Their emissions testing and inspection designated person quit last week so they have NO ONE there to do inspections or emissions testing of any kind. The mechanic I spoke to was helpful in finding another place to go to, but it seems a poor practice to me that no one else in the shop would be trained to do something that is required by the city of Austin, but I'm not in the auto industry and don't know the job requirements. It would have only cost around $12, which seems to be the going rate, but since it couldn't get done...no value. read more

Inspection person was really polite and professional. Got the job done really quickly but kind of strange that only 1 person can cash people out. Had to wait 45 mins for another person to finish his lunch before i was able to be cashed out. We are faithful Jiffy Lube customers. We stopped here for an oil change . 1) didn't open until 8:10 (manager arrived late 2) they told me that they did not have the filter for my oil change. When I asked if he could call other locations to see if they had one in stock, he stated that he could not do it. Our usual jiffy lube had that issue in the past and called other locations, picked up filter and completed our oil change. This location is obviously not interested in customer service. read more

If I could give a negative one star review I would. I dropped my car off on Saturday and was told they'd have it done Monday or Tuesday. After hearing nothing all day Monday, I called to find out if my vehicle was ready ( they didn't call me of course) and was told it was ready to go. So I arrive to pick it up and am told that they couldn't put my skid plate back on despite trying very hard, turns out the mechanic lost the U nut that helps attach the skid plate. I had to ask what they were gonna do to rectify the situation because Adrian was pretty much saying good luck putting it back on yourself. So after I the customer had to ask how they would fix their screw up Adrian says oh I guess I can go try to find it, after awhile of "looking" Adrian finds nothing. So I have to ask yet again what are you guys going to do to fix this. Adrian says oh I can talk to my manager tomorrow and see what he says maybe we can just order new clips. So I say alright and have him write down on my receipt that they lost the part and are going to replace it. I leave thinking I'll hear from them the next day as promised. 4:30 pm rolls around and I've heard nothing I call and am told their still working on it and that the manager knows about it but he had to leave for a family emergency. I should not have to be hounding them and doing their job after paying over 1000 bucks to have my truck serviced. Absolutely worst mechanic experience ever. Really disappointed. Edit: I've added a picture to show the condition my skid plate was returned to me in. EDIT: When I returned on Thursday 2/29 because the T nuts arrived I had to wait 10 minutes while they looked around in some office for said T nuts. To top all of it off they did not even offer to finish their job by installing the skid plate, they just sent me on my way. I came by Wednesday at 5PM to get a state inspection. I was told that there hours for an inspection are 10-4PM Wednesday through Saturday. These limited hours make zero sense in the middle of a busy city. So I diligently arrive on Saturday at 12:30 for a state inspection. I wait for nearly 20 minutes before I am told that the inspector will be gone until 2:30 PM. This outfit has done nothing but waste my time. read more

I just went through this Jiffy Lube before a trip to Dallas thinking that all I needed was a new air filter. Turns out my engine was in serious trouble and needed new spark plugs right away. They were closing in 30 minutes and not only called multiple places for parts, but two mechanics stayed super late to help with repairs. They could have just told me it was my own fault for not paying attention to my car but instead they made it work and were SUPER patient through and through. I think this is the place where I took my car for an inspection in February. It wasn't right on I-35 as the Yelp map makes it appear, it was, I believe, a bit west of a home improvement store at the corner of the I-35 frontage read and Stassney. Well, assuming I've got the right place: I took my car there for a state inspection. The service was normal, just what you'd expect at a chain oil change place. I don't think they were particularly busy. The reason I give them a 5 was that they fixed my falling-apart Honda car key without me even asking. My key had been falling apart and had been getting worse and worse. Sometimes the metal part had fallen out of the plastic enclosure altogether. I always had to hold the key together when using the key. As I said before, when they handed the car to me, the guy said that he had glued it together (or something like that) and that I needed to be careful because the glue was still a bit wet, which I could see. But, now, the key is like new. And, they didn't charge me anything for fixing my key. (I was looking at $4-$20 to get it fixed.) Now, that's great customer service! read more

