Came here with my brother this afternoon and I'm still here... He needed an oil change and state inspection and I needed a state inspection. After we got here his car got serviced and checked up first. During this time, 5 other customers arrived (AFTER us). My brother's car finished and he left. I assume my car was next but apparently not. I literally watched 4 of the new customers get serviced and they left. Do they not go by the order of how customers arrive? When they were pulling the 5th persons car I literally had to go out there and ask what the hell was going on. He simply said "sorry people just kept coming". Wow really? I told him this was ridiculous and that I'll get it done somewhere else then he said sorry I'll get right on it. Needless to say, they need to improve how they handle customers. I will not be coming back here for anything and if you value your time, you probably shouldn't either. EDIT: Finally finished the inspection. Sticker is put on all crooked, flakes from scraping off the previous speaker is all over the place and what's worse is that it's stuck in the holes of my speaker that's right under that sticker area. read more

I wonder if Yelpers are confusing this Jiffy Lube with the one on N. Lamar, because this one is good and the other one is not so good. I used to own a lemon, so I'm used to mechanics trying to rip me off. Not here. No sexism, either. They're up front with costs for whatever you need, the service is fast, and they actually perform the services you paid for. The clear glass in the waiting room allows you to watch the mechanics while they service your car. I've been to this Jiffy Lube for oil changes and inspections and I've never been overcharged or up-sold, though every Jiffy Lube goes through a list of all the services they offer when you check out. When I went in for an oil change yesterday, the mechanic who checked in my car told me up front that if my coolant was low, it would be $3.99, and he would ask me if I wanted it topped off before he did it. Very cool. One star off for over-filling my oil. Usually on Sundays they have $10 off oil changes. read more

First dude was chill, friendly, and in a good mood, guided me in for vehicle inspection and got the basic info. The second dude was a jerk. Bad attitude and tone of voice from the moment he walked up to my car. Ended up saying he wouldn't inspect my car because I don't have a physical insurance card, just the one in my phone. His lazy azz was just trying to be d!ck because he found out his girlfriend is cheating on him or something. Cool beans son I'm not even going to argue with you, I already know there's plenty of shops that'll get it done right now. I LITERALLY drove around the corner and there was a drive up inspection spot that got me in and out in 20 minutes. You guys can kick rocks. read more

Do not come here for regular maintenance. While they were servicing my car and doing a tire rotation, I witnessed as my car almost fell off the platform and rise to a ~135 degree angle before the mechanics caught my car with the weight of their bodies. After they completed an oil change, I got on the highway with speeds at 70 mph and heard a piece of metal under my car scraping against the concrete. Had to stop at another mechanic on my road trip and they put a screw in because Jiffy Lube forgot to put a screw back. Also, I had to get my car serviced AGAIN a week later because Jiffy Lube put the wrong kind of oil in. $400 due to JL's mistakes. Don't come here. read more

Justin and his team were Fan Freaking Tastic! I honestly have never had such an Amazing experience at Jiffy Lube, they were so professional, informative, kind and welcoming. They ran those Bays like a well oiled machine with such precision it was quite impressive. I got an oil change 5 weeks ago here and my car has been making a mild noise since but I didn't think too much about it. Then the engine light started coming on/off- according to google that's pretty bad. So my insurance towed it to a shop where they said there was no oil in it- they asked where I went I said jiffy lube and they said this is not uncommon. Don't go here. read more

THE WORST PLACE FOR OIL CHANGES IN AUSTIN, bar none. First they lie and tell you on the phone when you call ahead that they have the right oil for your car. (You won't discover that this was a lie for a while, sorry.) Next, they drain the oil. Then they call you out & want to sell you all the car repairs you do not need. You are the woman who has bought all her own cars, earned every penny to pay for them, and who could still change the oil if your hands weren't robbed of strength by a particular disease. Next, they tell you THEY DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT OIL FOR YOUR CAR!!! After you tell them to give you your car, it's still sitting 10 minutes later with hood up & air filter out. Now they say they have something sort of oil that's "sort of the same." Who do you believe, the questionable protoplasm in front of you or the one who spoke first, honestly? Got my oil change here. Waited about an hour which is longer than usual. Also the price of $105 dollars for an oil change and one fluid top off seems steep (I had a coupon for $10 off so it came out to $95). Also every time I've come in, they forget to turn off my MAINT REQ'D light which isn't bad but just kind of annoying (you can learn how to do it yourself though). My oil change was done super fast and the guys in the shop even fixed my engine splash shield when a screw came loose and the metal got a little bent! They were very friendly and reviewed pricing before all services! I was in at 6:15 and out by 6:50! Surprisingly, they don't price match anymore. The service I got was mediocre over the phone and quoted me an inflated price. Do your research before coming! You may find that your local dealership is a better deal, even with Jiffy's "coupons" and such discounts. They will not be getting my business anymore as a local resident unless something changes. Perhaps management needs to review policies and their standards for customer service. read more

So I came to get an oil change on Columbus day cause I have hit the date on the oil change sticker but not the mileage. The attendant actually told me that I don't need an oil change for another 2000 miles because the oil I used last time is meant to go a bit longer. He also showed me the oil stick to see that it was clean. He topped off everything free of charge and send me on my way. I love it when business is honest and doesn't try to sell you services you don't need. I will definitely be coming back for all my future oil changes. read more

My engine light came on indicating that the car needed an oil change. I took it in to the Hyde Park Jiffy Lube. One of the staff said it had not had that many miles on it since the last oil change and the oil on the dipstick was still clear. So they topped off all the fluids checked the tires and said there was no charge. I appreciate their honesty. read more

This place is terrible, over 2 hours for an oil change. I was beginning to doubt if they changed my oil correctly.

My oil was leaking and I needed to get the oil drain plug replaced. I brought my car in on Saturday, and the guy that I talked to was really nice and they fixed the problem quickly and at no charge. Great. However, when I left Jiffy Lube my car smelled like gas. I rolled down the window to air it out, thinking it would go away. Then eventually the engine started making a low hum noise when I stepped on the accelerator, so I stopped and looked under the hood and there was smoke coming off the engine and oil everywhere. I looked down and saw the oil filler cap sitting off to the side. They never put it back on! It made a huge mess. I've been trying to call Jiffy Lube to let them know what happened but it just rings and rings. I called multiple times on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and no answer. I know I have the right number because I checked the website. This is unacceptable. This was my first time at Jiffy Lube and I will not be going back. I don't normally leave bad reviews but not replacing the oil cap is a huge mistake and I can't get ahold of this place and it is very frustrating. read more
