Cheese steak had no flavor, very salty. Had to use ranch for a cheesesteak, blasphemy. Fries came straight from the deep freeze. Onion rings were alright probably best thing I ate. Tried the white pizza, zero flavor as well. Didn't even wanna try the pep. Sorry but won't be coming back. read more

LOUIE'S Cheesesteaks & Pizza At the spur of the moment, my family and I decided to try something new. Louie's had been repeatedly recommended and our 1st choice for dinner had too long of a wait for hungry young kids. Louie's is a Mom & Pop hole-in-the-wall kind of place. It has a total of 3 tables to sit and eat at signaling it does more take-out business than dine-in. The first indication it is more of a take-out place is that there is little to NO parking available. It sits right next door to a bar/billiards place which consumes most of the spots in the parking lot. The service was definitely top notch. Our table was checked on countless times and just before we were ready to leave, we were even offered free samples of their strawberry lemonade icee. Everyone seemed to want a second helping of that - just in time for bed. The owner was working the day we chose to visit. As soon as we chose a table to sit at, he came over to the table and with a soft-spoken voice, introduced himself, explained how he came into business in St. Augustine, and how he sources some of the menu items from Philly (specifically items for the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches.) To me, the menu seemed limited with only a few variations of VERY THIN crusted pizza and cheesesteak sandwiches. The drink options were just as limited with a few Coke products and water. 1/2 of the family each had a cheesesteak sandwich and they all RAVED about their respective choices. The other 1/2 of us chose the pizza. In my opinion, it was mediocre at best. The sauce tasted like it was canned by Chef-Boy-R-Dee. The crust was extremely thin. The best part of the pizza (to me) was the cheese! The youngest child with us had a tiny bit of an issue with the cheese because it was so stringy (but that's what made it good, .) Everyone deserves a second chance so we will give Louie's another try. read more

Way out of the way. But the best Cheesesteak you can get Olin Colee Cove. Just had the pizza. The crust is has a great crunch and chewy. The bottom was still crisp even after a 10 minute conversation with Lou and a 10 minute drive home. Wife and I was very happy. read more

I am not a cheesesteak person. But my husband LOVES them. So, after reading some feedback about Louie's, we had to try it! Wow! These guys do it right!! I consider myself a cheesesteak connoisseur. I try them everywhere i travel. So when we moved near Louies we had our hopes high and were not disappointed. This is not your average cheesesteak, but i really like either peppers with wiz or lettuce and tomatoes. Louie's hits the spot for the lettuce and tomatoes craving. The owner and staff are super nice, and they give a military and first responders discount. So this is our 4th visit and i bet we end up here 2 or 3 times a month. read more

I used to live near Naples, commonly known as the birthplace of authentic pizza. My favorite at our local pizzeria (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g194713-d3756300-Reviews-Pizzeria_Il_Diavoletto-Caserta_Province_of_Caserta_Campania.html) had a pizza that was their version of a white pizza with "salsiccia e friarille " that was, if my translation is close, something like "sausage and leaves," but what it actually was included sausage and broccoli rabe. I discussed this briefly with the owner (Louie) and he made an off-menu white pizza for me with sautéed spinach in place of the broccoli rabe. This pizza was very close to my Napoletan favorite. In short, on the good side, I appreciated the genuine attentiveness to the customer, and I loved the pizza. The crust is not completely Napoletan, but I would say it's close to New York style. The thin, crunchy crust is a real treat. For me, and true experts will certainly correct my opinion, the only thing separating this pizza from true Napoletan is the pillowy end crust and the sauce. In my recollection, pizzerias in Naples have a thinner sauce made from crushed tomatoes (polpata di pomodori) and I believe the dough ferments longer. Additionally, the ovens in Naples are much hotter. (To clarify - I did not have tomato sauce on this pizza, but on others I'd previously had there.) For me, Louie's straddles the lines between Napoletan, New York style, and American style, but does so with finesse and skill. For lovers of true Napoletan, you won't be disappointed, in my opinion. However, the true compliment is to their customer service, and consideration of customer wishes. I saw them also discuss with other customers how their respective orders could be customized, and it's clear that Louie's aims to pleas. read more

My family and I are big fans of Philly cheesesteaks and were excited to find out there is a new place in St. Augustine that specializes in both cheesesteaks and pizza. We arrived just as they were opening for the day and were greeted very nicely by both the owners and another couple that were working along with them. After looking over the menu and asking a few questions we placed our order and paid for it at the front counter. In 10 minutes or so our food was ready and one of the staff brought it to our table. Our order consisted of 3 original Philly's with cheese & fried onions, 1 Philly with mozzarella, fried onions & pizza sauce, a Kid's chicken tenders meal with fries and a mozzarella sticks appetizer. The Philly's were all served on very fresh hoagie bread and stuffed with steak and goodies. They were delicious and so large we could hardly finish them. I would definitely grade them as solid A's. The mozzarella sticks and fries were also very good and were served piping hot. The owners are originally from Philadelphia and really know what they are doing. They came by our table a number of times during our lunch to see if everything was ok and if we were in need of anything. Honestly we couldn't have hoped for a better experience. Great food, nice atmosphere and a super friendly staff. Looking forward to returning soon and also trying out one of their pizzas. read more

I ordered Sausage Pepperoni Pizza and it was great. I used to go to Antonio's regularly so I'm glad to see the current owner Louie is trying hard to make this a go. Owner says he's from Philly... maybe he means Philly, Montana, because this was not a cheesesteak. It was a sad chopped steak sandwich cosplaying as the real thing. Paid extra for cheese and got less cheese than a vegan salad. And apparently, peppers are banned here -- not because they're out of stock, but because "he just doesn't put them on." That's like selling pizza and refusing to use sauce. Save your money and your taste buds. read more

Wow! Finally a real Chicken Cheesesteak. They actually use shaved chicken instead of cubed breast. The rolls are real hoagie rolls as well.
