Been coming here a couple times, its very close to where I work. Not much to it honestly, the staff are nice but the coffee and food is meh. The Scene is not a specialty coffee shop! Depending on whos behind the counter, some of the baristas don't know how to pull a proper shot. Id steer clear of ordering cortados or espressos, they are hard to take down because its so acidic. I don't know his name, I apologize, but there's this Brown guy that's super sweet and can make a decent cup of coffee. The other older gentleman, Jay i think is his name, seems incompetent. I point to a pastry, he asks me "which one?" If you are ordering lattes or anything like that, lower your expectations. The syrups aren't in house, just standard Torani. It tastes watered down. There's no body to it because the espresso shots are lacking. The scene is very similar to Starbucks except the prices are higher. Not worth it. I'm usually there pretty early. Around 7:30am to grab a pastry or the veggie wrap to get me through lunch. Lately their variety has been lacking. There's but a few selections which is weird since its so early. Today I ordered their maple pastry and i later found a strand of hair at the bottom of the container. I called to stop by for a replacement later which they said yes but im honestly so inconvenienced. Its cold, i would have to walk all the way back which i dont want to do. This experience for me was the feather that broke the camels back. Will not be coming back, theres just not much to it honestly. I miss the older location, La Resistencia. Their cortados were so creamy and smooth. They knew how to aerate alternative milk despite its difficulty. Amazing service too along with beautiful art to admire. Sigh Gave it a one star but added an additional one for that cute brown guy. read more

I visited on a Sunday morning, and luckily, it was a sunny winter day! This place is absolutely perfect for days like that, with tons of sunlight streaming in. We purposely sat where we could catch the most sun, and it was honestly one of the best feelings. The coffee was spot on. I ordered a latte, and the coffee-to-milk ratio was just perfect, with a smooth extraction. I also have to mention how great our barista was--super friendly and accommodating when we asked to have our coffees in glass cups. I'll definitely be back! read more

This place is simply outstanding!! From the staff, to the beautiful artwork, to the behind amazing matcha! The baristas have nailed their craft, I've never had a better matcha latte. It by no means taste like authentic Japanese ceremonial matcha but it is so delicious. A perfect balance of matcha to sweetness and they got my added lavender just right. My husband who doesn't like matcha also loves my drink. I can't say enough good things about this place, it is such a gem. They also have a parking lot right behind/next to it! read more

While in Seattle for a work trip, I stopped by The Scene in South Park after grabbing breakfast next door--and I'm so glad I did. As soon as I walked in, I had this moment of déjà vu and realized I had been here before, back when it was Resistencia Coffee. It was a pleasant surprise to see a new spot in its place, and even better to see it thriving. I ordered a cold brew, which was smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced--not too bitter, not too sweet. The service was friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel relaxed and easy. What stood out most to me was the atmosphere: cozy, inviting, and full of character, with just the right amount of buzz and calm. Great spot for coffee, work, catchup or just to chill. Shop is small but doesn't feel it, interior isn't overcrowded with stuff or a million tables. The space is used well. Shop is clean. Service was super friendly and genuine. Really appreciated the baristas honesty. Ordered the seasonal cinna-latte with almond milk and no whipped cream, had there been a cinnamon roll in the display case, I wouldn't haven't gotten the drink but there wasn't one. The drink was sweet, not really a cinnamon roll-esque latte as advertised but more white chocolate mocha vibes. Also grabbed a raspberry vegan scone warmed and it was better than anticipated- soft and good chew. I don't typically enjoy Macrina Bakery but this was good. Have to say this spot is killin the game in every criteria. Staff: excellent, welcoming, knowledgeable, KIND (which lemme tell you, is extremely refreshing in this day and age). Coffee: I am a mint chocolate fanatic, and I have NEVER seen any other coffee shop offer a mint mocha, but using Andes mint chocolates. It was divine! Best colab in coffee yet! Scene: Cozy! The hubby and I sat on our two person couch and enjoyed the cultural art work, as well as the amazing choice of music. Lastly, the Cinnamon rolls...TO DIE FOR! You may look at them and think, that doesn't look like a cinnamon roll. But do not be deceived. It will blow your mind. Everything was delicious, and clearly made with love! read more

To begin, please note that I am biased as I used to go to this space when it was resistencia. I am devastated at what this space has become. The coffee is good, but coffee is super easy once you have the right equipment and beans. I can't speak on the milk texture as I ordered a hot drink but didn't really care when the barista started making it iced. Beyond that, a cafe should curate a warm and creative space, and I don't see that here anymore. Everything from the logo to the menu design and the art is very cold and tacky. Again, I am biased, but I believe a business shouldn't swap owners unless they can do better and in this case, they have not read more

I don't live in the neighborhood, but I have been here a couple of times on the weekend and have had a great experience each time. I've been three times to The Scene and enjoyed their coffee and pastries each time. Loved the Andes Mint Mocha and the broccoli cheddar quiche. The tomato arugula croissant sandwich is also excellent and fresh. The staff and the owner (met him the first day I went there) were friendly, and the music was on point. I used to go to Resistencia (the former name) and enjoyed the atmosphere but not so much the coffee. I think The Scene improved the coffee at this spot. The decor has improved since my first visit. They now have more paintings and art in general, and feels cozier. Overall, The Scene is a great place to go if you want tasty coffee, delicious food, and excellent service. No complaints. read more

This use to be Resistencia coffee, it will be missed! Under new ownership the Scene has repainted and changed the interior it has a very different vibe and different music. My coffee was good, the service was good and kindness surrounds. I gave it a four star because of the chemical air fresheners plugged in by my table and the new sterile environment. Just not vibing it now. I'll probably still go for a coffee now and then but won't hang out. read more