I came to get my oil changed, and my a/c recharged. My a/c bad been blowing hot air, and after I told them and before they started, they took a look at my a/c to assess the situation. Turns out my A/c clutch wasn't turning, and they said doing a recharge wasn't necessary since it wouldn't solve the problem. They went above and beyond to help me figure out what was wrong with it, AND saved me money! Josh, Sokovya(forgive me if I misspelled it), and Shane really helped me out and I'm incredibly grateful! I needed an inspection and the I was the only client at the location at the time. The employees knocked on the door of the employee room to get Shane N to do my inspection. I waited for about 15 minutes and finally went inside to see what the hold up was. I don't know if he was on break, but I just wanted to give them my keys so I could use the bathroom and didn't want to miss him. When I came out of the restroom he gave me mad side eye like I was I inconveniencing him. He was rude, short with me, and stared me down with annoyance as he smoked his vape inside, in my face, which I'm sure is illegal in Austin, while cashing me out. I worked for jiffy lube when I was younger and I would have gotten my ass chewed out/ probably fired by my manager had I ever treated a guest in such a way. I will never use this location again. This place is the absolute worst! Went during the week but "the guy who does inspections" wasn't there that day. Went ahead and got the oil changed. They didn't vacuum the floors or clean the windshield - but checked those things off as "completed" on the invoice. Made me wonder what else they claimed to do without actually doing it. Two days after the oil change I noticed a small puddle of oil in the driveway. It has been growing. This is a 2015 vehicle that never leaked oil before. Three years of no leaking and then it starts leaking immediately after they change the oil - not a coincidence. Update: To be fair, I thought I should update my post. Jiffy Lube didn't destroy my engine. The leak was (apparently) caused by the drain bolt not being tightened all the way. My local mechanic took care of it for me. So now the only problem is the oil stain on my new driveway.... Jiffy Lube will never touch my car again. I wouldn't go there if they offered free service for life. read more

So if I could give negative stars I would. I went into this jiffy lube about 6 months ago to get a oil change, mind you I'm a woman who doesn't know too much about cars, and I guess that was written on my forehead because they told me I didn't need an oil change because it had clean oil. They also showed me that part where the dip stick goes into had fallen out and they just put it back in. I was already having a bad day so I didn't put much effort in to ask anything else. I thought it was odd but none the less I went on my way. Fast forward now 6 months later I notice that My car is now smelling like burnt oil. Mind you I haven't gotten an oil change since because I ended up not needing to drive it as much anymore. My boyfriend checks the car and there's oil everywhere. It obviously doesn't have any oil in it. We take it to his mechanic who then cleans it up only to find out that my oil filter had been jammed back into place and that's where all the oil was coming from. We told him the story about the incident here at jiffy lube and he was pissed. Of course because they technically didn't change my oil and they were in a hurry to get me out of there that I didn't get any paperwork and I was the only customer there at that time with 4 or 5 employees there. So there's no proof that I was even there. Or that they even looked at my car. Good save for saving your company and employees who made a mistake, instead of just being honest about what happened. I've always taken my car to jiffy lube to get oil changes and my family and friends would tell me not to because they suck and I still continued to go and it bit me in my rear. He explains which oil would be best for my vehicle, and he even noticed that I've been putting a lot of miles on it daily...which is true lol. I get a fair state inspection, no-frills, no upsells, didn't try to top off my brake fluid, just checked the car and pointed out things that needed to be fixed. I was in tears and my car desperately needed an oil change. I had a male friend with me who knows NOTHING about cars and that became apparent to the people working on my car after the first question. They post signs everywhere about their special $28 oil change. I had coupons at home for cheaper deals but since this place was close to home, I figured why not... These people tried to take me for a ride. My newer car that had been recently purchased and had had a full eval and everything else was given a poor condition from Jiffy Lube. They wanted to change everything from my windshield wipers (new I had JUST replaced like 2 weeks ago) to my air filter..... They didnt flinch when they told me that my car MUST have the most expensive oil they had ($90 oil change) and for an extra $25 I could get the headlight holders cleaned on the inside. I had had enough. I insisted they give me a decent oil change and be done with it. My guy friend just stood there, not knowing about cars and was asking questions... when those guys sensed he didnt know what was up, they tried to take me. Its such BS that companies like this pray on women and think we are ignorant. I left this place with a $50 plus oil change, All I wanted was a simple oil change and feel like I got screwed. I went to my regular mechanic (CARTER's TRANSMISSION on S Lamar ) and they charged me $31 bucks... I will never return to Jiffy Lube... I am saddened by this practice of string sales and although I know you need to try and upgrade me..... you dont have to lie to me and tell me this is something I MUST have..... Worst service in the world, would be 0 stars if I could, don't take your car here. I go in for a simple inspection, get failed for a lightly fogged headlight. Am told I can come back and just recheck that item. Make the repair and try 3 times to get it checked, a 5 min job, and these clowns are unable to do it because there is either on one there, or its "raining" and they can't work in the rain. First of all, the location of this Jiffy Lube on Google Maps is INCORRECT. It's not 5510 S I H 35. It's actually on E Stassney Ln. Here we go... I came here for a simple oil change and tire rotation which I was told would take 30 min. That made me laugh. It took over an hour which I anticipated, so this didn't throw me off too much. They pulled my car out when it was complete and left it running, which is fine. But here's where it gets... just weird. Quick explanation of an intelligent key if you don't know how it works... My car uses an intelligent key, which means I don't have to put a key into the ignition to start my car. I just push a button. This button, however, requires a sensor to be present and inside the car order to start the car. So my car is running, and I assume that they had put the intelligent key in the center console for me. For this, I gave them too much credit. My intelligent key was nowhere inside car. When I asked the employees what happened with my key, they each put the blame on another employee and it went around in circles like that until I decided they were all completely useless to me. They had "lost" my key. HOW DO YOU LOSE A CUSTOMERS' CAR KEYS?! What makes it even worse is that it was an intelligent key, which can cost around $200 to replace. So in the end, a $20 oil change turned into a $300 "oil change." Thanks Jiffy Lube! I'll be sending you my bill on Monday. ZERO STARS... no, actually, make that NEGATIVE 5 STARS. read more

