LVT floors from Flooret. Install by Jay!

Jay was recommended by our neighbor. We couldn't be happier. He was great to work with. He was flexible with us as we were remodeling some other things and working around us. Overall, super happy with the work he did! And saved us a ton of money.

    New floors!!

100/5 stars. Jay is wonderful!! My mom was diagnosed with cancer and is just starting chemo this week. In an effort to make her room a clean, safe space for recovery, we needed to get new floors in asap. We were on a time crunch and Jay, without blinking an eye, came same day for the estimate and then took time out of his weekend to come install the floors and was done in less than a day. It looks fabulous and we could not be happier. As another reviewer said, his attention to detail is top notch! Will definitely be asking for his services again in the future - as long as he wants to deal with our dumb, little dogs again!

    Bamboo flooring in the octagon!
    Hilary S.

Jay just gave me a new home. Seriously. He put bamboo floors in my 1300 sq ft octagon removing the 23 year old cheap carpeting. It has been said in all of the other reviews - but I will repeat: his attention to detail is amazing (and I'm picky), his communication is great - I always had a heads up on what was going on and he is just a nice guy (truly nice). Gave him the key to my house with no reservations and did not regret it. My whole house is finished - but if I ever need to put hardwood floors in any other place - I will wait to get on Jay's calendar. I had no idea what I was doing, but thankfully Jay did and he made sure everything, every detail was right.

Decided to check out Absolute Flooring based on reviews. Glad we did. Very nice and easy to work with. The floors were ordered and professionally installed by long-time employees. Easy peasy and grateful for this gem of a business. The owners, Betty and Sam, are great to work with. Though our kitchen was a small job, we felt well cared for and a priority.

I have used AF for many years for many projects before the current owners took over. Patrick (…read moreoriginal owner) was detailed, fair & did a good job. That was until he decided to sell to the current owners & he pretty much stopped caring. I had the misfortune of getting work done as the business was changing hands. I had wood steps redone & replaced my kitchen floor with what was supposed to be water resistant vinyl plank flooring. The installation was not great, (dents in frig etc) & the the vinyl started to come up along the edges of the planks within two years in spite of my diligence in keeping it dry. I called Sam to look at it to get it replaced or redone. I did not expect it to be comped, done for free or anything like that, but I did expect him to work with me. He saw the work on the steps & the kitchen & immediately started making excuses- I fired all those guys- Those were Patrick's people etc. with no attempt to work with me to repair the kitchen. He kept repeating that he fired those guys & has new crews. There was no attempt to make it right, to try and fix or replace the damage. He clear didn't want to be bothered & blew me off. Well it's been a few years & my floors which should have lasted 20 years, haven't made it. At seven years, I'm going to need to replace them again thanks to poor workmanship & & an owner that does not stand behind the work his company does. When you buy a business, you buy the goodwill as well as the guarantees. You follow up. I bought during the transition so I was screwed but it says something about the integrity of the owner, that even though he acknowledged the horrible workmanship, he made no effort to make it right or work with me. It was a huge amount of money, not sure I can afford to start over but I do know that it won't be with Sam & Absolute Flooring.

