I ordered the salmon sandwich, which consists of: "Choice of your chimney bread, spread with dill cream cheese, filled with smoked Atlantic salmon, spring mix, cucumber, and red onion." The bread choices are everything bagel, jalapeno, and cheesy. I chose the everything bagel and asked for no onion. I found this sandwich to be tasty, but I thought they could have gone lighter with the dill cream cheese. The bread had a nice crispness. My husband ordered the ham and Swiss sandwich, which consists of: "Choice of your chimney bread, spread with paprika mayo and filled with black forest ham, Swiss cheese, fresh romaine hearts, spring mix, sweet pepper, tomato, cucumber, and red onion". He wasn't happy with the paprika mayo, as he says mustard would have worked better. Nor did he care for the sweet peppers. Now he knows not to order the default setting for this sandwich but instead to customize the toppings. They work with DoorDash, which, when ordering online, gives the option to customize one's order. There are high tables, the type that are found in bars, for those who want to eat their sandwiches there. The place is kept very clean.

This potatoe was a bigger than what most sit down restaurants serve. My pastrami on a baguette was so tasty: meat was hot and lean. I loved the portion. The highlight and reason for the 5 star was the staff. Food is delivered to your table via numbering system. The gentleman who attended to our table was so hospitable. I needed lemon, he brought lemon. I needed butter, he brought butter. To go containers were given as requested. Other staff members also came to check on our table. Deliverers are well aware that the security will contact the person who placed the order and have them meet the delivery person in the lobby or outside. There was No Update. No Contact. No text per delivery instructions. I tried contacting the deli via their contact information. The automated answering service prompts "1" for receiving text updates. No text. No link in the text. No update. It didn't work at all after 3 separate tries. The order was left OUTSIDE/ outdoors at the front corner of the entrance, out of view. The delivery was already Cold and Crawling With Ants! This is what is referred to as a Three Point Failure otherwise known as a FUBAR. There is no communication between the establishment and your customer. Your app provides no updates on status of an order nor a way to request a status update on an order. If a change needs to be made, there is no way to reach the establishment directly as the listed phone number directs customers to an unreliable answering service which is Crucial Safety Feature if there is an error with the order; for instance an ingredient that the customer or their family members maybe allergic to that was added in error. The HungerRush LLC app merely acts as a non responsive middle wall between the Deli and its customers. The only thing the Deli Italiano app does effectively is accept payment, something a human cashier can do better because at the very least a human cashier can call management for assistance with resolving a customer's issue or answer any concerns a customer may have. The app does Neither. It's 2026. 90s website ordering wasn't this obstructive. I will be stopping by the deli location in Herndon next day before 5:30 PM to have this addressed Directly. Be prepared to resolve this issue!

The portion sizes are absolutely gigantic. You can order one entree and I swear it could feed 3 adults. The food itself is incredibly delicious. Some of our favorites are the lengua stew, the fried fish, and the pollo a la crema. It comes with a lot extras and combined, all of the flavors and textures make for the perfect meal. They seem to have an assortment of sodas if that's your thing as well. I also have to point out the price--most of the entrees are $10-$11 which is pretty good anyway but for the amount of food you get, it is amazingly generous. I wanted a few slabs of cow for Christmas dinner but I was procrastinating in ordering and shopping. A few days before my Christmas dinner I walked in and was greeted and served by an amazing staff member. She educated me on how to cook, what to buy and even gave me a small discount. The cuts of meat purchased are all Prime cuts. On Christmas Day, we enjoyed our "cow" slabs as they melted in our mouths and no knives were needed. The Prime Standing Rib Roast was outstanding. The NY Strip Roast was perfect for the one person who enjoyed it. Finally the Lamb Chops were devoured by a few people even though it was purchased for one person. This shop has survived times of COVID when people were not in store shopping. The community rallied together to keep this gem alive. They now offer Pizza special notes, kids crafting and taco Tuesday's. They offer pre packaged fresh meats, wine bottles, drinks and other ready to make products. Visit them, it's a fun shop and the staff is great.
