Working nearby, I ordered online for easy pick up. The process was easy, and saves a lot of time to just go to the register and they hand you your sandwich and you go, avoiding the long lunch line. When ordering online you can specify your sandwich options and that's where the disappointment sets in. I like onions, I really do, but not on my sandwich and there they were in my first bite. The sandwich looked much smaller than what I normally get, I order the same one each time. Then there was one side of bread which was cut too long, almost like a part of my sandwich had gone missing. I have never had a bad sandwich at Jersey Mikes until today. I ordered a Buffalo chicken on a spinach wrap. I have ordered it before and the spinach wrap has always been green, it was not green this time. The chicken had chunks that were fully cooked and chunks that were not fully cooked. It was a bit hard and chewy, then another bite would taste fine. I stopped after eating half. My wife's sandwich had the sides bare, no meat or anything, just biting into bread only. I usually love jersey mikes, but the last several times I've been there I've been quite disappointed. The people working at this location seem miserable all the time and make you feel like you're inconveniencing them when they are asked to do their job. The food hasn't been that great either- bread has been stale, wrap lacks flavor (or maybe it's just the ingredients the employee forgot to put in). Subs here are great and it's located in the only decent part of Santa Ana/Orange area. I almost always go with the Italian (vinegary) or club (creamy/mayo + baconnnn) depending on what I'm in the mood for. I like the loyalty thing, it's an easy way to get a free sub now and then especially if you go Tuesdays to rack up double points. The only thing that makes this not 5 stars is attention to detail. If you put an order in online or over the phone and you get it 'Mikes way' which I recommend, you'll most likely arrive to a soggy sandwich. If it were me, I'd wait for the customer since it's a cold sub anyways and jazz it up on the spot. Only takes 10 seconds extra and makes a big difference. From now on though I'll probably order with no sauce then request it there on-site which hopefully won't take up too much of other customers time. read more

I've been to a number of different Jersey Mike's locations and the only sandwich I ever get is the #13, Original Italian (provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami, and pepperoni) on white bread. My fiance and I always split a giant (which supposedly feeds 4 but I think is better off being split between 2 unless you want to be hangry). We always get our sandwich "Mike's Way," which includes lettuce, onions, tomatoes, spices, and a vinegar/olive oil blend. You can add whatever other toppings you want as well. If you frequently go to Jersey Mike's, it's definitely worth it to sign up for their rewards program. You get a different number of points depending on the size of sandwich you order, which can be racked up to redeem sandwiches on future visits. We were actually able to purchase our sandwich at this location purely on points! read more

I was hungry after a long day of work. I walked in at 8:45pm. I attempted to order a Buffalo Chicken sub. One of the workers look at the other and said I just cleaned the grill, so you can get a cold sub. I ask what time they closed & they said 9, but they have last call. This is 1st time I've ever been told that a Jersey Mikes. I asked to speak to a manager I was told that no one was there and they had no way of getting in contact with a manager that I could look at the website to make a complaint. This is only my second Jersey Mike's sub from any of their locations. Sadly, it didn't give me a reason to hunt them down as I do Capriotti's and Jimmy John's. Perhaps it was a mistake to order whole wheat bread but I thought I would give it a try. Sadly, it was dry and had little taste - much prefer the wheat bread from Quizno's. The portioning and pricing were fine but nothing I tasted makes me really want to return to eat at a Jersey Mike's. On the plus side, the service was good. Friendly and prompt. Normally good. It tonight was a disaster Sunday night at 7 pm and waited 25 minutes to get a 6" sub There are all these take out/ order s of people not there. Ht they kept making them as I waited. I ordered gluten free as there were 4 signs and promotions around the store touring gluten fre. When I go to Pay they add $2 for gluten free No one even mentioned there was a charge NOR veas it posted. When they bathed me they did not even mention it. When I questioned it they again looked up in the sky and sad " sorry- t's our mangers fault " again did not comp the gluten bread as I question why it was an additional $2 on am $8 sub- that is crazy. Listen, if you're in this area and you want a good quality sammie, this is the place. I know what you're thinking, "but Subway is right there and I can get a foot long for $5". Yea, a $5 sammie is fine and good but it won't taste like this one. First of all, they shave the meat right there. No lunch meat. No feeling like you could have gone to the store to buy a pack of meat and did it yourself. Second, although they don't have all the toppings that Subway has, the service is much better. These guys will actually make your sammie how you like it and you won't have to micromanage the entire process (at least at this location you won't have to). Third, since it's an east coast based business, they have things like Tasty Cakes.What's a Tasty Cake? I don't know, but I know they don't come from SoCal. I was really excited to eat a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and came across a piece of hair in my sandwich. It was curly and short so I'm guessing it came from the young guy with curly hair who was making our sandwich. Had astronomical expectations on their cheesesteak based on all of the hype. Finally had a chance to eat one tonight. The interior was simple yet bland. Pastel green walls with 3 flat screen tvs? Weird combo. I went with their biggest and baddest named cheesesteak, the "Big Kahuna Cheese Steak" which was steak with double cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms, peppers and jalopenos on wheat bread. I almost got a large but the intimidating name persuaded me to order the regular one. I took my sandwich to go. The first thing I tasted when I bit into it was tough, dry, chewy, doughly, heavy wheat bread and then a miniscule amount of meat and cheese? What the hell? When I separated the buns, the amount of steak and cheese and whatever else was a joke? It would've satisfied a 2 year old. It was literally a 10/1 ratio of bread to substance. No balance whatsoever. I was disgusted. I paid over $8 for this crap? It was so dry I had to add tapatio just to make it palatable. Sorry, Jersey Mike's, I would eat Subway's crappy steak and cheese over yours any day. I've been reading the reviews, decided to check out the place for myself for lunch now and got the Super Sub. I ate it but thought it was nothing bad, nothing great. I was a little bit put off on "Mike's Way", drowning a sandwich with oil and vinegar. I saw the preparer doing it and thought to myself, that's an awful lot of liquid, wondered it that would make the sandwich soggy. I guess if I had not eaten the sandwich right away, it would have. I do like they slice the meat as needed but feel the "value" of what you get for your money is a little low and feel if the sandwich was less, it would be perceived as a better value. Is it because they hand slice the meats per order? I assume so since you go to deli's and it is usually more expensive. But I would say Sorrento's deli is much better for sliced meat sandwiches or Capriotti's. I may go back and try another sandwich but I'm not in a hurry to go back read more