Well I came here once, late in the day for an inspection and they took me and knocked it out in about 15 minutes. I was impressed. For oil changes i usually hit the Jiffy Lube on S. Lamar, which is consistently good and quick, but i needed an inspection on my other car so i figured I'd do both quickly this morning. That was a bad assumption on my part. First they said they don't do inspections before 11 a.m. Oh well. No big deal. Although it's kind of funny since most of the Jiffy Lubes tell you they don't do oil changes after 4 p.m., so it makes you wonder why they have such a short shift for that task, and why it apparently takes a trained rocket scientist to be able to determine if your headlights are working and if your windshield wiper blades are halfway decent. Anyway, I digress. So I request an oil change. Looks like there's about 3 cars ahead of me and at least four people working, so I figure it's about 15 or 20 minutes. Granted, they did not give me a time estimate. But after about 30 minutes, even though when I pulled in I told them I only wanted a basic oil change, they called me and proceeded to go down there a laundry list of everything they wanted to upsell me on. I actually stopped the guy halfway through and reiterated I was in a hurry and only wanted to basic oil change and didn't want to waste his time or mine. From that point forward, it was about another 15 minutes. Oh, and unless the one on Lamar has recently upped their price, this one is a little more expensive too. All in all, it took a lot longer than it does at the normal Jiffy Lube I go to on Lamar. And even though my initial experience with the inspection was good, I'm not likely to return here. read more

Best customer service ever! I've been to quite a few Jiffy Lubes and various other places to get oil changes but this was by far my best experience. Greeted with a smile, the staff was super helpful in explaining which oil changes they offered but didn't try to push off any unnecessary services. I chose a regular oil change and used a $10 coupon from my phone. The oil change only took about 30 min and the manager, Art, was so friendly and knowledgeable. We asked questions about a noise that occurs when we turn the car on and right away he knew what it was. He even gave us a list of places to get it fixed. I highly recommend this location and I'll definitely be back!! read more
