I took my car in for an oil change ($99 for synthetic) and, as they always do, tried to up-sell me on transmission oil change, air filter and something else. I would never again trust these people with my car, but more importantly, my OWN safety within my car. I'm out approximately 800 dollars because I had to pay Pep Boys (loved my experience at pep boys) to install a new oil pan and drain plug for my car. I had taken it to Jiffy Lube to get regular oil changes when one of the employees pulls me aside to let me know the plug was tightened too hard and oil was leaking. He asked if I had tried to change my oil myself which I DID NOT, why else would I have a greater than 5 year history of going to them for oil changes and top offs? They agreed to fix it by placing an oversized plug and sent me on my way to drive 6 hours to Ohio. In Ohio, a jiffy lube there let me know that it was evident that the oil plug had been tightened too hard by the jiffy lube in chantilly and that it would be dangerous to drive on it because the car can combust if oil leaks onto the engine. Anyway, I spoke with the manager/owner of the franchise to get this figured out and he basically talked down to me and spoke to me like I was an idiot, offered no real apology or remorse. Had I died on the road, it wouldn't have made any difference to him seeing as he still got a paycheck at the end of the day from this poorly run business. Being out 800 dollars definitely was not fun because I am a college student living off of student loans and work.. but what really horrifies me is that they sent me out and told me everything was fine with my car before I drove six hours. I went there recently for an oil change,Not as expensive as going to the dealer, convenient, a few negative points, The waiting room smells horrible, a mixture of old coffee , Tires And motor oil, Every time you go there they will make the same suggestion, mainly change the air filter even though it's not due and they give you crazy prices, And last but not least the next day I discovered that my right headlight was not working, I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the way the technician was sitting over it while changing the oil, other than that, it's a great place to do your car service! read more

I can in for an oil change after ignoring my reminder note on the windshield and the light on the dashboard. It was my first time going to any Jiffy Lube. I chose this location primarily for the convenience of its proximity and the hours offerred. I came in for an oil change then added an engine flush. When I arrived, I was the fourth vehicle while all three bays were full but my service was completed under an hour. I was greeted promptly by Curtis. There was no pressure to add extra services and prices were reviewed before a service was offerred.The employees did not look "sour" despite the weekend morning and were laughing with each other and respectful and friendly to all the customers. While that does not usually affect the quality of work, it does provide a comfortable environment while waiting in the lounge. The lounge itself was neat and clean. There was no smell present. There was no one stationed by the front desk while I was there but the technicians would come by to discuss accounts with customers as needed. Charging cords and coffee were provided and the bathroom was clean. I would definitely return for future services. read more

it's been a while since my experience. I went here because I was pressed on time and jiffy lube is supposed to be an in and out deal. When I went up to the counter to check out she told me the kind of oil they used i had never heard of it. Turns out they put diesel motor oil in my 2.0L turbo Toyota. The manager came and talked to me and tried to tell me it didn't matter. I then waited a second session to have them drain it again and put the correct oil in. The convenience factor went well out the door. I am baffled as to how any one who would ever even apply to jiffy lube could ever look at an MR2 Toyota (small sports car) and think it would be a diesel motor. I will be changing my own oil with good old Mobil1 10w-30 from now on. read more

The purpose of jiffy lube is time savings. You are paying a premium over standard car repair shop for the time. That's lost when they fail to do part of the services you tell them you want. Don't by filters at this place they are very high priced and not worth the cost if you have any skill to replace them yourself! I told them the size of the engine they quoted me a price on the phone then when I pulled it in the shop bay it was an extra $12.00 because it took more than 5 quarts. Surprise surprise! They told me over the phone I could get a $10 discount had to fight for it at checkout! All in all it was quick it took about 45 minutes but not sure I'd go back there again! read more

My car was overheating so I pulled in, the assistant manager came right over and started assessing my problem. I waited for the radiator to cool off then he took my car into a bay. When he came back he said I have a serious leak so he filled the radiator and washed all the anti freeze off my engine and said this should get you home. I asked how much I owed and he said not a thing. I was floored that he took the time to go above and beyond the call of duty. I will be back to jiffy lubes for my oil changes in the future and just can't say enough about the assistant manager at this location. read more

I always find the staff at the Jiffy Lube in Chantilly to be very friendly and professional. They only upsell you on items they feel are needed. I have never felt pressured to take them up ob their recommendations if I was unsure or didn't have the time or budget for it. read more

