The food was delicious, the staff was super helpful when helping decide what to get. Also the music added to the vibe but wasn't so loud you couldn't hear your friends talking it was nice.

So many delicious dishes! Definitely worth coming here and eating- the portions are huge and very flavorful. Obsessed with the buns! The inside is extremely clean and very organized. We went on a cold day and the inside was very cozy and warm. 10/10

Came through Chico and decided to check out this highly rated place. Ambiance is so very nice. Served was great and food was fantastic. The Tom Yum soup was quite spicy, almost too much for us. They did seem to be confused about whether there were ANY soup options that didn't contain meat. I would recommend that add a vegetarian broth. Overall amazing. Would come again.

Made our way to Chico today to try the new ramen and dumpling spot. We shared 3 dishes, the tonkatsu ramen, the spicy crispy chicken and pork soup dumplings. Everything was delicious and the portions are huge! We came home with almost half of what we ordered. Service was great. We will definitely be back soon

Got a few things and snapped a few pics! The staff were really attentive, knowledgeable, and they answered all our questions about the menu. New in town so we're going to wait a few more weeks to try the duck. Hope they stick around because this place has gotten more facelift than who knows. Before this it was the noodle place, which was overpriced. Oh, and the portions are pretty good!

Visited Ji Bei Chuan today. What caught my eye upon entering was the way it was decorated on the inside. It gave it a very authentic feel. Our service and staff was excellent and I can appreciate their uniform as it looks very comfortable. They also had a karaoke area with a giant mic (which isn't the mic people use, it is used as a prop.. I asked). I ordered a Passionfruit Bobo which was delicious, a little sweet for my palette but very tasty. My soup came out on a tray with a spoon for the broth, which was very cute, and it added to the decor and aesthetic of the restaurant. I ordered a Tonkatsu Ramen which was delicious! The broth tasted house made, it was flavorful and rich but it sat light as to not be very over saturated or too fatty tasting, but just right. The pork was SO GOOD, I don't know what or how it was marinated in but the flavor was very distinct, and it tied in very nicely with the other flavors in the broth and ingredients. In hindsight I would've added mushrooms, which is an option (for an additional fee, I didn't look). All in all, I can confidently say I'll be returning to try their other menu items. It is (in my opinion) one of the better ramen options in Chico.

Came in with my partner a week or so after the reopening/rebrand of fortune dumpling. So thankful they kept their dumplings which are consistently a highlight for us. We got the beef dumplings (tons of flavor), wontons in spicy chili oil, shrimp dumplings (nice chewy outside), shu mai, and tried some of their new noodle dishes. Both noodle plates lacked flavor and we definitely wouldn't get again. Hope it was just an off day or them just getting used to the new menu. When we came in they were giving out free boba milk teas and a sample of their spicy cucumber salad which was nice and refreshing. Loved that they were playing pokemon on the tvs and hope they stay in business for the dumplings and such friendly staff alone.

Octopus balls? Not sure the actual name tho

The place is clean and everybody was friendly. The food is on a cafeteria type line, you just pick out what you want, and then they serve it to you and you take it to your table. I can't speak to the main dishes, themselves, as I just came in for a Boba tea. I did see that they also had wontons on the line, so I also did an order of wontons as a snack. The wontons were wonderfully crispy, and not greasy at all, and they were very generous with the portion. I liked the sweet-and-sour sauce, it was sweet and just a little bit tangy. I had the Matcha milk tea, it was creamy and had a wonderful flavor. It's hard to describe the flavor of Matcha, but I do like it. It was a bit sweet, and just a bit savory. They asked me if I wanted the Boba pearls, which I did because I like them a lot, and they were very generous with them. A milk tea and an order of wontons was only nine bucks. Extremely reasonable. Thank you for a nice stop.