Not a fan, the best thing about the sandwiches were the chips that accompanied it. The sandwich was definitely lacking in flavor, super disappointing especially for the price. I got a regular italian and turkey, both "Mike style", 2 bags of chips, and a drink for a total of $20. The customer service was lacking. A little girl was ordering for her friend and forgot to tell the employee she just wanted salami, she apologized profusely. The guy just kept making the sandwich and ignored her.. All the poor girl wanted was for him to say it was ok!!! Then when I was paying and the machine asked me if the amount was ok.. The lady reached over and pressed Ok for me, just FYI that is for the customer to press, not the employees. The charge is going to my card not yours! Cherry on top. As I was leaving I heard the employees talking about a major order that was placed for the next morning. They were complaining about how early they had to get up and one of the employees mentioned he would have told the customer to go to subway... WHAT?! No appreciation for business whatsoever. I've been to a lot of Jersey Mike's but this one is the best one, particularly because of one sandwich maker there, ROLEX (that's his name)!!!! I think making those hand made sandwiches are an art form. I generally always get the Italian, but the way he makes it tastes the best, been to at least 10 different locations. I tend to always go during no peak hours, he always takes a few extra seconds to make the sandwich better than the others. Even the way he places the meat and cheese is evenly distributed carefully. When he spreads on the mayo or other items, he just does it with a lot of care and pride. I generally get a wrap there, which is even harder to make. He knows how much to toast the wrap, not enough and it gets hard and too much and it gets soggy and rips. All the meats and cheeses are distributed perfectly with the right amount of lettuce, mayo, oregano, vinegar and oil. He has it down to a science, so the guy making the sandwich really does makes a difference. After he makes my sandwich it's kind of disappointing to have someone else make it. Now for the hard part, when he fold the wrap, this is what separates the boys from the men. He folds it tight, the ingredients are even distributed so that each bite has enough of each item. Also it isn't a ball, it's shaped like a burrito. The location and the place is like most Jersey Mikes, just that they have one of the best sandwich builders in their franchise. If you want someone really good to make your sandwich and someone that doesn't just slap it together, go there and ask for Rolex. He makes the best sandwich that I have tasted from this franchise. If you aren't a sandwich connoisseur, then just keep going to subway or some cheapy sandwich place. I think the extra money is worth the ingredients and taste at this franchise. Rock on! read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a sandwich shop. I went in today at 1:30pm and the workers were awful. I ordered my sandwich and they asked if I needed anymore than just the one and I said nope, just the one sandwich ... then the workers started making sandwiches for people standing in line behind me. I was confused why I was being skipped over but I didn't say anything. Finally after three people behind me had their food made, mine was made. The cashier didn't ask if I was a rewards member which I am however due to the frustration from the terrible custom service, I forgot to enter my phone number ... but if the cashier asked then I would have remembered. Their sandwiches are always really good and taste very fresh, but I always feel so bad for the employees. Every time I walk in they seem so sad or unhappy like they hate working here. Jersey Mike's is my new favourite sub place. I used to hit the usual suspects; Subway, Togo's, and Quiznos. Don't get me wrong, these other places are great if you just want just a sandwich. But Jersey Mike's is different. It is something you will actually enjoy eating. All the meats and cheeses are sliced right in front of you. It isn't product that has poured from a bag into a holding vat. The freshness really makes a difference. The bread is amazing as well. It has a crunchy crust yet is really soft on the inside. If you are having a cold sub make sure you get it Mike's way. That really puts it over the top. I love getting the giant subs and saving half for the next day. It tastes twice as good the following day. The staff there are very friendly and always glad to see you. read more
