Jets pizza- Oh uh, will this be cash or charge? Husband- Charge. (Gives credit card info). *Fast forward to about an hr later. Our pizza arrives in a sloppy half moon shape, with the toppings sliding off the side (see pics). Crust tastes like cardboard- completely bland. I hate to seem less than grateful, but Jet's pan pizza left me full but underwhelmed, and with a greasy-feeling mouth. The signage has been up for over a year, so I didn't wait long to try Jet's after it finally opened. I got the 8-cut deep dish pan pizza with a cheesy edge. I opted for extra garlic flavor dusted over the edge - an optional topping can be applied to a crust on any Jet's pizza, which might be better exercised on a hand-tossed pie. Jet's pan pizza was a deal at $12 for 8 massive slices of thick, chewy dough laden with sweet tomato sauce and gooey cheese (I used the coupon on their website). I like the cheese-to-the-edge thing, and the pan pizza thing - it was just kinda super greasy. And there's no fresh spinach (nor frozen spinach) to cut the greasy edge - the mild banana peppers I got didn't cut it. Maybe jalepenos would help? I also tried a Greek salad which surprised me with the ruby-bright jewel tones of beets. The beets stained the feta a very lovely pink, which I enjoyed. But the beets told another story: they said that Jet's is a restaurant that sees very little fresh veggies, and sees a lot of canned veggies. Hence the beets. There were no cucumbers in my salad. Lettuce was the only fresh green thing in the salad. Jet's has soda to go but no beer and just benches to wait on, so maybe place your order then go to the awesome market next door for beer or wine to take home. Maybe next time I'll try a hand-tossed pie. But Milano's is so good and has spinach as a topping? You can see it's quite a dilemma. read more

This is some of my favorite pizza in Austin, but I called today and the guy on the phone was so unbelievably rude to me for absolutely no reason, I had to ask mid order if I'd done something to offend him. He acted like I was bothering him with my order. I've been loyal to this place for a long time, but to be spoken to like this guy spoke to me was too much. I was floored when I hung up and decided to call back and cancel my order. I called my number 2 pizza place, and gave them my business instead. Super disappointed. This was probably the worst pizza I have ever ordered. I travel for work and used Door Dash for my order. I have had numerous Cauliflower crust pizza from numerous places. Honestly some of the best pizza you can get delivered in S. Austin. Super friendly staff! Great variety on the menu. If you're carrying out you can see how clean they keep it in there. That's one of the first things I notice when walking in any restaurant with an open kitchen. Detroit style deep dish is phenomenal when done right and they do it right. We got the Super Special, everything tasted fresh and delicious. Talked to the manager, John, and he explained their dough process for both flat and deep pies. You can tell they are passionate about their dough! Which is great because that's the foundation of any good pie, right? After calling twice, someone told me the delivery driver left the store at 6:36 pm. He didn't arrive until after 7:20. $60 worth of pizza was cold after sitting in his car for 45 minutes. We discovered Jet's when we moved in the area and decided to give it a try after the Yelp reviews. Now we order from here almost every week. The ingredients are fresh. My son has a severe dairy allergy and the employees are great about being careful and changing out their gloves and tools. We've never had any issues with cross contamination. I love this little pizza joint, it's primarily a pick up and take home type of place, although they do have a few seating options. When you walk in, you're always greeted very nicely, the guys that work here are always having fun and in a good mood. That's very appreciated, thanks guys!
