Definetely worse than a tourist trap place. Server was not friendly at all. We went there around 11:15 when they are supposed to be open at 11, the door was locked and the server acted like why are you guys here !!! She automatically added 15% mandatory tip to our togo and 2 dine in menu items ( for me and my wife along with two toddlers ) and the receipt has another additional to add tip section ( they can trick you , be careful with that ) , the food was 75% rice and tiny bit of salad along with little bit of meat. A small authentic place still good for our gang of 11. Chicken liver was great after squeezing a wedge of lemon or lime. The lamb couscous was fresh and flavorful with plenty of vegetables. Kebab combo was a hit coming with rice and salad made it a full meal. Lamb chops were ok. The hummus was a bit lemony and almost certainly not house made. Tasted more like standard from a can. Fried kibbe was a great starter. The hummus shawarma was another great starting option. Service was top notch and our servers were very prompt and pleasant. My mother was craving lamb shanks and this place did not disappoint! Great flavor and portions. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My mom had a lot of question bc she never had Lebanese food before and they were informative and very helpful. We got the lamb shank (2 pieces there were huge!) and falafel as a starter. The ladies that greeted us at the pick up counter were very polite as well. The food was just extraordinary. We had the lamb shank and the mazza platter. My son had the chicken Shawarma, and my daughter had the spaghetti with meat sauce. All the dishes were just unbelievable. The lamb shank was buttery good. The meat was fall off the bone. Ok this review is necessary for everyone to read. Their food is decent but a year ago when we moved to Florida their platters were $13. As of today within 1 year span now it is $18. 18 DOLLARS! For a platter with meat and rice and 2 shreds of lettuce with it. I think the owners have officially lost their mind. Do not validate these prices and eat here. You can feed family of 3 for $18 or at least 2 at other Mediterranean places. Who charges these prices for a fast food type restaurant? Also who elevated their price $5 in a year??? Do they even know how prices increase? It maybe just maybe a $1 a year! I will not be giving them the satisfaction of visiting neither will my family. There is a reason everyone says this place is fantastic. It's because IT IS! Unfortunately I live three hours from this place or I'd be here all the time. In town for business I checked Yelp for something unique to try. I love this type of food so I checked it out. WOW! The sampler platter with three kabobs blew my socks off. The flavors were so authentic and fresh tasting. Even the rice was exceptional with possibly some cardamom added to make it really tasty. I love a good wrap of hummus, Tabouleh, and meat/lamb in a fresh made pita. In order to get this I had to order a hummus app.., Tabouleh salad, and buy a package of Pitas. The meat on the hummus app Wasn't lamb but it was good tender and well Seasoned, and my hubby ordered a gyro so he let me Have some Lamb. The hummus was delicious creamy yet thick and rich and it had a perfectly balanced olive oil, to chickpea ratio with a mild hint of tahini "nutty" undertone and a splash of that brightness lemon provides. The tabbouleh was crisp minced parsley, brightened by fresh chopped tomato and lemon seasoned with onion and chewy bulgar wheat. I would Say it's good if not great although the parsley was almost too... fresh if that's possible? I felt as if the flavors had not yet married fully. All that Piled high upon a super fresh pita is my idea of Great Mediterranean. We topped It off With some Of the best baklava I've had. The food is average at best, but the service is terribly slow. Our waitress was more interested in watching American Idol than coming to our table. This place is super authentic, has a great menu, and a friendly staff. The food, however, was just average. The place is in a rundown strip mall on the corner of 535 and 192 and is kind of sketchy. The inside is a little nicer but it's old and warn and has definitely seen better days. My seat bench was all ripped up, if that paints a picture. I'm on a restrictive diet right now and they were great about accommodating me. My sis kabob (lamb) was supposed to come with rice and a side salad, but I couldn't have the rice or salad dressing. Instead they agreed to sub that for the Arabic salad (Fresh diced cucumber, tomatoes, onion, mint and olive oil), for which I was super appreciative. The lamb was severely overcooked and tough to eat and the salad was pretty bland, but it was edible. My date enjoyed his Chicken Shawarma, so that's a good thing. Really top rate Middle Easter food - among the best in Central Florida. All the meat is flavorful without being too salty. The lentil soup is so creamy and tangy you won't believe there's no dairy in there. The meat is all Halal, which means it passes the Islamic dietary rules. This was the first time I knowingly ate Halal meat. I think it is a much higher quality meat than the mass-produced stuff the chains use. I ate there on two occasions, the first time I had shish tawook, the second time the combination platter of three skewers, one chicken, one beef, one lamb. All were excellent. The taboulli salad was also a hit. It was tangy and flavorful without too much oil; very refreshing. Best of all, the owner is a great guy (not just because he goes by the same name as I do). He accommodated us right before closing time (11:00 p.m.) and talked with us for the better part of an hour. The only reason I don't give it five stars is the physical location is less than ideal. That said, I liked that there were people talking, laughing and having a great time on a weekday night way past closing time. It is a comfortable place with great food and nice people. I really want to give this place a 3 1/2. I love that this restaurant is very authentic. I love Mediterrian food, mainly the way they marinate and grill the chicken kabob. My fiancée and I both choose the shish Tamook which is the chicken Shish kabob and lentil soup. I must say the lentil soup was hot and had great flavor. I came here with my family because there was a coupon for 10% off your entire order. However, we went during lunch hour, and the lunch specials did not allow any outside coupons applied, so we just ended up eating lunch specials at their regular prices. The prices were not the cheapest prices around but better than, say, a place in NYC of course! Their rice is really good. It has those small brown noodles that I am still not sure what they are after all these years! The rice is really flavorful, I want to say a hint of cinnamon and saffron perhaps. The gyro meat that they had was not bad, perhaps slightly dry. The hummus is pretty good though and pairs well with the pita bread. Their lentil soup was a bit too lentil-y if that makes sense - the scent and taste of lentils were a bit overwhelming. The white tzatziki sauce was not bad although it does not come with the food automatically - you have to ask for it as a side. My sister in particular liked the sauce. I would come back with some reservations though. My sister did get the stomach flu or food poisoning a few hours after we ate here, and I had a feeling it was due to something in her food, perhaps the meat she ate. read more
