Their menu keeps things simple but well executed, featuring coffee, matcha, and a selection of pastries, with drink sizes ranging from 8 oz to 24 oz depending on what you're in the mood for. I ordered the Matcha Purple Haze, which stood out with its smooth, well balanced flavor definitely something I'd come back for. I also tried the Coffeeholic Dream, and it was a hit rich, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the overall presentation of the shop really adds to the experience. Between the quality drinks, clean aesthetic, and great service, Coffeeholic checks all the boxes for a solid coffee spot.

I found it very delicious and light and refreshing. If you're looking for a Matcha, the Matcha flavor isn't very strong and it mostly tastes like an earl grey latte, but it is delicious and creamy. I ended up coming back and getting it again but with extra Matcha foam for additional Matcha flavor. Absolutely loved this drink. I also got a Matcha latte with black sesame cold foam. I've had a black sesame Matcha from somewhere else before, and the sesame flavor was very light, so that was what I was expecting, but was met with a very strong sesame flavor. I was not a huge fan as it felt overpowering and I couldn't taste the matcha. However, this is just a personal preference thing and if you like black sesame you should definitely try it! I'm not sure what much they used, but it didn't taste like the best quality, but it is still delicious and their drinks are all fun . The inside is small but and warm and cozy and they do have some seating. I was always able to find a spot. Super cute place with very sweet baristas.

Since I'm more fond of supporting Mom & Pop shops, I decided to stop by Boss Tea first. This boba shop is shared with a Banh Mi Deluxe - in fact, I'm not really sure if it's actually a separate business at all and just has different signage outside. At any rate, the place is basically take out only. While there are four stools available, the counter space is taken over by potted plants, so there's not really any flat surface to rest any drinks or food. That works for me, but it's something to be aware of. Since this was my first visit, I went with the black milk tea/special. Boss Black Milk Tea, Less Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($6.75) - This is a mixture of two different types of brewed tea, mixed with liquid creamer and syrup. The creamer and syrup are hand measured and mixed, so it's not as consistent as other shops using machines. Each sip has a pretty harsh sweetness that really hits the back of the throat. The drink is pretty creamy and the tea has almost a bit of a spiced note to it. Still, overall I found the sweetness to be too harsh and overpowering. There's a slight fruity sweetness on the exterior of the boba. The boba is soft and the texture feels kind of like a particularly leathery jelly. The teeth slice through the pearls easily with little bounce back. The pearls stiffen up a bit as they sit in the cold drink, which increases the firmness and bounce a little bit, but they never reach an especially bouncy state. I think this might be old boba that wasn't rotated correctly. They give a lot of boba in the cup, but unfortunately it's just not that pleasant to eat. Milk Tea Rating: 3.5/5 Boba Rating: 2.5/5 They also have a fridge that sells flan and Vietnamese yogurt. I was full from lunch so I unfortunately couldn't try them. You really can't go wrong with any of the drinks but my all time favorites are the tieguanyin oolong milk tea with toppings and the strawberry milk tea, which I believe they have now rebranded to strawberry smoothie. Sugar is adjustable which is great because I love my drinks less sweet. I got the strawberry smoothie and bff milk tea this time, which I believe is black milk tea with egg pudding and grass jelly, and I added egg pudding. So delicious and creamy, and the smoothie does not give off an artificial fruit taste. One thing that was off-putting to me was the signage indicating their kiosk. The makeshift, handwritten message to turn around and use the kiosk seems passive aggressive and gives off the message that the workers do not want to talk to you. Other than that, we got our drinks pretty fast since it wasn't busy near closing, which was when I went.

My niece suggested that we see if this place was actually Seattle Best Tea. The interior was crowded, so we thought that it must be a popular place. There were people standing in line and a small group sitting in the back of the shop. Service was efficient and polite. I was told that wintermelon tea cannot be served hot. That's ok... I can drink it with less ice on a chilly, cloudy afternoon. Since toppings were free, I got rainbow jelly. Yay! Thank you! We'll be back if we're in the area again!

I've mostly gotten takeout here pre-pandemic, especially their grilled beef short ribs broken rice plate and sometimes their canh chua. Sadly I haven't been back since the pandemic broke out, and I heard they've been struggling to stay afloat because of rising rent costs and the fact they had to close down briefly because of said pandemic and some crime around the neighborhood. My foodie friend and I decided to come dine in here on a Sunday around 1pm after The Block. Why am I mentioning The Block? That's later in this review. As for the interior, you got a massive number of tables that can seat anywhere from 2 to at least 6 or so people, and there's a TV in the far left side. The floor is carpet and the tables and chairs are a little worn out but honestly that's not at all deterring me and actually makes me feel more at home eating here. You get a double-sided laminated menu to look at, and staff take your order after. This was during lunch time, so I got their hu tieu dac biet, which has shrimp, squid, fish cakes, grounded pork bits and sliced pork all in a clean broth with rice noodle. This can be requested as a noodle soup (nuoc) or dry noodle (kho). Broth is clean, a little sweet, and tastes of both pork and squid. All meats were tender and chewy without losing too much of their taste, and the rice noodles were smooth and didn't break apart too easily. The two kinds of pork were my favorite meats since they had a similar taste to the heartwarming broth. I could only finish a little over half of this dish though, because I overestimated how much I could eat at The Block, so it looks like I didn't enjoy the dish when really I loved every part of it! So apologies to whoever was working that day when they saw my half-full bowl of hu tieu! My foodie friend ate every part of his com tam dac biet with grilled beef short ribs, and enjoyed it very much. Food here hits, and I'm happy to have been able to enjoy it all while supporting them during this difficult time for them! You can also help by either donating to their GoFundMe page or by dining in here, taking out food or even asking them for catering. Either way, I wanna make a return visit to try their other dishes like their banh mi sandwiches! I have been hearing at least three patrons ordering that throughout my 1.5 hour visit here.