Ive been bringing my car here for years, since Ive had it actually. My parents have brought their cars here for years as well. The guys here are always so friendly and welcoming. Ive had problems with my tires and get them frequently pumped up here since its free of charge and the guys know me very well. Curtis, the manager always recognizes me and knows that I need my tires pumped up as soon as he sees me. He is very friendly and always helps me out. I get my oil changed here and various other work done here as well and will continue to bring my car here. The guys here are very professional and always so nice! Went in for an oil change. I hadn't been here in years. I asked for a "regular oil change." They got to me right away. Oil change probably took only 10 minutes. When it was time to pay, they said they used synthetic oil and it would be something around $80! As I was just about to sell this vehicle, I had no intention of getting synthetic. I told the I had asked for a "regular oil change" and I wasn't happy to be paying for synthetic. The guy was very professional and said he wanted to keep me happy. Good service, I went at a good time so there wasn't really a line. I have a cold air intake and asked if they could install it for me, while it was the wrong filter they were happy to try which I was greatful for. Prices I'd say are reasonable but they do try and sell you on a bunch of stuff like radiator flushes and I had a license plate light out. I got that fixed for $10 but I'm sure the light itself is probably $3 if I'd do it by myself but anyhow if ya just get the oil change Jiffy lube is a nice place to do it. read more

It was my first time to change oil in Chantilly location. After 10 days of changing oil I found my engine light is on, I checked the oil tank and it was totally empty. I bought oil and putted by myself to the engine. In the morning I went to mechanic shop and they charged me so much money to check why is this leaking. By the end they told me your oil filter and engine cover are not closed, that's why there's a leak. And I requested to leave and not close it and I'm gonna drive myself to jiffy lube to see this with their eyes. And all what they did that they gonna close it and put oil, and I was really mad, I told the manager that I spent money for refilling oil twice and for the mechanic shop, and by the end its all because of you guys. They said we wouldn't pay for anything and we're just sorry. Seriously!! I trusted your company to do a safe job, I expected a clean job/ professional way. I have been coming to this Jiffy Lube for six years. They are quick, consistent, reliable, polite, and I believe honest. Today I came in to get my fluids and tire pressure checked, which is free for regular customers. Dave was great. They took me right away and vacuumed up leaves out of my filter in addition to everything else they check. alert!! buyer beware!! pathetic qa at this location!! your life is at risk with these jokers!! their quality assurance is not acceptable, period!! i paid around $100 for oil change and they recommended tire rotation too...sure why not. well, these slack ass 'mechanics' hardly tightened the driver side front wheel during the tire rotation that they insisted on!! i was headed out of town 20 miles later, to quiet part of west virginia, jumped into the fast lane on 66 and sped up, and the front end of vehicle starts to weeble, wobble and vibrate tremendously!!! pulled over as quick as possibly could - very lucky i was able to. had car towed immediately to a trustworthy shop. this other shop said front wheel was just about to fall off - front driver side lug nuts were horribly loose. people, i was in highway 66 fast lane in rush hour - i barely got to safety!!! these f**king idiots could not provide enough quality assurance to simply tighten my wheels, and there were like 5 techs standing around the day they worked on it!! same fools locked my keys in the car, while on the rack - that distraction probably caused them to forget to finish tightening all my wheel lug nuts during rotation... stupidity on top of stupidity.... totally unforgivable and maximum negligence for something so simple!!! i could have easily been killed, or stranded in bfe with no communications in the middle of nowhere, on a freezing cold night!! this is too idiotic of a mishap to think it's just accidental!! at the rate that mechanics damage my vehicles or slack on replacing what they say they'll replace, it is starting to feel like policy to set us up for failure! these techs either don't give a shit, or are spiting customers! managers seem to care, but what's their remedy? oh sorry, we can give you a store credit for the rotation(!!!!!) what's that? $30? can you please add some more insult to injury!!!!! do you know how much damage just having loose wheels and lug nuts can do? stripping out is the least damage, but these guys don't really care! and that stripping out can increase chances of the same in the future, or having to replace expensive wheels !! they offer only minimal compensation for gross negligence!! definitely will never do business with these guys again!! happy to join a class action lawsuit!! i will say, the management are nice people at this location, and want to help in such extreme fail situations, but some mistakes are wayyy too costly to risk ever trying over again....btw, do you know how dangerous a loose and roaming wheel on the freeway is at high speed? it's not just the car and driver, the public is at high risk in these circumstances too!! note: bring your own torque meter to double-check any tire lug work, and insist on seeing the used oil filters, brake pads, air filters, and anything else they might replace. you would be stupid not to double-check any work done if you want to stay alive longer. Very disappointed after my recent service here. I've been coming here for over 3 years and never had an issue. This past trip, $90 for an oil change (their prices increased even though they used the same kind of oil as the last time I was in) $30 for an air filter change $30 for a tire rotation $150 total is entirely too much, and it would've been $157 but I used a $5 off coupon. I won't be returning here again. There was no reason to increase your oil changes from $70 (already high compared to Midas) to $90.
