As of November, I was at this location 2 years ago and got a new battery put into my vehicle along with an oil change. Come 2 days ago, I went to turn on my car and it wouldn't turn over. Called AAA and, through a comedy of errors, ended up having to get a new battery put in. I found out from the AAA Tech that the battery that was put in my car from Jiffy Lube 21 months ago was not the correct battery for my vehicle, and while there was still charge in the battery, could have caused damage to my car. After getting the new battery (about 5:10 pm), I called up to the location and went in to speak to the manager. I didn't yell or get upset, just explained the situation to Christian, the new manager. He was upset, photocopied all the paperwork I had, took a picture of the battery that was now sitting in the front seat on the floor of my car, and left with the assurance that he would be in touch with me by Saturday. He was so upset by the situation, he must have gotten on the phone as soon as I walked out of the location. I got a call at 8:15 pm. Christian apologized at least 5 times for calling so late, and assured me that they were going to refund me for the battery. He told me his schedule and asked me if/when I could drop the battery that had been in my car off, as well as apologizing AGAIN for the problem in the first place and asked me to give them another chance for service. Top Notch Customer Service! Good as Gold and superb attitude considering that it was 21 months later! I approve highly and can't recommend this place enough... Thank You, Christian! I had a great experience here. I pulled into the drive in and Jorge came out and told me right away that the wait time for everything would be 45min. I literally left for 45 minutes and when I came back my car was already done and they even vacuumed it for me. Everyone at this location was polite and welcoming. Went in for a simple oil change. I was horribly pressured on upsales and my car did not go straight from garage back to me. When I pulled in my AC was fine, when I pulled out it was blowing hot air. Upon my return I told the men there of the issue and they immediately said to check the compressor, not freon which is most people's first reaction, and low and behold my compressor wasn't working. I was then offered a quote for repair. Find another place to take your car! read more

I paid $100 for a synthetic oil change. I decided to go there b/c of their "extra" services (fluid fill up, inside vacuuming, etc.). What I didn't like were their extra "sales"-- telling me it's 'better' for my car. Why would I pay an extra $100 to fill my tires with nitrogen when I already regularly check my tire pressure and fill it up when necessary?!? I came during lunch on a weekday, it took about 1 hr with about 3 cars in front of me. Their waiting space is nice, free coffee, plenty of things to read, and TV. I just hate when people push sales on you. ugh. read more

So i went in for an oil change and maintenance. Mechanic breaks a part on the fuel filter. A 40 minute estimate turns into an almost 5 hour job at a place that prides itself on quick times. While the manager gave me the oil change for free he tried to insinuate he was doing me a favor by not charging me for the extra work they had to do which is ludicrous when they broke the part. I would hesitate to choose a shop like this again and I have been coming here for a few years with no issue but this is a colassal eff up. No more Gaithersburg Jiffy Lube for me and due to this incident and level of response I couldn't possibly recommend this location with a good conscience. 5 hours for an oil change and fuel filter. Quick service and courteous staff. However the shop is not equipped to handle nitrogen-filled tires from both technical and business process perspective. As the tires looked underinflated, I asked to check tire pressure, and was reassured by the service order writer that the tires were checked. Invoice showed 32 PSI front and rear. My tire gauge indicated 20 PSI front, 25 PSI rear after I picked up the car. Returned 10 minutes later. Service order writer recognized that the green valve covers indicate that tires are filled with nitrogen, and acknowledged that they don't check tire pressure of vehicles with green caps as they have no nitrogen tank. None of this information was given at the time the vehicle was initially released, and the invoice falsely claimed that the tire pressure is as specified by the manufacturer. I understand that the franchise employees are under pressure to upsell and turn customers around as fast as possible. However, skipping over potential safety concerns to move customers along is not a great business practice. Reduced tire pressure increases the likelihood of tire overheating, thus increasing the chance of tire blow out. Would've been a 1 star review if it wasn't for the shop offering to add air after the fact. I declined and added air myself at the gas station. if your vehicle has green valve caps, I recommend you do the same. read more

Overall service was fine. I was greeted by both the service tech and desk clerk promptly. They were kind. Jiffy Lube tries to up sell EVERYTHING. Suddenly your car has all these problems, when you only wanted an oil change. You should Know what is necessary & what can wait. Cost is reasonable for conventional oil. read more

One of the best, most professional jiffy lubes that I've been to. Jorge was very nice and walked me into the waiting area and was very pleasant. He then took the time to update me on all that was done and make sure my information was accurate in the computer as well as being personable. I've visited many jiffy lubes in the numerous states I've lived in, and this was definitely the best I've been to. Typically, you aren't greeted or even talked to much when you are getting an oil change. Jorge let me know how long it would take as well as made conversation when going through the paperwork at the end. All establishments should have more employees like that who are as pleasant and helpful as he was. I would certainly hire him to work for my company. read more

Not impressed with this place at all. I have never had an issue with jiffy lube before This place did not do any of the other checks they stated they did . My floor was not vacuumed and I told the manager . He stated that next time he would get them to do it . I get in my vehicle drive away notice my windows have not been cleaned . And then when I go to use my wiper fluid they did not even put any in. When I called the manager now he states that he would have to review the cameras .when I complained more then he says come back. Like that's gonna happen. Now I wonder if they even changed my oil. Don't go here this place does not represent what a jiffy lube store is. read more

I stopped by after work and the assistant manager greeted me at my car. He explained exactly what they would do with a conventional oil change. He then opened my car door and walked me to the customer waiting area where he offered me water and coffee. It was extremely clean and the air conditioning was perfect. Jorge brought me to the computer to show me what he suggested, however he was not too pushy on selling me extras but did make recommendations for the future and explained why these services would benefit my vehicle. The price was reasonable and they let me use a coupon I found online. I would highly recommend this location and will be coming back to this particular location for my future oil changes and other car needs. read more

