We were in the mood for something different. We went to another Middle Eastern joint on 192 but they ran out of rice so we ran out of there and settled on this establishment. We ordered food, and while waiting for our food, fed Ian his Chipotle kid combo. By the time he was done eating the extremely nice employee at Jerusalem brought our food out. We tried their Lamb Shanks and Kebob combination plate. Food was super flavorful. Spices were faint yet had a distinctive Middle Eastern flair to them. I was here several years ago and this still rings true that it's one of my favorite and memorable Middle Eastern dining experiences. When we walked in, I'd bet we were maybe the only or close to the only people who weren't of Middle Eastern dissent. That made me super excited. The food to come didn't disappoint. This is where I learned that labneh is one of my favorites and spent years trying to find another place that could come close to this one. I was in the area and looking on Yelp for a vegan friendly restaurant and this one popped up. The food looked interesting so I went to check it out. I was given a choice of the buffet or or the menu and I looked at the buffet and chose the menu. The buffet was tiny and oddly enough had spaghetti in sauce. It also had a couple of dishes that were unrecognizable and a large bowl of salad. I think that if I ate from the buffet, this review would have turned out very differently. Luckily I ordered a platter thing from the menu. It came with hummus, baba ganouch, stuffed grape leaves, falafel and a green herb salad. I liked it a lot but did not like that they poured oil on top of everything, There was a puddle of oil. Not sure where these 4 / 5 star reviews are coming from. Tried this on June 13 and the food was terrible. Everything was cold (shawarma and kebabs) and the pita was stale. We had the Mazza and the variety was awesome with enough to share. We also ordered the Meat Shawarma and the Musakkaa. Not a very big place, they do have some outdoor seating as well. The schwarma sandwich was awesome. The garlic sauce inside was fantastic and plenty of meat. It comes gently pressed and toasted, and disappears fast. Willl definitely order this again. The hummus is also excellent. Fresh and tasty with a creamy texture and olive oil on top. Comes with pita, I ordered extra for takeout and needed it. The falafel was middle of the road. I'll still order it because I like falafel, but I wouldn't try and impress anyone with it. Came across this restaurant in the local coupon book from hotel with free appy coupon. So we decided to give it a try! And it's totally worth it. I am a lamb fan and I seriously regret not getting 2 legs! The leg is so soft and juicy with perfect taste. And with only $4 more for an additional leg? What a steal! Should have gone for it. The baked egg plant dish ( massakka? I can't spell right) is also flavourful and goes so well with the rice. I am so gonna go again before this vacation ends. Next time I will get 2 lamb legs, the steamed veggie and the rice. After having a bad experience at another Mediterranean restaurant, we decided to give another a try. We stopped in and were seated right away. Out waitress was quick, and super friendly. I had the Jerusalem burger, which was good (a little dry but good). Next time I will try a little something more traditional though. Three of us had dinner there with different entrees. There were shish kebab, beef Shwarma, kafta kabob. The quality and tastes were superb! We had made reservations, we thought, but were informed, that didn't work, but we got what we wanted because we were early enough. They don't have a gluten free menu and there are little wheat based noodles in the rice, so french fries were substituted. We will be back, but know the limitations. read more

The food was very good, however the service was horrible. There weren't many people in the restaurant when we arrived so we were waited on immediately. However, when it got busy we never saw the waitress again. There were three waitresses and none came over to ask if we even wanted refills. My water glass sat at the end of the table for at least 30 minutes before she came back over. I got my water and the check. Then waited again for someone to pick up the check. Another waitress finally picked it up and then brought it back and dropped it on the table. No thank you, come back again, nothing! We will never be back.
