I went to Tuffy's right downtown street first and was told that they could not do a inspection cause it was raining and didn't want to be liable is something happened.... Ok, I've never heard that before but I get it. Then they continued to complete an oil change since that's what my car told me it needed. 30 minutes goes by and the front desk guy comes up to me and says that they can't finish the oil change because the oil was so low when I came in. They rotated my tires and failed to actually tighten the back right wheel. I almost lost it, and, consequently, the car, at highway speed. The tire went loose and no longer rolled true, sending the back of the car swinging. Could have caused a very serious accident -- I wrestled the car from swerving into oncoming traffic and eased it to the shoulder. Would have been much harder with heavier traffic in my lanes. When I limped into the nearest shop and got it straightened out, we realized I had only one lug nut left. The guy helping me couldn't believe I'd made it. "Somebody must have hated you!" Think you're going to save some time and money? Save your life. Go somewhere else. read more

My thing is - any business can have something .. less than stellar .. concocted by its employees. The best chef in the world can sneeze and burn scrambled eggs, a world class surgeon can forget a set of power tools inside the patient because his kid got an 80 on a French final, and an automechanic can sometimes force a lug nut onto the wheel stem and strip it. It is not the sign of a good business when nothing bad happens, it is the sign of a good business if they deal with the situation in the right way. Long story short, I've been going to this Jiffy Lube because it's convenient, being both right by my house and on the way there from work. The staff is always friendly, I always feel like they explain what needs to be done, what's recommended, and I always have a chance to reject. 30-40 minutes later I'm outta there. Well on this one occasion, the said mechanic came out and said that on one of the previous tire rotations, they probably stripped the lug nut and the stem on the rear wheel. He said he thinks it was them because according to their records, I had all of my tire rotations done on time and at this Jiffy Lube. So they fixed it - replaced the nut, and stem, all for free. See, recognized the problem, addressed it accordingly, consistently offer great service - if that's not 5 stars, I don't know what is. read more

I came here for an oil change because it's close to my house. They took in my car right away and went over some other maintenance options. I opted for a few of them because I recently bought the car and wasn't sure of the maintenance history. All of the prices that the guy there quoted me were awfully high, but there was a "manager's discount" or "special" on every service (some were up to half off). Seems like a pretty sketchy way to do pricing to me. Mega-overcharge and then offer "discounts" so that it seems like a good idea. I'm sure it's a chain-wide thing, but still doesn't exactly build trust. Anyway, with all of the added maintenance stuff, my price (before discounts) comes out to $133. The mechanic goes to talk to the manager about all the discounts he offered me. Rather than honoring each specific discount that the mechanic offered me, the manager decided to knock $33 off my price to make it an even $100. Had I actually gotten the discounts the mechanic offered me, it would have been below $100, but I was still satisfied with the price. Part of this $100 of services included a tire rotation, which the mechanic said they would do for $6. So, when they're done changing the oil, air filter, etc, the mechanic comes in to tell me that my car is ready, but that they couldn't rotate the tires. No big deal. I go up to pay, and the price is still $100. I point out to the guy behind the counter that the $100 was supposed to include a tire rotation that I didn't get, so I should get that portion removed from the bill. He said that the $100 didn't include the tire rotation and refused to remove the $6 I was quoted for the tire rotation (come on, I know its only $6, but it's the principle). I told him that I was disappointed and wouldn't be coming back. He told me that the owner would be in the next day and gave me his card. I emailed the owner a week later and never heard back. On the whole, a pretty "meh" experience. It's a good place for convenience and quick work (we weren't there too long), but not much else. read more

I've pulled into this Jiffy Lube 5 times over the past year because it's super convenient...5 times I've been told that they are "short handed" and then asked "if I mind waiting 55 mins to an hour for an oil change"... Uh, YES I mind waiting that long! With at least 10 other oil-change places around, in less than a 7 mile radius, why would I wait that long? Who in the world would wait that long? So, 5 times, I've driven off with no oil change. :( 1 star for poor management. read more

I had to go get my inspection sticker. We are blowing up in Texas with the coronavirus and we have a mandatory mask order. I went to three of them before this one and none of the employees were wearing a mask. I got here and one guy had a mask on, but the guy that opened my car door did not have one on and he got within inches of my face. If I get the virus it's on you guys. Your employees are not taking this seriously and I hope everybody stays away from you until the virus is over because you're putting people at risk. read more