Took my pickup in for an oil change. While I was in the waiting room, one of the technicians came to tell me that it appeared I had a radiator leak. Knowing that my radiator had not been leaking when I pulled in, I went out to see what was up. Sure enough, radiator fluid was dripping profusely from the general area of my radiator. Having spent a little time under the hood myself, I got down on my hands and knees to see what was up, and quickly identified the problem -- one of the radiator hoses had been disconnected. I am quite sure this was not a careless mistake on their part, but an effort to simulate a problem in order to do more "work" on my vehicle and drive my bill up. In short, these guys tried to pull a fast one on me. I strongly recommend looking for another place to get your oil changed... read more

If you don't mind being fed a line, and paying for something you don't need as well as excessive pricing then go to Jiffy lube. It is easy for someone not very knowledgeable about their car to be taken for a lot of money for a service which most local shops will do for considerably less. I have decided to never go there again! Just one example: Charging $49.99 for a cabin air filter which normally cost from $10 to $20. Labor for less then 2 minutes of time and even disposal of the old filter would not cost $49.99. The work was done at the Gaithersburg, Maryland facility. Trying to contact their main office is not simple either. It appears they do not want to really hear any complaints. Jiffy Lube, you have lost a customer!!! read more

This was my first time at this Jiffy Lube. I was very disappointed with the customer service and the overall service I received. One employee walked out in a fury, yelling about the way he is treated at this job as he proceeded to quit. Another employee came to my vehicle and opened my door without prompting me with any instructions, simply telling me "Get out." After slamming my door behind him, this same employee led me to the waiting room, pointed at a couch, and walked away. That's one star for Customer Service. I had no initial problem with the service I received as they completed my oil change and tire rotation as expected within 20 minutes. The CSA explained my options to me and was thorough in explaining the benefits I receive within 3,000 miles of the change. After I got back into my car, I noticed that the items I had in the cupholder were now on the floor. They had simply thrown my sunglasses on the floor which, according to the invoice, was supposed to be vacuumed, but alas it was not. Lastly, after I got home, I checked my engine bay to follow up on the CSA's suggestion that I top off my power steering fluid. Not only did I find that my power steering fluid was above the 'Max' level, I also found that someone had carelessly snapped the plastic holster for my hood prop rod. The rod now moves around in the engine bay when I drive. Not only am I never going to this location again, I am never going to a Jiffy Lube again, and it is very unlikely that I will allow anyone to go under my hood again unless I know him or her personally. read more

This place is heavy handed on the up-sell. They pushed everything from nitrogen in the tires to an engine flush because the old oil was dark. Used oil is always dark! Say no to everything and you'll do okay here. The place was clean and quick. read more

I called Jiffy Lube on Saturday and Sunday to inquire about the wait times and coupons available at this location during the weekend of jan 27 and Jan 28. I was trying to get my oil changed and i have been to this location several times before without any issues. I was informed this location would accept my 15 dollar discount that i found online for any jiff lube service. I decided to get my oil changed jan 28th and when i first arrived and dropped of my car the service techs were nice nothing out the ordinary occurred and i felt comfortable with the customer service at this point. The problems started when it was time for me to check out and I presented the agent with my 15 dollar coupon that i had saved on my phone without hesitation the agent informed me they could not accept this coupon despite me informing him that another agent confirmed they would accept the coupon. I informed the agent that i had a ten dollar coupon and if that could be used to be used instead he quickly said ok but acted as if he had a attitude. I presented the coupon to the agent and he informed me that he could not scan the bar code on my cell and that he could not accept it despite me showing him a visible coupon that was not expired. The agent then preceded to tell me he could only take 8 dollars off the bill versus ten in which i told him this was unacceptable given the fact the coupon states ten dollars. The agent which i hope wasn't the manager informs me in front of a whole lobby of other patrons well are you really going to do this over a two dollar difference. I informed the agent that while it wasn't a monetary issue it was again about the principles. I could afford the oil change I work in the federal government but my issue was why would you not show a little customer service and honor the coupon or even better just subtract ten bucks from the bill. The conversation wrapped up by me just paying the bill accepting the 8 dollar discount versus10 and then leaving the store. I did not get disrespect the agent however i will not be returning to this location because i did not appreciate how the agent was trying to speak to me in a degrading way in front of customers and he did not handle this situation well. I am a regular at Jiffy Lube, today i went for a top up of fluids, because they advertise this feature all the time. That you can get a free top up of fluids in between the 3000 miles. However when I went there today,they were lacklutre in their service and when I checked the car after. They had done absolutely nothing,but acted like they were working on my car. The coolant and wiper fluid were exactly the same way I had it when I went there. Wasted 20 minutes of my time !!!. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but today while waiting for my vehicle for an oil change, a couple of customers made comments on how great this particular Jiffy Lube services were. I was also very impressed. This was my second visit to this place and both times were impressive, so i decided to write an excellent review. Nowadays you will be lucky if you get anywhere with customer service, this location definitely knows how to give that. Jose went out of his way during this visit by checking how much i should pay for a thermostat i needed to fix my car. He went to a close by auto supply for me. Now, he didn't have to do that, but gladly did. Just saved me a lot of money after finding out the cost compared to an estimate I've received prior. Regarding selling additional services, i think that it is normal to offer this to everyone, now its your choice to accept or do the service. It's called "add on sale" which i think they've done a great job. Not pushy at all! It will be easy to say "No" but it's great to receive recommendations. I was not aware of extra services i should get for my car, but it helps to know the options. If you feel pressured, just say no at least they've done their job. Dave is a good salesperson.