It was 100 outside and just humidity and hot inside as well. Very uncomfortable. -Ordered 2 boba milk teas. It was like drinking watered down milk with a slightly toxic weird flavor. It did not taste good. -Ordered 2 shrimp fried rice bowls. The rice was old and seemed like it'd been reheated. (My husband is Filipino. I know what fresh rice and fried rice tastes and looks like. This was NOT) The shrimp had been boiled. Not fried. -Also ordered a thing of the crab wontons. They were very rubbery and stale. Overall it was very disappointing. Will not be eating there on our way back home. Side note: I probably would have gotten a combo but all the food on their food line was dried out and looked like it had been sitting all day. I threw out what I had left. Which from the pic I didn't even eat half.

This is a…read moreChinese buffet restaurant, and from what we searched, only buffet they had in all of Chico area. Even the casinos no longer offer buffets at casinos (this is very sad). So we are buffet snobs as well. We know a good place when we've eaten at one, and there are not many out there. Really there are what is it a dime a dozen? but the opposite. Let me start off by saying that this place serves normal food. I mean if you remember Hometown Buffet from back in the days, where they just got staple food and it was done well. Not great, but well. This is like that place. They do well with what they offer. First off, visited the salad station. You'd prob thinking, it's just salad right? Well, yes, but this is why this was great. NO ONE WAS THERE!!! LOL. Chico got some fat ppl that don't eat veggies. The vegetables were clean and fresh. 100% they cleaned and prepped this today. Also, their crab salad was stellar. Like right amount of mayo and the crab salad was not the cheap stuff either. Keep in mind there are people going around the buffet stations cleaning up ALL THE TIME TOO, so they are concerned about presentation very much. Had their hot and sour soup. It was good. It did not taste like buffet soup, but it was good like if you were to sit down and eat at a Chinese restaurant good. On to the fried food. This is where they shine. They don't just fry for the sake of frying stuff. They make sure it is lightly battered and seasoned gently. These stuff are not fried from frozen. From the fried chicken (this is fresh - i know that for fact cuz my mouth said so), the fried shrimp stellar. Everything was piping hot like they make sure the warmers are hot and that they refill the food up properly. Like I said multiple workers goes around ensuring things look and is right. Their fries were even hot and crispy. WTF. Those are usually soggy and gross. Not these. Tried so many stuff this evening I think i gained like 10 lbs! I did try the sushi - meh, and it's not expected if you pay $20/pp for buffet your sushi quality gets better. It was just a hair below ok. I didn't care for it, but at same time expectations were low. They also had a grill station where you can pick a boat load of stuff and have them fry it up. I didn't try it, but they have a lot of great options between veggies and meat. Overall, for $20/pp for dinner on a Sunday night is a steal! Like remember Hometown Buffet for $10/pp for dinner? This is like that, but with inflation and tariffs, still a great deal! Next time we in this area, this is first place we'd go back to for dinner. This was memorable and in comparison, to all Sacramento area stuff, this one is top 3 at least.

Watching the cooks hard at work and mastery of Mongolian bbq was like a well-oiled machine. Watching the cooks and seeing staff continuously refill the food, toppings, and sauce containers for customers, while also putting out more bowls and trays, was like watching a flawless production! As for our food, the price of lunch is bang for buck because of how much you can fill your Mongolian BBQ bowl and the soup, rice, and addicting wonton chips with sweet and sour dipping sauce that come with your lunch meal. I gave 4 stars because the garlic and potato soup was super salty. My friends and I agreed this soup would have been perfect if it didn't taste like salt was poured into it. In addition, watching the cross contamination of some diners touching the raw meat in their bowls then touching the next tongs, like for the veggies, was a big health risk concern for me. With this, I keep in mind that I don't even know if this can be prevented due to the way Mongolian BBQ works with customers serving themselves, like a buffet. I understand it would be hard to control and prevent the cross contamination from touching the meat, especially as customers try to make room in their big bowl. In the end, the number of people dining, then seeing more people entering, shows how popular Hula's is!
