Their cookies look good. Busy but line moved fast. Far more efficient than the local sandwich shop down the street from our house. First impression when looking at menu: PRICEY 4 sandwich shop. Quality of bread: good- hearty. You have two options to choose from: white or wheat. Here is the sandwich size breakdown, since it is not obviously listed on their menu (a little annoying that you have to ask): Mini= 4.5 inches Regular= 7.5 inches Giant= 15 inches I ordered a mini club sandwich and he ordered a regular size (7.5 inch) supreme roast beef. The bread they serve here has actual grain and texture to it; wayyy more substantial than Subway bread. Was impressed to see that they cut all their own meat and cheese, like a deli. The sub dressing definitely adds a special kick & the spicy red spread is fantastic. Flavorful and an upgrade from Subway. Yeah it's pricier so if you are a baller on a budget, hit Subway instead. -1 point for not cleaning off your tables or sweeping enough. Something to work on. read more

Love this place, and this location actually has a ton of seating inside and out. If you're confused on what to get, try one of the two subs that have bacon in it. Always make it "Mike's Way"! Prices are a tad high, so make sure to sign up for their FREE emails and they will send you coupons every other week making it more worth it. Staff is usually friendly and upbeat. Finally, I can stop going to Subway now that Jersey Mike's is half the distance for me. I'm very lazy. I'd describe Jersey Mike's as an upscale Subway. Jared is not going to be losing weight here and a wave of sadness isn't going to wash over you when you dine in. They have a lot of hot subs and cold subs and subs in general to choose from like a cheese steak and, the one I got, the chicken parm. I don't know what I was expecting but it tasted like how one would imagine a chicken parmesan stuffed into a sub would taste. Um, like a chicken parmesan stuffed into a sub. For a chain restaurant the staff here makes it better than average. Everyone is engaged with the customers. Chatting, talking food and pleasantries while knocking out a pretty good sandwich. I got the Sub-in-a-Tub with roast beef and provolone - I like that they had this non-carb option and I liked that the roast beef was pink (so often it's well-done). But the Sub-in-a-Tub with a soda came to over $9!! I'm sorry, but in my opinion that's just too much to spend at a sandwich shop - especially when they're saving on not providing bread and there was no side (chips, salad, etc.) The food tasted good, but I'm not sure I can stomach their pricing. To the manager/owner: this location is painfully slow. Initially I thought it was the nature of the business but no, I've been to other locations, even a some within a few miles, all of which trump this location for processing time. If you have new hires, it might make the world of difference to staff your business as if they are not present for the first few shifts so your more seasoned employees aren't burdened with carrying the additional weight of what the new hire can't quite perform by themselves. I enjoy Jersey Mikes, but it's difficult to pay $10 for a poorly crafted sandwich after a 20 minute wait. A great alternative to Subway... the sandwiches are a good size, very fresh, and the staff, overall, seem to enjoy their jobs much more than those at Subway. I love Jersey Mike's I have been going there for years and always order a Philly cheesesteak with chipotle mayo. I recently went in and ordered the sub in a tub and it was below subpar. The veggies were not cooked. They cooked as long as the meat. So that made the meat over cooked, dry and grainy and the veggies hard, raw and crunchy. That's great on a cold sub but not a hot sub. I paid and tipped and received the tub walked to my car and saw there was no chipotle mayo on the food. I went back in and asked for the mayo in a cup. Honestly I don't like writing a bad review but when I pay $14 for a sub in a tub I expect a little more than this. Honestly they were all baked and I am highly unimpressed this time. read more

The good: This place is shiny and new! Very clean inside. The cold sandwiches I've had were delicious, the 'fresh slicing' is pretty neat to me, and it comes out tasting great. Staff is friendly and spirited. It hasn't been super busy as of recently, so I enjoy that. Had the California Club and it is mouth-watering good. The bad: The hot subs I've had weren't really the best. A little sloppy in preparation, and somewhat lacking in flavor. The verdict: Delicious sandwiches. Jersey Mike's offer 3 vegetarian options. All three are basically the same vegetarian sandwich in different forms: sandwich, salad, and grilled wrap. The sandwich is ok, similar to every other sub shop, except avocado is not included (boo!) You have to request and pay extra in addition to the already overpriced $8 regular sized, plain sub. The salad is mediocre as their signature dressing is fairly plan, oil and vinegar, nothing fancy or special. The grilled wrap is my favorite, it is packed with flavor and they don't skim on the cheese. Butt (pun intended), the hefty calorie and fat price of 760 and 40, respectively, is sadly not worth it. The staff, restaurant, service is all pretty good. The restaurant is sparkling clean and staff is young, enthusiastic and very friendly. The website doesn't list the prices, as they change dependent on location, boo. The website does offer detailed food descriptions, nutrition information (although I'm not convinced of its accuracy, it list the veggie sandwich with 45 grams of protein) and has an online ordering option (Bravo!) read more

