Still so convenient. Still so questionable. I want to love these guys. Oft-used phrase on Yelp alert. However, it's so hit or miss... and IMHO mostly a sloppy miss. I needed an oil change and an inspection. "Oh sure -- this shouldnt take more than an hour." Fake lie. The pro-cedure took almost 2.5 hours. NBD if I could internet while I was there but they dont have internet. They have some magnavox CRT 10" TV and an inspection person that apparently loooooooves to gab. I don't know what that dude has to opine on but apparently many many things. At one point, I almost walked out to be like dude... are we doing this? I wrangled my car in time to avoid some of the traffic headed to San Antonio but it was super obvious that they didn't really care. Sadly this is exactly what I expect from Jiffy Lube in general. Jiffy Lube! Get a lube in a jiffy! So I like going to this jiffy lube, not only is it near my house, but it is easy to walk over to target or petsmart while they are doing what they do. The service is average for these types of establishments and unlike getting an oil change at walmart they have yet to forget to put oil back in after draining it. (don't ask) The waiting room is tiny, 4 chairs I think some missing parts. There is a dirty dirty looking coffee pot, but the coffee was not half bad. The manager recognized me the last time I went in and gave me a decent discount since he saw in the records that I had only been going there for over a year. A nice touch. The first jiffy lube I went by today said they didn't have the oil or oil filter I needed to get the job done.( I have a newer model European vehicle) Steve's jiffy lube said go right across the street and pick it up from the auto store and we will discount you the labor for the inconvenience. They got the job done quick and gave me an additive for my oil that would help my turbo run smoother. (I can't remember what it was called). The total for the additive and labor plus the amount I paid for the oil came out to just under 100 dollars. Where my last oil change came out to 120 at a different shop for just a basic oil change, it didn't include the 30 dollar additive they gave me. On top of the great service Steve was very positive and welcoming. He let me know I didn't need a tire rotation and explained why instead of charging me and doing the job anyways. I have always preferred to go to a privately owned shop instead of a corporate chain but Steve gave me more information about my car than any privately owned shop I had been to prior. All in all a good deal and very personable nice folks! My best oil change experience to date! read more

Both of the guys working were friendly and didn't make me uncomfortable by trying aggressively to up-sell me. They listened to what I wanted and then gave it to me. Came here on Monday afternoon, they were pretty busy and were def short on staff. I could tell the two guys who were on though were busting their butts to get people in and out as quickly as possible. Also even though they had been working all day they were just the sweetest and their customer service was on point. This Jiffy Lube is consistently understaffed because of high employee turnover. Whoever still works there is overworked and unable to deliver the level of service Jiffy Lube is often known for providing. Disclaimer - service was great for the first few times I came here and it's been consistently bad for the past 4-5 times I've been here. This is the most convenient JL for me to get my oil changed, but I will go elsewhere until I see that it's gotten better. If you do end up here, expect long waits, poor communication, and lackluster service. Not because the technicians aren't talented, but because they don't have enough employees to staff a full operation. read more

I love Jiffy Lube, yet this experience belies the good service they offer at other locations. I was referred to this store by the manager at the Spicewood Springs location who, by the way, is very professional. He suggested that Chris, the manager at this location, would be able to change a valve cover gasket. I went into the shop on a Saturday afternoon. After speaking with Chris, he referred another gentleman, Alvin, to help me, get the car's vitals, etc. Alvin was very personable, got rhe info, and turned me back over to Chris; both assured me they would order the part and call me in a couple of hours. No call, so I called and spoke with Chris (remember, he's the manager) on Monday. He said that he had "lost" the paper with my information and blamed someone else for not ordering the part. (Amazingly he appeared to find the paper while we were on the phone...) Told me it would be two business days to receive the part and he would call me on Thursday. Today is the following Monday; a week has gone by with no followup from Chris to schedule the repair or even to say whether the part has been delayed. He's a nice guy, but if I were the owner, I would want the proverbial "buck" to stop at my manager. Hopefully, their attention "under the hood" is better than their attention to customer service. I'm headed elsewhere for this simple repair. read more

