Visit Date: February 20, 2022 I came here for what I hope was my last day in a battle of overeating I've recently had. It's the last addictive battle I'm currently facing right now. I had gotten two tacos from taco bell prior to here because I was worried 2 empanadas and a side of rice and beans wouldn't be enough, when everything was more than enough and I ended up hurting my stomach from overeating which is a feeling I don't want to have anymore if I can start to be vigilant. When I came in my uber eats pick up order was canceled but they were happy to put together what I ordered pretty quickly. I had the vegan mac n' cheese empanda, the vegan black bean empanada and a side of rice and beans. Plus I got a peanut butter cupcake I ate later on that night. Everything was delicious I haven't had an empanada in so long and it's nice that there's a place fairly close to my house and my job where I can stop sometimes for vegan ones. I guess if this was hopefully my last overeat (like my last drink was 2 years and 3 months ago) it was at least an awesome meal to have it happen with. I'd be back to Jessy's here and there and if you're a vegan definitely check this place out!

I ordered from GrubHub for delivery. The delivery was impressively fast- got here in less than twenty minutes from the moment I placed the order. I ordered a box of 10 empanadas. (Chicken, Beef & Cheddar, Queso & Sweet Plantains, BBQ Chicken with Roasted Potatoes & Corn.) The empanadas were crisp, warm and delicious! You can tell that they're baked fresh. They are SO good! The chicken was my favorite, though they were all very good. They have an array of vegan options as well. (Black bean, Mac & cheese, soy chorizo & plantains, Roasted Veggies with Pineapple.) Their sides are all vegan. They only sent one small ramekin of each sauce- I wish they sent more. I only had enough sauce for a few empanadas. Other than that- no complaints. I definitely want to check them out in person! Great job, Jessy!

I passed this place by a few days ago while going shopping and made up up my mind to give them a try the next time I was in the area. I had that opportunity last Saturday. I have to give these women props. 1st of all the place is super clean. It's not large, just two tables for eating in but the space looks inviting and is well laid out, the staff is very friendly and pleasant by the way. I've mentioned before that I'm a Jersey boy and I've lived for years in Hudson County giving me the chance to experience some fantastic Colombian, Dominican, Puerto Rican and Cuban eats. Compared to those places, Jessy's ain't bad at all. These aren't the deep fried, overstuffed empanadas that you'd get in the hood but baked and kinda healthy versions. We've enjoyed everything we've gotten from them and they will seeing us on a regular basis.

So, I love Bolivian style empanadas and have had delicious ones in Jackson Heights....looking to buy them on Long Island....any recommendations? Thanks, Nonie

That's a good question, as I have ever had a Bolivian style Empanada. How would you describe one? Jessie's is Peruvian, so different from my mother country of Spain, but not… Read more

Here is the main issue. It says on the website, sing along brunch 12-6. What it doesn't say is that the DJ doesn't start until 1:00. I would not have made the reservation for 12:15 if we knew the DJ starts at 1:00. Online it states a 2 hour max for seating which is understandable. That 2 hours should start once the drinks and food get to the table. You cannot take your time eating and drinking at this restaurant, The minute 2 people in our party finished eating the staff immediately appeared with to go boxes. The others didn't even finish their food at that point. Before we could even order more drinks, the waitress put the bill on the table. I asked the waitress about the 2 hour max seating that the website states and she said, No! it's 90 minutes. They add gratuity which is fine, I added extra once we were ready to pay. The way they rushed us made no sense. The table next to us had a big party and they were not being rushed at all. They were able to order 2nd and 3rd drinks with no problem. I could understand if the restaurant was packed and people were lined up at the door waiting to sit down, this was not the case. I go out to have a good time and feel welcomed for a sing along brunch, not stressed and being made to feel like we to have to choke our food down. $239.00 later and our first-time experience of this place wasn't great. The owner claimed that it shouldn't have gone down like that, but according to the staff, he is the one making them rush you out the door so there's that.....

We had reservations for 8:30pm and the party was just getting started, with the space essentially turning into a lounge with a DJ. Highly recommend trying their amazing dishes! If you're trying to have a quieter dinner where you can converse easily with your table - I recommend an earlier reservation. Will definitely be back!
