritated already. I go to sit down again and 2 people who walked in after me got their sandwiches before me. One ordered at the store and the other must've had a mobile order. We get home and our sandwiches are wrong. Some have ingredients we didn't want some missing ingredients. This is a good chain and major step up from Subway. This review is just as much for the owner or GM of the Mililani Jersey Mike's as other customers. I am not sure the owner/GM puts restrictions on his staff, but it seems so. For one, this place is a sauna inside. Always upper 70s and not even comfortable to eat inside. Second, there is rarely more than 2 employees working. They are usually semi busy (before and during COVID) with people in line and app orders. In my last 5 visits, once they ran out of bread and another out of a meat I wanted. I've heard them talking about how they had to run to another store for more bread (at 4pm) after noticing 3 or 4 loaves left on other visits, thankfully they had enough for my order those days. I sat in line yesterday, I was the 4th person on line, and it did not move after 10 min. I left and a customer walking out said that was a good move because it was hell getting his sandwiches. I have walked out 2 times now in the last 5 visits and supported other businesses instead. The guys working are usually really nice so this is basically a direct reflection on how its run by management/ownership. I would come here more often but I just never know what I am going to get (or not get really). Hopefully management changes some things around making it more like the others stores/chains. I was left a little let down after my visit here, I was so ready to enjoy a new restaurant in Mililani Town Center, especially a new sub shop to replace that awful Subway that once sat there. The employees seemed. . .neutral to our presence to be completely honest, they assisted us, but the the attitude and enthusiasm of a 2nd semester digital media student in the lounge of Leeward Community College who is about a shake and bake away from falling asleep on the couch. As for the food? Well size doesn't mean anything if it's not good, and honestly it wasn't good. . .it wasn't necessarily bad but it had almost no flavor from the bread to the filling it was just bland and a little bit dry, sad to say, but I get more enjoyment from a Subway sandwich. We were excited about this shop opening in Mililani. I used their online ordering system and placed my order, I was impressed when it said that I could skip the line and just pick up my order at the register. I got a call saying that 2 of the items that I ordered needed a little tweaking, which was okay since I know that they were new. I got to the restaurant and went to the register that said "Online and Phone Orders". I stood there, and stood there, while no one would look at me. I thought maybe the order wasn't ready yet. Then, they asked me if I was "Mike", and I said no, I'm Linda. Then they moved on. I was given a 6:47 pick up time, it was 7:00. I finally caught someone's eye and they asked if they could help me, I gave my name AGAIN, then saw that my order was just sitting on the side the whole time. I complained and was given a free sub coupon (with purchase of drink and chips). I should've just gotten in line in the first place, instead of ordering online. I know that they're a new restaurant and all, but I think if they see a customer standing right there at the register, maybe they could at least acknowledge them with a "I'll be right with you", or "Can I help you?" If you want a hot yummy sub. Come to Jersey Mike's. They're very popular in the mainland so even i saw they had opened one here i was excited. I wasn't aware there was one in Hawai'i Kai as i don't frequent that side of the island very much i thought this one was the first one lol! It's in the busy shopping center of Mililani Town and it was very busy when we came in as it was pretty new. Menu is simple. Hot subs and cold subs. Hot subs come as is or I'm sure you can add fresh toppings (lettuce,tomato,onion etc). I chose to get a hot sub and my parter got the Philly cheesesteak per usual. I decided on the Reuben The bread is super soft and fresh and the subs themselves have a great combination of warm meat, melty cheese and soft fresh bread. The Rueben is not something i would usually order but it was delicious with the pastrami and sauerkraut. I ordered chipotle mayo on the side to add and it was great! The cheesesteak was delicious as well with the grilled onions and peppers. The cold subs come made to order with freshly sliced meats every time. Fresh veggies as toppings made the way you like. It was great to see so many staff here during the opening and they did their best to keep up with the busy demand of subs with the many customers who kept coming in. a big fan of Jersey Mike's and will continue to try different menu subs. The prices are on the high side. Wasn't expecting the $15 price on their footlong subs. Tried their Chipotle Steak Sub. It was pretty good, but I'm not sure it was worth $15 or so.