It is rare but refreshing to find such honesty to corrected with such professionalism. The staff is always polite and courteous. I received excellent Professional Service. There was an issue with the oil pan which had to be replaced. A rental cars was offered if I needed one. They even gave me a ride home while they made the repairs with no out-of-pocket cost to me. They did everything in their power to correct and repair my car. Marco, coworkers and friends stayed way late after hours Into the Night. And went over and Beyond to make the repairs needed to get me back on the road. My car is back on the road and running beautifully. The absolute worst jiffy lube in town. I just moved into the neighborhood 6 months ago and this is my fourth interaction with these clowns. These guys have a lot of INCONVENIENCE to offer. What a waste of business space in the neighborhood. I went to get my motorcycle inspected and the guy said he couldnt do it because the ground was wet from the rain. WTF? And... Their phone line is constantly busy. I challenge you to call them now, see if you can get through. Ive always gone to the jiffy lube on lamar/34th st. They always accomodated my request to recycle used oil and coolant. Always friendly reasonable. This jiffy lube.... "I can only take 2 quarts of your used oil and coolant. You'll have to take the rest to a fire station to recycle it." WTF? Im hoping this jiffy lube location is taken over by starbucks. That will offer up a lot more convenience to a lot more people in the neighborhood. Update: I ended up going to the jiffy lube on Anderson by wal-mart, and got my bike inspected there. Lo and behold, the ground wasnt too wet to get my bike inspected. Why? Because he didnt need to ride it! A thorough inspection was done and i was on my way! Now i can get it registered! read more

So I've been to this Jiffy Lube three different times, and each time it wasn't a great experience. The first time, I needed an oil change. I pulled around back, gave them my keys, and waited. And waited. And waited. After an hour, I asked how much longer it would be. I am not normally impatient, but I was worried I would miss an appointment that I had scheduled. They apologized and said they were understaffed. 45 minutes later, they finally finished. I was late to my appointment. That's okay, they were understaffed, it happens. Then a few months later, I need another oil change and a car inspection so I could renew my registration. I pulled up, a woman came out, and I told her what I needed. She said their "car inspection guy" had already left for the day (this was at 4pm) and they wouldn't be able to do it. I said okay, I'll come back tomorrow. Will he be in then? She said she didn't know. So I left. I came back the following week, at 11am. I didn't want the "car inspection guy" to be gone. There was a car in front of me. I pulled up, and waited. And waited. And waited. Just to be GREETED. The car in front of me ended up leaving after 15 minutes. I saw employees walking around back and forth, but they were purposely not looking at my car that was waiting. Finally, after 20 minutes of just waiting to be acknowledged, a guy came out to my car. I told him I need an oil change and a car inspection. He said they weren't doing inspections today. After seeing the look on my face, he said they are understaffed and don't have time to do inspections. Then he moved on to the next car. No remorse for making me wait just to turn me away. No apologetic tone- he actually said it pretty rudely. Very poor customer service. I tried to be understanding the first two times, but three times seems to be a consistent pattern. I had never been to a Jiffy Lube before this, but if they are all like this one, I probably won't be coming back (definitely not to this location). They are always understaffed, and their employees do not try to be polite to customers- probably because they are stressed out from being understaffed. This is probably a management issue but who knows. Regardless, I'll be going somewhere else for my oil changes. read more

I stopped in this location on a Sunday afternoon, and I have to say the service was good, but the sense of teamwork was a bit lacking. The assistant manager Daniel came out to greet me immediately, and explained what the wait time would be, which I was fine with. After a few minutes, I realized he was working alone, doing everything upstairs and down, while the other guy (William) was standing by his truck playing with his phone and smoking a cigarette. I would say the other guy did 4-5 cars by himself while this was going on. Great job to the guy doing all the work, but where's the teamwork here? Seems like the manager would want to help get the cars done instead of messing with his phone and smoking while the other guy does all the work. I'll probably be back, but hopefully next time it's a team effort. Feel sorry for the guy doing all the work, you could tell he was frustrated, but did his job well despite the circumstances. read more

So I said forget it. Usually they are all over me to get it done. But this time when I said to do it when I first came in, they don't...?!?! Weird... I've been bringing my cars to this Jiffy Lube since I could drive, which is getting close to 20 years now. They were always quick and friendly, but service has noticeably deteriorated over the last several years. Waits are longer and extra services are pushed harder, but I still kept returning out of habit. Today I showed up for an oil change and inspection, and pulled in front of an empty bay. And waited. And waited. I sat in my car for ten minutes, and no one came out to help me. Plenty of people walked by but no one came to my car. Finally I gave up out of frustration, put my car in reverse and left. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

