I feel bad for my baby, her oil change is well overdue and she is hatin' me for it. I used Yelp to find my a trusty, quick oil change. The only place close enough to me was ME Johnson with a decent rating. Since it was my day off, I rolled out of bed bright and early at 1PM to get my oil changed (jealous, yea you should be.) To my horror, I witnessed a 10 car line and I was not interested in spending my lovely day off in a smelly waiting room with other grumpy customers waiting to get their car serviced. I zoomed past the Jiffy Lube on Guadalupe/38th, a 6 car line for sub-par service. I decided one last shot at the Jiffy Lube on Lamar. As I passed by, it was a peculiar site...one car in the lot.... what is this.... is it a trap? I took my chances and headed up. I was happily greeted by the assistant manager and made my way to the waiting room. He did the typical, "You should change this, You should change that" but it wasn't my first time around the block and I informed him that any maintenance would be done by myself or my dad. He didn't force the services on me. Honestly, as long as you stay strong and don't give in, you won't pay ridiculous price for a simple oil change. After 10 minute of waiting, my car was finished for a total for about $30. I was pleased to see the mechanic open the door for me and seeing my car completely vacuumed was impressive! Saved me a couple bucks at the car wash. Great customer service! I am definitely coming back! read more

Staff is super friendly, fast, and helpful! The underbody shield of my car snatched off when i drove through the storm last night and was hanging on the ground. They literally heard me coming down the street and waved me into the drive thru. Fixed the issue in less than three minutes and didn't even charge me. 1000/10! read more

I had gone to one other Jiffy Lube in my life and had a typical "service guy tries to make a young girl feel like an idiot by trying to sell her services that she doesn't need and then making her feel like she is ruining her car when she refuses" experience. Because of that, I was a little hesitant to try out this location... but it had been a LONG time since my last oil change and this location was really really convenient. This Jiffy Lube was awesome! Even though all of the bays were full when I arrived, I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. They even vacuumed my car for me and checked all of my fluid levels. Everyone I spoke with was extremely courteous and respectful. None of the service guys made me feel like an idiot, and they didn't try any high-pressure sales tactics to guilt me into services that weren't necessary. I will definitely be returning for future oil changes! read more

The staff was very nice and helpful besides the fact that they damaged my tire sensors while rotating my tires. After leaving from having my oil changed and tires rotated, my Check Tire light came on. I went back 3 times until they told me I'll just have to go to the dealer to get it fixed. Seems messed up to me that I now have another car bill I'll have to pay when I just needed my oil changed. read more

I am writing this review because I totally agree with the yelper Taylor T. In a word, this place is a scam. My situation is almost the same with Taylor. Three months later, they still do the same thing: force you to do the significant service--before explaining what it is-- and use the synthetic oil(price ranging from about 50 to 100). If you insist using the conventional oil, they will say nothing. When everything is done and you got to pay the bill, they will "kindly" remind you of the danger the oil it may cause. I asked why they didn't say that earlier, the woman gloated with a "smile" and did not say anything. After I paid almost 50 dollars, all I get is bad attitude and wrong type of oil. I give 1-star review because: 1.Lack of communication. I clearly said I only wanted to have a oil change, nothing else. But they did not do as I said. And they never explained what is the result of your choice. 2. This place is pricey. I know this place's location may contribute to its high price, but $50 for one-time oil change in Austin. You must be kidding me. 3. Never believe the ad outside, it says $29.99. But we all know that is not true. Update:Nobody ever contacted me even if I gave them my email address and phone number. These guys are the absolute BEST. I have been to three places for my TX inspection, and they are the only ones to have printed me a comprehensive report as to the fault codes and what I should do to fix them. Aaron even showed me a cool trick to keep my headlights from fogging up. This team was also incredibly friendly and I KNEW I wasn't getting ripped off with any of their recommendations. There was also a good team rapport between, which I could tell helped them work very quickly together. When one of them replaced a part, he actually brought me outside to show me the old part because he said he wanted customers to know they are actually doing what they say they're doing. One last thing: I noticed that Aaron often spoke in metaphors with customers when describing what was wrong with their cars. I think this is a perfect example of someone who knows how to use their skills and expertise and translate that into good customer service. Small qualities like these are huge differentiators within these chains. Finally, two customers mentioned how quick they were. So, even with a bottleneck like me ahead of them, the service is still timely. Great service! read more