I never liked Jiffy Lube. I never trusted what they were telling me, and hated when they always try to upsell me on their products. This Jiffy Lube wasn't as bad. The staff who wrote my order suggested, but didn't push hard when I said no to some of the extras. The work was done relatively quick on a weeknight. So why only 3 stars? First, the price. I suppose never been to a Jiffy Lube in TX, I don't know what the going rate is, but in CA, oil change was under $30. But JL was charging close to $50. But they had the 'manager special' with $10 off. But I think the manager special is an every day, all time deal so I don't understand why they just don't lower the price to begin with. Second, they didn't know how to reset the "ENG MAINT" light on my Prius. You have to push certain buttons in a sequence after an oil change to get the light to go away. Unfortunately, the JL staff didn't know and I was getting impatient, so I went home and took care of it myself. This is the first time that a station didn't know how to reset the button. Overall, I wouldn't go back unless I was in desperation for an oil change. read more

Most of the staff is very polite here. But there's one older white guy who is asking the customers their opinion on NFL players taking a knee, lecturing people on how the flag stands for all people and nobody should kneel, how young people don't work anymore and you can't even trust doctors because they're too lazy to study and there won't be any social security left and on and on. The whole time I've been in here he's been sizing up each customer to figure out what social or political topic he can lecture them on. It's pretty amazing. This was the second jiffy lube I visited today because the first was out of my oil. This location was as well. I expressed my disappointment (respectfully) but I understood. Then the guy offered to give me platinum oil for $20 off for the inconvenience. This meant a lot to me because I was willing to come back later. The fact that he wanted to help a customer and realized that establishing good customer relations is sometimes more important than making money meant the world to me. This platinum oil ended up costing pretty close to what regular synthetic would cost. These guys need a pat on the back. Kind, efficient, reasonable. The only reason I put less than five stars is so the higher ups see this and work to ensure the appropriate amounts of all resources are being ordered on time. read more

This Jiffy Lube cost me $829 dollars in repairs because they over tightened my lug nuts! And they said they did it properly and said it's not their fault. My only recourse is a lawsuit which is too much time and money so I want to alert Yelp users to stay away from this Jiffy Lube!!! I had my wheels rotated and my center caps were stuck on there and the technician alerted me to the issue. I went home and removed the wheels myself to try and remove the center caps. As I was removing the lug nuts all of them were extremely tight. So tight I broke one trying to get it off. All i have is a manual tire iron. On the fourth wheel I couldn't remove 3 of the nuts at all. I called Jiffy and they told me how they have a brand new impact wrench and it was set properly. Obviously not. There were even metal shavings on the lugs after I took the nuts off. I decided to take it into Firestone to have them remove those nuts and fix the one I broke. Firestone found out that the bolts for 3 of the lugs were stripped inside the wheel hub of the tire i couldn't remove! There is no way to get the tire off. They had to drill out the lugs from the back side. It took all day. The wheel hub assembly had to be replaced. I spent all day and $829 to get my car fixed. I called corporate and they said it wasn't their fault. So, be very careful to go to this Jifffy Lube. They obviously broke the lugs. 4 of them! And they claim that they didn't over tighten... Yeah, right. If you reach out to me I will revise this post. I understand mistakes happen and I'm sure it was unintentional but i shouldn't have had to pay that bill. read more

Paid over $80 for this oil change. The oil change was done, but none of the other services. The receipt shows that the car was vacuumed, washer fluid refilled, and windows cleaned. They were not completed. There are also grease marks on the driver's side door. I could have paid less for an oil chance and received better service. read more

I went there to get my oil changed- they "suggested" the synthetic oil (grand total of $99), and when I asked the guy why I needed synthetic vs regular (and that i preferred they just do regular), the guy with the blonde curly hair told me "it's not recommended". "Okay, but why?" He said, "if you wanna leave and do your research you can." He didn't bother explaining my options or anything else and just stared at me after with a dope look on his face- probably because he knows just as much as I about cars. I laughed and walked out. I use to always have oil changed at this location but don't come here anymore. The cost of their full synthetic oil change is almost $100. I would always look and print the jiffy lube coupon to save a few dollars but sometimes forget the coupon and pay full price. The last few times I needed an oil change I went to Walmart and they have same full synthetic oil change for $49.99 with no coupons required and they've always gotten me in & out in less then 1 hour. they also top off fluids and vacuumed car. Jiffy lube staff is nice and professional and i noticed over the years they've backed off the pushy sales pitch for adding additional services, however Walmart is just much less cost and appears to be as fast and convenient. Sorry Jiffy lube, if you can adjust your prices so that I don't have to hunt for coupons I may come back. read more

Since I moved to Austin I have been going here, they are a friendly staff, know what they are talking about and give a good vaccum to your car. I like the IN N OUT, quick and good service... I will stay here for now, as a solo woman I feel they don't try to mislead you or try to get you to pay for something else done to your car.
