I've never had Botox before; I was nervous, and Jessica made me feel comfortable was gentle and sweet.

When we checked in, they showed us back to the locker room with our robes. It was a great spa vibe to get dressed in our robes and relax before each of our services. Once we were all dressed in our robes, we went into a waiting room for our therapist to see us. They were there instantly when we got there which was because we didn't have to wait too long. I had my massage and it was really good. I loved the therapist that I worked with and she was great. After my massage was over, I met back up with my SIL and sister. My sister seemed kind of unhappy and when I asked why, she said that she had booked her treatment for cupping and an intense massage but that isn't what she got. She didn't want to make a big deal about it. My SIL eventually went to the front desk and after awhile got it sorted out that they had a system error in their booking. They could still offer my sister the cupping but we'd have to wait a bit to do it. It was good that she was able to do the cupping but disappointing that her relaxing had to be disrupted and we ended up being there longer than anticipated and had to move some plans around. Overall it worked itself out and we still enjoyed our visit. They did a good job of handling the hiccup.

We stayed in one of the soaking rooms and it was wonderful. We were provided with towels and salts to use specifically for the soaking tub. The tub was conveniently located in the main room with a view of the large screen TV which also could be pulled out from the wall and angled towards the tub and bed. We were a little confused about how the tv worked since it seemed that other guests were signed in to the streaming platforms, but that was likely user error. Perhaps a little note about logging in to streaming services next to the TV might be useful for others in the future. We were also able to access live channels. The room was clean, and had a microwave and mini fridge for our leftovers after eating out or for small grocery items from CalMart. The location is great and a short walk to downtown Calistoga. We were provided with robes at check in which were useful for the hot tubs and pools. There are two mineral water hot tubs of different temperatures and one large mineral pool for swimming. There are showers and changing rooms available in the pool area as well. They provided bicycles and helmets that we could take to ride during the desk hours. We would definitely stay here again.

There were several spots to sit and have a quiet moment on the property and there was tea and water and nuts available in multiple spots. I had the cedar bath followed by the fusion massage. The cedar bath is a very unique experience and felt grounding and comforting. It was indeed special and a unique experience and it is something I will likely come back for. Now the not so positive...the showers and changing rooms are quite small and very well lived in. The shower curtain had a mold like smell and considering how immaculate the gardens are, I am surprised they have not invested some funds into updating the indoor facilities, especially because the services are priced fairly high. I went on a Monday and my locker room wasn't busy but I can imagine it may get busy on the weekends because they are small and do not have much room for more than 1-2 people at a time. My massage was mediocre at best. I regularly get Swedish massages and do not require a lot of pressure but the massage therapist was very gentle and at times I felt like I was being softly pet and not massaged. I asked for more pressure five times and after that it started getting awkward for me. She also did not ask me if I wanted my scalp massaged and did this at the end and left my hair quite oily. I normally agree to the scalp massage but did not want to wash my hair after. In all the massages I have had, the therapist usually asks before using oil on the scalp. Finally, I paid the upgrade fee to have my massage in the Pagoda. It was a hot day so the therapist kept the door open and then later shut it due to bugs. After I left I counted (and took some pictures which I will spare the internet) of 9 huge mosquito bites. It's been 12 hours and I am still itching! I think I will give this spa one more shot because of the cedar bath but I may skip the other services.

Here is my run down on the place: Check-In: (4 Stars) very nice at the front desk, but found out later they had wine tasting from check in at 4 to 5pm. Why not offer a glass? I came to find out that the wine taster never showed. Customer Service Texting: Love that they have CS texting, they are very responsive and informative about things going on including how to check out. Room: (4 Stars) Bed: comfortable, good quality, high off the ground Pillows: 2 per person Night Stands: Space for tech and water, both sides had USB plugs Bed Lightning: individual reading lights on each side of the bed Extra Seating: 2 chairs and small table Mini fridge: plenty of room for your stuff Outside bathroom mirrors: full length on the closet door The in-room AC unit was very loud and doesn't turn off automatically after the temperature is reached. Bathroom: (4 Stars) Toilet didn't have its own closet (removed 1 star), slow close seat was nice, but no fan. Walk in Shower with plenty of room. Great water pressure, shower head on the wall, no water fall which is good, no shower wand but still good shower Sink: only 1, counter space limited for 2 people. Only 1 towel rack holder and a hook. Make up Mirror was nice No tub which is fine for this type of room Closet: (4 Stars) No Iron or iron board but they have seamer Hooks: none Hangers: plenty, good quality, some men's and regular plus 2 ladies. Robes: good quality, full length, no slippers Umbrellas,Flash light, small camping lantern, nice touch Maid Service: (4 Stars) no issues View: (4 Stars) nice gardens, well maintained, with a rock feature fountain up the hill Outdoor Amenities: (5 Stars) Pool: one very large natural spring water heated pool and an adult pool that's a little cooler Pool bar: water station, food, snacks, cocktail That's it, enjoy your stay...

I write all 5 star reviews so I hate to be negative;…read moreespecially because I usually love Indian Springs. But I HATE spending my hard earned money to be treated poorly. My mom has been coming here since she was a teenager, and we've carried through the tradition every summer. My husband and I love Hill House so much that when my wedding was cancelled during Covid, we eloped here in 2021. This stay has left such a bitter taste.. Lounging by the pool, my family and I were eating some pretzels and despite the other friendly staff passing by and checking in on us, Dylan stopped to tell us to put away our pretzels (obviously, because they want to capitalize on selling you food - fine). But his demeanor was so unfriendly and condescending. So we ordered poolside drinks and food with another friendly waiter, and unfortunately Draconian Dylan brought our food and told us that now our speaker wasn't allowed (even though it had been on the whole time with low volume, and there was no one there [see attached photo for emptiness]). Why go out of your way to ruin a family vacation when we're not bothering any one? Anyway, stay at the Bungalows of Calistoga across the street (so cute!) or Carneros (better pool! better views! better service! AMAZING cottages! and Domaine Carneros across the street for champagne tasting! All YES!) It's funny how one person can really ruin an entire day, and even an entire era of loyalty .. Train your staff better when you have families paying a lot of money to be here.

She finds the spots in my body that are tight or tense without me even having to tell her. And she's so kind, present, and passionate about what she does. You can tell that she really cares about her clients and she wants to make sure you are comfortable. I can't recommend her highly enough. I also did the 6 week hypnotherapy series with Robert and it was a game changer for me. I was previously experiencing a lot of anxiety, frustration, and stress. It became obvious to me that something needed to change and I've previously tried different method of healing (therapy, journaling, meditation, etc) so why not give hypnotherapy a shot. Robert helped me to learn that relaxation is our natural state and how to help myself calm down if I am feeling overwhelmed. He helped me realize that I can change. Honestly I'm a more present parent and I feel happier and healthier overall.