I've gone a couple times now and have been very happy with my results each time. When I needed an oil change they tipped me off to a coupon. When I needed a small piece of my car reattached they did it for me very very affordably. I didn't think they'd catch me, but I'm loyal to that shop these days! Staff is great & courteous! read more

So the Jiffy Lube on Guad wouldn't change my oil filter because I have a header, but this one would. The service was quick and the staff was courteous, attentive, and explained everything in detail, which did feel a bit like up-selling at some points, but was still appreciated. Two people complimented me on my car. This isn't always what mechanics do. Some mechanics bag on a car in order to create insecurity and sell unnecessary service or unnecessary new cars. So I appreciated that the technicians here made me feel proud of my vehicle. I also noticed that there is at least one female on staff, who performed a function just as important as anyone else's, and it seemed like a very progressive, diverse, and gender-egalitarian place to work. I recently went in for an oil change and state inspection. After a bit of waiting (like 30-40 minutes, it was a busy day), they came in to tell me that "the machine [for state inspections] wasn't reading my computer," and that "a sensor might be off or something." The guy was kind of looking away as he told me these things, and it seemed a little fishy, but I drive an older vehicle so I figured I'd take them at their word and have my mechanic check it out. They finished the oil check, took the state inspection off the bill, and I left. I took it to my mechanic, and lo and behold, nothing is wrong with my computer. I know places don't make much money off of state inspections, so my guess is they were falling behind and their "jiffy" status was at stake, so they made up the computer issue to save some time and avoid a profit-less operation. They also tried to up-sale a few things (as is expected in these type of chains), which is always a little annoying. That being said, everyone was very friendly, and the oil change seemed fine, which is why it's the 2 stars instead of 1. But that honesty thing - that's a big deal to me. It wasted a lot of my time and has caused quite an inconvenience trying to get my car to my mechanic, just to find out I really didn't need to take it in the first place. That issue alone is why I will not return to this location. read more

I went in for a routine inspection. The person on site for inspections asked me if I had had my brakes looked at recently. I informed her I had not. She said she was going to have to fail me because my car was shaking as the brakes were applied. She kept asking me very technical questions about my car, as if I know more about cars than she does. It was a very confusing experience. Eventually she agreed to not fail me, but not pass me either. It was a waste of time basically. I took my car into NTB and there is NOTHING wrong with my brakes and they were able to complete my inspection no problem. I don't know what is going on with Jiffy Lube, but this location needs a better on-site inspector I think... read more

These guys deserve some recognition! I walked out to my car, only to see my tire flat (in pouring rain). I called over to jiffy lube to see if they could help me (I work nearby). Immediately, Joe said with no hesitation come by! They saw me right away, helped me put my spare tire on and gave me recommendations on how to get it fixed. Greeted right away. Very nice and informative staff. I drive a Volkswagen Jetta and it's imperative that I have a certain oil, and I didn't even have to make that known because they asked me right away. Came in around 2:30 and was finished in 10 minutes. They also provide free checks for leaks, brake fluid, windshield fluid, tire pressure, and a few others at any jiffy lube in the country. I showed up to renew my inspection and after waiting an hour and a half they fumbled with the inspection sticker so much I had to tape it to the bike to get it to stick. I came in right when they opened on a Sunday morning and was able to get in and out in 30 minutes. Everyone I interacted with was extremely polite and efficient. However if I had not waited until the last minute prior to a road trip, I definitely would have gone somewhere else because they are extremely overpriced. They charged me $100 for a synthetic oil change. That's about $30 more than what my go-to oil change shop charges. I was very happy with my experience at this location. I went for an oil change and tire rotation but didn't end up getting either because I was told I could wait a little longer. Kollin was extremely helpful and attentive. He checked my tires before I even got out of the car, and let me choose whether to have them rotated or not since they didn't really need it. He made sure not to 'up-sell' me on anything or convince me to get something I didn't need. I knew I needed a new battery and brought this up to the mechanic. He quickly checked the status of the battery and determined it did need to be replaced. They had the battery my car needed in stock and replaced it within 20 minutes (even when they were really busy!). I will definitely be coming back here for my next oil change/service. read more

