For people who may not know: * A very fair/refiner-level buyer often keeps around **10% or less** * A decent local gold buyer usually keeps around **10-20%** * Keeping over **35%** is extremely high I do want to be fair and say this was partly my mistake because I should have slowed down and double-checked everything before agreeing. I had calculated my gold beforehand, but once the pieces started getting separated, weighed individually, and moved around during testing, I got confused and didn't stop to fully redo the math in the moment. It wasn't until I got home and sat down with the numbers that I realized how far off the payout actually was. At the same time, this is also why I personally would not return. An honest buyer who is trying to build trust and long-term customers usually does not let someone walk out with this large of a gap without at least explaining the percentages more clearly or offering something closer to a fair market payout.
