Jersey Mike's is my favorite sub spot. Love the rosemary parmesan bread, although these days I have been getting bowls, with no bread. Trying to reduce my sodium intake and the bread has a lot of sodium. My go to currently is a number 6, roast beef and provolone )sub Swiss for provolone) bowl style with lots of lettuce, onion, tomato and oregano, add pepper and a few pepperoncinis, no salt. It is very good, I miss the bread, but not too bad. This locations parking is pretty tough, sometimes some sketchy people hanging around, but the staff is very nice and the restaurant is clean. No other sub spots compare in my opinion. Sign up for their rewards program as well to earn free subs. Enjoy!

I don't write too many negative reviews, but I'm pretty disappointed in my experience at this Jersey Mike's. I've always LOVED the sandwiches here, especially how saucy they are. I ordered the Turkey and Provolone sandwich this time and am pretty sure I received the wrong order. This meat tasted more like roast beef. Aside from that, it was very dry - I wished there was more sauce/dressing. I'm giving 3 stars because this may just have been a fluke accident and I have experienced the greatness of Jersey Mike's before. Hopefully it's a better experience for anyone else.

A year and a half later and they're still getting my order perfect every single time.

Def not extra meat or extra bacon that's for sure
    Scott L.

Do not order online. Ordered extra meat and extra bacon. Literally got one small piece of bacon on the whole giant sandwich, and what could barely qualify for regular meat. Just straight up disrespectful.

I ordered the Black Pastrami Reuben, and this was really yummy! The pastrami itself was juicy, tender, and loaded onto the sandwich along with sauerkraut. It was delicious on its own, but I asked for Thousand Island dressing on the side so I could dip the sandwich into it and that combination was heaven. The tangy, creamy dressing with the rich pastrami took it to another level! You can also get the classic hot pastrami if that's more your style. The Club Sandwich was also really good. This is more of a classic, straightforward deli sandwich and it's hard to go wrong with it when you're craving something familiar. But the biggest surprise for me was actually the cabbage coup. I wasn't expecting much, but wow. It's a sweet comforting soup made with meat and cabbages, and I found myself absolutely loving it. I have no idea how much sugar goes into that broth, but there's something about the sweet flavor that just works. You can order a small bowl, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try if you're curious. I also asked for bagel chips and pickles which were really fun to snack on. The salmon bagel and whitefish bagel were perfectly fine, but neither was particularly memorable compared with the pastrami or soup. I think this place is worth a visit if you're in Northridge and craving a classic deli meal. I'm definitely excited to go back and try out some other things on the menu.