I took my aging Corolla in for an inspection a couple weeks ago, and it needed some maintenance to pass. The inspection guy, William offered to do it at (upon a quick google-ing) a reasonable price, which he went over with me in detail. I had to leave my car there for the job, and he was in touch with me the entire time about what they were doing and when I could expect the job to be finished. Here is my experience here. Upon arriving after experiencing some of the worst service I could on the North Lamar location I came here. Right away they took my car in for inspection since no one else was waiting in line. I waited about 15 minutes before it was done and everything was good to go. I talked with the manager Chris for a little before it was done. It seems like he really wants this place to do well and knows a pretty good amount about customer service. mister client service manager was about as accomidating as his technicians who ripped me off. let me clarify something that i really shouldn't have to mister h.r. i realize that it's an outdated reagan law and your going to try and justify the shady employee behavior by stressing that however half the vehicles registered would fail inspection if this ridiculousy acient law was enforced 100% of the time. second off your inspector didn't have to plug the machine in to tell me the tint was to dark therefore he had the intention of failing me for a very transparent infraction all along. folks i would strongly caution against ever stepping foot in a jiffy lube . read more

Today I took my Kia Forte in for an oil change. I was greeted by the friendly staff, and didn't have to wait long at all. It took less than 30 minutes to have my oil changed, and they even vacuumed my car for me. It was raining, and they were considerate enough to allow us to just get inside our car right inside the garage instead of driving it out into the parking lot where we would've gotten all wet had we walked to our car. This place was such a waste of time and money. Don't ever take your car here for an inspection. They will fail you for your emergency brake. They don't understand the law. I had my husband adjust it and they still failed it. He adjusted it to the point he said he felt it was unsafe and it still failed. During all this I went back several times (because the inspector was NEVER there or their equipment wasn't working). I finally gave up and went somewhere else and passed immediately. read more

I went in for an inspection and it looked like a fairly clean location. There was a fresh pot of coffee, the bathroom was adequately clean and the staff seemed to not hate their jobs. Everything was explained thoroughly and I felt they were genuinely trying their best to help me solve the problems I was having, to the best of my budget. At least, that was my experience and that's the most I can hope for with these places! read more

Bought a signal light for my car at Advanced Auto Parts, then went across the street to Jiffy Lube, asked how much to change the light bulb manager said $12.98, since I had tried but to no avail I was not able to remove the bulb, I said sure. They proceed to try to remove the bulb but it was installed backwards, the GM Mr Williams noticed that I had my own bulb he said no charge. They tried for about 20 minutes to remove it, they finally did, replaced it and the GM was able to replace the bulb after a few tries took him about another 10 minutes to finish the job all along making surely the bulb was working. The GM and his staff are awesome. read more

After being a jiffy lube customer for over two decades, I decided to stop into this location for a top off of oil as my light had come on indicating that I was low on oil. William, the GM, told me he would move a car out of the bay and to pull mine in. William asked where my jiffy lube sticker was and I let him know I had recently purchased this car from someone and didn't have a sticker yet. He said he would not know which oil to put in the car and that since I am not a customer he could not top off my oil. I let him know that I was a customer, just hadn't yet serviced this car with jiffy lube, however, I was happy to pay for the oil. William said that jiffy lube does not top of oil, that's not what they do. I again let him know I would be happy to pay for the oil and he sighed and became more agitated and said "just this once". Then he opened my car door (I was still in the car) and became further frustrated that there was not a SKU tag letting him scan to look up the type of oil. I told him I could probably look it up online if that would help. He then told me to pull out of the bay and to wait and he will be right back. He came back and very aggressively told me there isn't a way to look up the type of oil and I let him know I will go somewhere else. He then shut the hood of my car and said "have a bad day". I am not sure if William was having a bad day, or if this is normal William, however, this was completely unacceptable and put a very sour taste in my mouth about jiffy lube. And he is a general manager?! Shocking. Customer service is key... always. PS. The competitor down the street was able to find the SKU right by the oil tank under the hood. read more