Just was wonderful to work with and was very honest and upfront to what the finished product would look like. We agreed the natural color would look best. It took about 10 days and the results were amazing. It turned out way better than my highest expectation. Also need to point out we previously had new 5 inch baseboards installed and virtually no damage to them. They keep us abreast of what the progress was. The bottom line is that the bulk of the work was good, I'm overall satisfied with the results, and am glad that we got the floors refinished. However, there were several details about the experience that would make me hesitate to recommend Peninsula to friends or others looking to redo their floors. - I was initially quoted ~7-8 working days to redo the floors. The initial work actually took closer to 13 working days, and it took another 7 working days on top of that to complete followup items after I reviewed the initial work. To be fair, I was traveling for about 5 of those working days during some of the initial work and probably caused a bit of delay in my own responses being slow, but I also don't think that all of the delay was due to myself. - When provided stain samples, I was initially provided the wrong names corresponding to the samples. This was only noticed because I asked for another set of samples in another area of the house and was confused as to why the colors varied so much, and asked about it- otherwise it's very possible I would have selected a completely different color than what I intended. - There was some damage done by the sander to our metal stair railing, which they did patch up with paint, but it's still visible where the damage was. Also, initially only some of the stairs in the home had the scotia trim replaced- when I asked the ones where the previous paint clearly showed they also used to have trim, they just added it to all of the stairs regardless of which ones did or didn't have it before. There was also a tricky area in a closet that I said I would be okay not refinishing, and instead it was sanded but not refinished due to not being able to get into that area- I would have just preferred the initial topcoat wasn't removed in that case, because that area is now just unprotected wood. None of these details were mentioned to me or provided as project updates until I asked about them. - Lastly, after I had sent the final payment through, I realized some of our doorstops were missing after having been removed from the trim to not get in the way of the sanders. I asked where the team may have left them so I could reattach them and got no response. It's not a big deal, they were less than $5, but later, after moving in, I also asked about if there were cleaning/maintenance products they would recommend and also got no response. Being completely ghosted after having dealt with some of the difficulties mentioned above really left me feeling like they totally wrote me off as a customer and was not a pleasant way to end the project. I think they do decent work, but I suspect they're a bit stretched thin and smaller/less important jobs are not supervised as much and don't seem like they have the same quality bar. If I were to do it again, I feel like I would have been happier supervising more closely from the start. Edit- I appreciate Juan's response (below and privately), however I do want to make clear that not everything was addressed as I was told they would be. For example, for the incompletely sanded and unfinished area of the closet I mentioned above, I was told it would at least have some form of finish applied, which never happened. There were a few other details like this, but at some point it was no longer worth my time to chase them down especially as we were getting close to our move in which we initially thought we would have far more buffer for.

My wife and I came in on a Sunday morning, just behind another family with older parents. Coincidentally we were both looking at bathroom vanities. A sales rep followed the other family to look at everything while we were ignored. After we made our decisions ourselves, we made our way to the front to the comp coffee machine thinking someone will come help us. Not a single rep in sight. At the coffee machine, warehouse staff were making multiple cups to pour into their thermos and coughing/sneezing all over the cups and lids. We went back to vanities without a coffee. We got back to vanities (coffee is front of the warehouse, vanities in the far back) and still not a single rep. We made this walk at least 4 times. We confirmed our decisions and we walked back to the front, again no one. At the front, I finally saw the entire sales staff doing something in a back corner so I called out if I can get some help. I apologize if I bothered them! No comments from the sales rep who helped print my order, no asking what I needed help with. He just followed us and I told him. No comments when I told him we walked for an hour without any help As we were paying, a cashier had to come from that same busy corner to take my card. As I was paying, the sales rep who was busy with the other family comes up to see what we bought. When he was working with them for a sale, we were walking back and forth around their group so I know he noticed us. Maybe he realizes he missed the sales on his record. Again, if I had other better options, I would have gone elsewhere.

Our job consisted of pulling up rooms of old carpet as well as an old kitchen hardwood floor, and replacing it all with 3/4" engineered wood from a Canadian company called Mirage. Elite's quote for materials and labor was not the most expensive nor the least, but when going through our house, Aleksey thought of questions, spotted issues, AND thought of solutions that no one else had asked about or even noticed. He was also the only one who told us that he could carefully remove our elaborate wooden baseboards without breaking most or all of them. Every other place simply said we would likely need to replace it all. As a result, their pricing was actually lower than anyone else if you take into account the cost we saved by not having to replace one single piece of baseboard. He was meticulous, measuring three times before ordering materials just to make sure he got the numbers right. Installation went smoothly and included work like grinding down areas of our foundation that were not smooth, moisture testing, coating of the slab with a moisture barrier, etc. They also made sure they installed the wood in a manner that will allow the kitchen appliances to be removed without damaging the floor, when the time comes that they need to be replaced. Again, no one else we spoke with even mentioned any of this. There were transitions between floorings of some rooms that were at different heights. For some of the areas, Aleksey did not care for the off the shelf transitions that companies sell. Instead, he and his crew crafted their own transition pieces & thresholds that looked beautiful and did the job. Far more elegant and unintrusive.