It may just also be my favorite deli in LA for anything vegetable/side dish. As other reviews note, the selection of prepared foods for such a small shop is staggering. I've been coming for three years now, and while I'm guilty of ordering my favorites often, I think I'd have a tough time making my way through all of the foods on offer even if I switched it up on each visit. 4 different types of meatballs (the chicken breast one is to die for), lox, cabbage rolls, at least a half dozen cooked seafood options (shout out fish in tomato sauce), stroganoff, 3-4 different types of couscous and plov....and that's only half of the non veggie section. The cakes are great (Black Forest and walnut go hard). The Russian/Ukranian chip flavors rule. There are specialty candies and jarred foods and good looking fruits and veggies. There's an off menu soup with dill and little chicken meatballs that I'd recommend to anyone ailing in a heartbeat. And then, finally, we arrive at the salads and cold veggies. Nonstop bangers. The beet salad with prunes and garlic may sound wild for non Eastern European tastes, but it's unique and addictive and works. The potato salad Olivier? Best potato salad I've ever had. My wife has recently discovered the zucchini, which looks like a bunch of unassuming diced veggies but tastes savory and complex and herby. You'd be the hero of every picnic or backyard bbq ever grabbing side dishes from here. Seriously. The kind folks who work here will let you sample too, which is helpful when there are so many options. Some places wear their culture on their sleeve, fill your stomach with the love of a home cooked meal, and remind you that diverse communities are the heartbeat of this city. Admire the always-on-point "People Love Us On Yelp" sign as you arrive. The free parking lot offers nice and ample parking spaces for disabled customers as well as tables upon arrival which can comfortably accommodate wheelchairs. Sunflower seeds, sunflower oil, low sugar and no sugar added cookies, pastries and cakes, caviar, dried fish, pickled Herring, perfectly ripe berries, smoked fish, halva, cheese spread, jams, and artisan teas, all five stars. But wait. Is it a Russian-American market where I find the most Ukrainian imported groceries and ways to support Ukrainian farming?! Yep! +Heart hands emoji+ This market does a great job of offering a nice seat and friendly conversation to the average dine-in customer. Stop by to sip on an imported pear juice. Try a bite of fresh cream cheese cake with berries. Ask for advice! Go for the Beef Plav which is an employee favorite. The Beef Plav here contains a generous amount of tender, lean beef with carrots, savory buttery rice and whole softly roasted garlic cloves. Yum! (Five stars!) I've found some especially healthy and nutritious food here for my health recovery goals recently. About six years ago, I had been exposed to high levels of radiation according to a good old fashioned Geiger counter. My health began to drastically decline and I became very weak. I could barely stand and I barely survived. I knew about a famous brave Ukrainian woman who had survived radiation exposure thanks to her unborn child. Her survival story led to me requesting female cancer screenings which led to the surgeries that saved my life. Our commitment to the people and values which help us survive the impossible compels us to rise to the occasion of coming back stronger and better than we ever could have accomplished before or alone. So I'm drinking bone broth, eating extra protein, taking vitamins. And lifting weights with steadfast determination to recover my strength and then some. (Go Navy!) No market has helped me more in this health effort than this hidden gem. (Many thanks!) I am the customer who buys ALL the boxes of pastilla. (SORRY OTHER CUSTOMERS!) Pastilla is a layered pastry made of baked apples and eggs white, no sugar and nothing else! It's a miracle of a snack! Tastes like apple cake, made of egg whites. My husband purchased several knishes from Mort's Deli. We understood these to be meat knishes based upon how they were described and priced. After bringing them home and cutting them open, we discovered that they were not true meat knishes, but rather potato-and-meat knishes. Had the product been accurately described, we would not have purchased it. We specifically sought meat knishes and paid the corresponding price (see the receipts attached). When I contacted the store to address the issue, employee Kate maintained that the potato-and-meat knish should nevertheless be considered a meat knish. Regardless of the terminology used internally by the store, the product was not what we reasonably understood we were purchasing. The situation became even more troubling when I repeatedly requested copies of the receipts. During the course of the dispute, I was informed that the receipts were not accessible. However, the receipts were ultimately produced and later emailed to me as ordered by the police. Notably, the receipts explicitly identified the product as a "Brisket Knish" and reflected the corresponding charge. The receipts therefore became an important part of understanding how the product had been represented and sold. Rather than resolving the matter promptly and professionally, manager Gail continued to escalate the situation unnecessarily. Ultimately, Gail instigated the calling of law enforcement to the store. Two police officers responded to the scene. Following their investigation, the store was ordered by the police to produce the receipts. The police officers became involved in what should have been a routine customer-service matter. With their assistance, the receipts were eventually produced after previously being misrepresented as inaccessible. What makes this experience particularly upsetting is that my husband is severely disabled, partially paralyzed, and walks with a cane. What should have been a simple request for fair treatment escalated into an unnecessary confrontation involving law enforcement. The needless inconvenience, travel, physical burden, and emotional distress inflicted upon both my husband and me were unfair and unjustifiable. As loyal customers, we found the entire experience shocking and disturbing. We sent the store owner an email detailing the incident but the owner never responded.

Unfortunately, what should have been a nice experience turned into a very disappointing one. I sat waiting for quite a while and eventually had to wave down a waitress just to get assistance at the counter. The waitress, Margarita (aka Maggie), had a very unfriendly demeanor from the beginning. When I asked a simple question, her response and attitude made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I even told her that I was willing to pay the difference if my meal exceeded the value of the coupon. I was not expecting anything special--just basic courtesy and good customer service. I honestly felt as though I was being treated poorly because I was using a complimentary meal coupon. If you are going to provide these coupons to customers, they should be honored with the same respect and courtesy as any paying customer. I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated. Customer service matters, and unfortunately, this experience left a very bad impression. I would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience. Not a happy customer. The meat was flavorful and just fatty enough to be indulgent without crossing the line into a problem; the rye was sturdy, with good flavor, the Swiss had the right level of bite, and the Russian dressing provided just the right contrast of creaminess. It was a good sandwich. The potato salad was far less successful, tasting commercial and somewhat sour -- not spoiled (I don't want to give that impression), but more acidic than creamy, and therefore less enjoyable to me. Of course, the Dr. Brown's was flawless. In the end, Brent's remains the better deli in the Valley, with all the food a few notches above; but if you're on this side of town, Art's will treat you well, so you might as well...

Service = 5 Food = 3…read morePrices = 0 Outrageous to charge $35 for 2 lbs. of watery coleslaw soaked in sugar that is worse than what you get at Ralph's. (The photo shows one of the containers for $16.15, less than a pound!) The bill for two people at lunch: two sandwiches (one incl fries), coleslaw, tap water, and the worst halvah I've ever had. Over $200! It's no wonder the place was like a graveyard. Great service is not enough for me to ever go back. You can get much better REAL deli food at Brent's in Northridge. Our bill there would've been $120. And a better environment, too, with actual parking.