I went to get my State Inspection done. I just moved from Oregon, so i needed my original certificate printed out (but i did not know this at the time). Their printer was broken (needed new ink) so they couldn't print out a certificate for me. I went to the Tax Office with a print out i got online. They wouldn't take it. Went back to Jiffy Lube and asked how they could resolve this for me. I got the inspection done, but without the certificate it was useless to me. I went to a different auto place and they were actually able to print out the certificate that Jiffy Lube had done the day before. Great, i thought. So i went BACK to Jiffy Lube because they needed to sign the certificate. The manager would not sign the certificate because he wasn't the person who did the inspection, another employee did. It was a complete waste of time for me to go here and try to deal with this. I'll never come back to this location again. How about keeping your printer fixed, or at least getting an ink cartridge for new Texas residents who need an actual printed out certificate. Or at least tell me before hand that your printer isn't working so that i can go somewhere else and not waste my time. I was told the printer had been out "for quite some time." read more

Granted there was nothing they could do since this is only an oil change spot. I had to stop in an emergency! The oil change I had received at my dealership 2 days earlier resulted in me having no oil. (that's another yelp review). I pulled in at 5:30. I was immediately greeted and I explained my situation. The guys were great. They showed me what was wrong and fixed it. I was out of there within an hour! They are so personable. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of. They explained everything to me and told me what to take pictures of so I could share with my dealership. Basically they saved my car! I highly recommend them. There isn't a fancy waiting room, but so what? You get good trustworthy service. read more

After being a loyal customer for 12 years I will no longer be taking my business to these people . Not only did they not do what I asked them to do with my vehicle but than had the nerve to lie to me and tell me they had done it . When they were done with my vehicle there was some air caps to my tires that were missing than I was told that they were gone before when I know for a fact that they were on them upon arrival. I have always had a problem with Jiffy Lube but decided since I was only getting an inspection and no work needed to be done on my car I would give it another shot. HUGE mistake! They made me by a new set of windshield wipers when I only needed one and then told me I needed a new battery and failed my car. I then took my car to a Honda dealership since I had a warranty on my battery and was informed there was nothing wrong with my battery. Sounds like fraud to me. What a waste of time and money, do not go here unless you want to unnecessarily replace parts on your car. read more

Nat and Angelo were awesome, and they went above and beyond and even helped DISASSEMBLE MY GIRL'S BIKE so it could fit in my car. I was driving across the country, and they offered awesome, helpful advice for my road trip. They cleaned bugs off my windshield and other parts of my car, too. All I went in for was an oil change, and I know the window thing is included in 'other services' but they're not required to clean dead bugs off the front of your side mirrors. But they did. Best. Nat is amazing. I'm a woman, and whenever I go to an auto shop I get prepared to be treated like an idiot. So I went to this Jiffy Lube for a spot inspection and an oil change. I drive in, and am met by Nat. Nat is warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgable. I hop out of my car, clearly a little nervous, and she says, "Ma'am, don't worry. We're gonna take care of you." She looks at the car, walks me through what she found and what she recommends I do, and she tells me how I can save money with the current coupons. Her confidence really set me at ease, and her recommendations all made sense to me. I got my oil changed, my engine flushed, and my tires rotated. Nat is the best.
