Jared the incompetent female employee. Was horrible. Where do I begin. First I placed a pick up order, and asked for some items on the side . Did she do that of course not. So I called the store and told her that I asked for some of my items on the side . She said you didn't put that on your order . I said yes I did . She reread it then had the audacity to say. You have to put it on the top . For my side or we might not see it. When she was talking about a certain area. I said that's not an option. Oh ok she said . I came here to grab a quick bite before my midterm in the UV Theatre. I ordered the pastrami sandwich but requested to throw it on the grill to make it a hot sandwich and they were able to do that for me. In all honesty, the sandwich was nothing special, I'd rather go over to Tummy Stuffer for a larger, tastier, and cheaper sandwich. First time ever trying Jersey Mike's! The chain never really interested me before, but I got a coupon for a free sub with a minimum of a $1 donation, so I decided to stop by. The place was pretty packed. They also have quite a few employees behind the counter. I'd say that their system is much more productive than subway. They have several workers assisting you with your order, so it's efficient. I ordered a cold cut sub called the supreme, I can't recall what it had inside exactly but it was tasty! I do wish I had got the hot sub. Now those subs are mouth watering! (Not sure if I'd want to get it next time, it cost $7 something) The staff is really friendly and attentive, so hopefully that environment is consistent. Not a good stop for those on limited time or patience for lunch. Expensive for what you get. I ordered a turkey wrap (nothing altered from the regular item on the menu) and I was the first one to order in my group. Not only was mine the last one ready, it was ready and sitting on the counter and nobody ever thought to call my name or bring it to me. It literally took 15 minutes to get my wrap!!! Unacceptable. Especially during the lunch rush. They need to be more on the ball. So I finally went back up to the counter and saw my order sitting on the counter behind the clueless cashier. I asked if my order was ready and had to be the one to ask for my food. I finally get my food and sit down. Unwrap the food. WHAT? The whole $8 wrap is a whopping 4.5" long and drippy. I remember the first time I had Jersey Mikes at my brothers house in San Antonio, TX. I had heard of the chain before, but I don't believe they had any CA locations at the time (at least nowhere near me). Fast forward many years later and it seems like Jersey Mikes has taken over most of the space that Quizno's (blah) used to occupy. based on a vague memory of the time my sister in law brought a bunch of subs home, I decided to give the place a try. I am impressed with how things are done here. Meat is sliced fresh in front of you as you order, and your sandwich is assembled as you watch. I believe I ordered their version of an Italian sub, and it was pretty delicious. As an aspect of their business side, I am impressed for the workers that they prompt you to tip a percentage on the card machine. I don't usually tip sandwich makers, but being prompted to do so in checkout always seems to nudge me into a generous mood, lol! Overall, I like this place. it's a little pricey for a sandwich when you compare it to the Subways of the world, but compared to most mom and pop shops, the prices are competitive. My one draw back about this location is that trying to park your car around lunch time while school is in session at UCR is absolute murder. Otherwise, I'd probably make more stops at this spot. I decided to finally give this place a try today. I'm not a fan of sandwich places. It's pretty easy and cheap to make your own at home. Anyway, I've heard a lot of good stuff about this chain, so here I am. I go in and I'm the only one there. It's a Sunday, it's cold, not really a sandwich day I figure. I don't know anything about the sizes, so ask, and the guy gives me an inch approximation. I order a classic Italian regular size. It's a cold sandwich. I think it's a number 13, at least that's what it says on the board above the register. I pay more than 8 bucks, and stand around for a while while they go in the back make the sandwich. I don't know if that's their normal deal. There's mayonnaise and veggies and stuff up front, but again I'm the only one there, so maybe they don't want to make a mess on the counter or something, I don't know. Eventually they come out with it wrapped up and throw it in a bag for me. I get home, open it up, and it's not even close to what I ordered. It's a meatball sub. . . I try to see what they had on the receipt, maybe I ordered wrong, and guess what? Pretty sure they didn't give me one since I can't find it. So I guess I'll never know. I can drive ten minutes back at this point, go through the crappy parking lot and walk pretty far back to the restaurant to get a new sub, or I can eat this thing I didn't order. Since I'm feeling lazy (couldn't even make my own sandwich) and typically not that picky, I decide to eat it, hopeful that they will at least surprise me and give me the best 8-dollar-meatball-sub-I-didn't-order ever. It's not. This thing is incredibly bland. Meat is tasteless, Not a lot of cheese, the sauce tastes like basic canned tomatoes. It's pretty big, I guess, if quantity over quality is your thing, but I can pay 8 bucks for a month worth of ramen noodles with more taste than this thing, so I don't see how that's even a great argument. So whatever. I guess I spent 8+ bucks to remind myself that it's still cheaper, easier, and tastier to make a sandwich at home. That's a pretty cheap lesson, I guess. They refused to let me use the restroom & sent me to another establishment. Making my transaction with them longer. I got out of line & left. I come back & it's empty. I then ask for my order. There were two guys there. The other guy was in the back. Then the guy who took my order starts shredding lettuces. The other guy comes out & is fixing some tomato slices. I ordered the Original Italian with no tomatoes and a California Club Sub. These put the avocado and bacon from the California Club Sub onto the Original Italian and proceeded to add tomatoes onto it again. If you can't even read a simple mobile app order then how can you listen to customers when they're in store. Quit your job if you can't even do these basic things. read more

I like Jersey Mike's but this particular location needs some improvement. The bathroom was filthy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile, the sink, toilet were dirty. I didn't even go to the bathroom after I saw it, I waited until I went to the movie theater for my show and went University Regency 10 bathroom. Also when I came in to order a sandwich the counter was not wiped down or was the lettuce and other vegetables didn't look to fresh, they needed to be replenished.