WHY HAVEN'T I GONE HERE SOONER?? I was craving a sandwich, but didn't want to go to the place that rhymes with bubway. My husband suggested we try Jersey Mike's, so off we went. I ordered the #7 (turkey and provolone) and hubby ordered the Big Kahuna, a spicy cheesesteak. 1st of all - the staff was super friendly. They didn't seem rushed or bored and took the time to show us the sandwich sizes before we ordered. I got my sandwich Mike's way, with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, oil, vinegar and spices. I noticed right away that they added a nice amount of lettuce and the perfect amount of thinly sliced onions before I even said anything. At the other place, I'd always have to say extra lettuce, just so I would get more than a few shreds. I took my first bite and fell in love. The bread was super fresh, the toppings were crisp, the meat was thinly shaved (as it should be) and the oil and vinegar made it super juicy. It was absolutely the most perfect sub ever. I ordered the regular size and gave my daughter 1/4 of it. I was full after eating my sandwich, but seriously debated ordering another one...it was that good. My husband's cheesesteak was spicy, meaty and oozing with super melty cheese. Amazing as well. HUGE thumbs-up to you, Jersey Mike's. I'm just sorry I haven't been eating there sooner. read more

Very unprofessional, young and rude workers. Very little acknowledgment that you're there and appear ready to get out of there and get home. I have been there at least five times in the last few months and every time it's the same experience. Tonight when I got home with four sandwiches, two out of the four had hair in them. One strand of hair was very long and intwined in the lettuce. We pulled it out and took it back to the store and they agreed to give us credit for two of the four sandwiches. My kids were so grossed out that they did not want new sandwiches they opted out for McDonald's instead. Don't think that we will go there again. read more

Pretty damn good subs. Everything is freshly sliced to order and there is a sub for everyone. I usually get the cheesesteak which comes hot with a ton of meat and cheese. Not something if you're looking for something light. My only gripe with this place is their sizes. Its either get a sandwich that won't really satisfy me or a giant sub that is way too big for me that clocks in at almost $16. The giant sub is def good for 2 meals but that never happens. read more

Bottom line: Pricey, hit-or-miss customer service, strange atmosphere... TASTY AND FRIENDLY. People can squabble about this place all they want, but you really really can't deny that it's better than Subway in ten thousand ways. Not much else you can really say. Good kids manning the registers and making the sandwiches (none of this "gangster" crap), and when you walk in they seem happy to see you. How many times have you heard the grunted out "welchum-uh-suhway" you get at the way of subs? These guys say hello and they're fun and silly and young and full of energy! I love Jersey Mike's I have nothing bad to say about the food, this review is for this specific location. Every single time I've eaten there the floors, tables, and chairs have been disgustingly dirty, food everywhere on them. Patrons have to clean the tables themselves if they want to sit and eat. The staff is ok, they can be nice and friendly but some others are annoying (I had a guy one time ask me to do jumping jacks with him while I was waiting in line for my sub) Last time I was there the guy behind the counter was cleaning the glass in front of the toppings and he sprayed the glass cleaner right on it without even covering them. That's gross I don't wanna eat tomatoes that have windex on them. Again, love Jersey Mike's, hate this location. read more

Avoid this location if at all possible! Very poor service from the staff at this site, unprofessional and just plain incompetent. I placed an order online using the website and was provided an expected time of completion. I arrived at Jersey Mikes in Scripps/Poway 5 minutes later than the expected time and when I walk to the pick up counter the staff member just looked at me confused like what are you looking for? The managing member I assume then walks over to the register, pulls up my order and says oh oops, we haven't started this yet. I think, OK no big deal, they will start them next. NOPE. Five customers get waited on in the line before they even start making my ordered sandwiches. Wow! I would have been better off just getting in line instead of waiting at the counter. They finally start my sandwiches between the 3 staff members, somehow one of them loses the "ticket" that describes my order and selected toppings. The managing member then has to go reprint the ticket again! They realize they are making the sandwiches wrong and start pulling off toppings and dumping them. At this point I want to just cancel the order but my family is waiting hungrily at home for this dinner! Ugh! So then I get home, open up the sandwiches and find they missed one sandwich and instead made a duplicate of another. This place is a disaster. Avoid! Avoid! read more

It appears that I did not submit my previous review when I wrote it several months ago. I just submitted it after going back to Jersey Mike's on Scripps Poway parkway again and being disappointed. I walked in and there was one person in line ahead of me. They finished his sandwich. The sandwich maker acknowledged me then proceed to make nine sandwiches I'm assuming for an online order while I stood there and watched. It had to of been a good 5 to 6 minutes watching this young man make nine sandwiches while I stood there. It got to the point where I wasn't gonna wait any longer and I left without buying a sandwich. It seems like this jersey Mike's location is not interested in customer service since this is the second time they failed to provide the service I have received at other locations. I will no longer go to this location. Not sure if this is a franchise. If it is the owners lost my business. So I decided to try jersey Mike's on Pomerado and Twin Peaks. The two guys working in they were very friendly they took my order right away and there was no issues as to how I wanted my sandwich made. I will now be going to that store and driving the extra five minutes to get better service. For me it is worth it. read more

Don't bother ordering online. They won't get your order. They actually told me that my order probably printed out of the machine but they probably threw it away. So obviously the online ordering is not working for Jersey Mike's or at least not for this location. They didn't make my sandwiches until I got there and told them I placed an online order. And I got there about 3 minutes before it was supposed to be ready - 22 minutes after I placed and paid for my online order. The moral of the story? I did enjoy the overall flavor of my classic italian sandwich however the guy who assembled it drowned it completely in there special sauce and oil. it was way to much. i needed wet naps or something just to make it to a sink with out spreading oil all over the restaurant.
