This 15121 Frederick Rd. Rockville, MD 20850 has very poor service quality. I have bee going to this location for a long time. I will not be going back here ever!! They did not check wiper fluids, tire pressure, vacuum car etc but charge $60 for oil change. The technicians appear not to want to do requested service unless they pile on customers unneeded/ not required/ not requested service. Very reluctant group of technicians only concerned about how much more I was willing to spend. The one girl that works at this location disappeared into the bathroom for 15 mins running water continuously. I thought there was a shower in there. Oh, there is a backroom where they congregate. I do not trust if they did oil change either or install a new oil filter, therefore I am going to have it checked by a reputable workshop. Short wait, in and out in 40 minutes. Very friendly and professional staff. Great customer service. Clean facility. Jamell (I think thats his name) & Dujaun were awesome. I walked in at 08:30am and O was out at 0915. I was greeted immediately, I asked how long of a wait because I was pressed for time. I was told, "No Wait". I drove my truck around the back and they took me right away. I was greeted by the technician ( Dujuan and Jamell) who explained the services and price. I was then escorted to the lobby and offered hot coffee. The staff/customer service is absolutly top of the line. My services were explained to me as they worked my vehicle and after my service was complete. I have always had bad expieriances with Jiffy Lube or other Express service facilities like this in the past so I watched them very closely. This Jiffy Lube location gave my faith back in Jiffy Lube and this location is the best I have ever been too. Jamell and Dujuan my Techs was awesome, clean and professional. Called the Rockville location and decided to make the 20 minute drive of which I'm glad I did! Tires were not filled correctly. one side window was left covered with soap. Bad windshield wiper , completely torn was skipped over. it was a Friday. Clearly they didn't want to be there. I will always go to this Jiffy Lube! They are extremely friendly and are relatively fast even when they're slammed. You can potentially find a deal for a slightly cheaper oil change, but it's worth it to just take it to Jiffy Lube. The service is great, they clearly have a standard routine so they don't forget to check things and the window clean and floor vacuuming is a nice touch. Most recently I bought 2 tires off Tire Rack and they tossed them on for about $35 after I had them delivered right to Jiffy Lube. They were quick and easy about it. I hate jiffy lube. I went for an oil change and left ended up with my exhaust pipe no longer connected to the muffler. it was a miracle that this issue happened the moment I got my oil changed. They denied that they had anything to do with it. My car was fine when I pulled in and when I left there were massive problems. Newly renovated waiting area (it was so clean and nice!) and very friendly service. I drove a bit further to go to this location because they had the highest rating on Google and i see why! Stopped by on a Saturday morning for an oil change and was in-and-out in under 40 minutes. The staff was very friendly and professional, waiting room was bright, clean with all new furniture, fresh coffee and a charging station for my iPhone. Everything was easy and the staff seemed to enjoy doing a good job - they really made an extra effort to do things right and treat me well. Highly recommend! read more

I needed new rear brake pads and rotors for my 2017 Mini Cooper. The dealership was charging me close to $800 so I started doing some research and came to Jiffy Lube and they seemed to have decent prices. Omar and his team were very helpful. They had to order my parts so I was told to come in a day later so I dropped back on a Saturday afternoon. The wait time was a lot as they were very busy and I spent close to 2 hours there. Omar also reset my front brake sensors even though Jiffy Lube didn't replace my front brakes. After everything, I paid close to $490 which was much better than what I was being quoted at other places. Staff is courteous, some more than others. Waiting area is small and can get crowded. They offer water and coffee for people who are waiting. Bathrooms are very clean! read more

I came in just for an oil change. While waiting, they told me my brakes were in poor condition, they were worn down all the way to the point of damaging the rotor, and they needed to be replaced asap. I went home, bought all the materials to do it myself, spent my afternoon changing my pads only to realize they were still in great condition. The thickness was almost identical to my brand new pads I bought. I was so upset. It even says in my oil change receipt that "Front Brake Worn less than 3/32" Remain" which was a total lie. I never thought Jiffy Lube was in the business of ripping off customers like this. Awful. read more

Courteous from the moment you pull in, pointing out the coffee and restroom, then instead of the usual upsell, offered an engine flush with an explanation (there was a lot of sludge), and as a result, I got a FULL gallon capacity back, wow!! I took my car in this afternoon for an oil change . This is by far the friendliest , cleanest and most efficient Jiffy Lube I have ever been to. The sitting area is lovely with a TV water and coffee. Omar was so nice and kept me informed of what was being done till I got my car back . I needed a new air filter and he even brought mine to show me it needed replacing . I usually have fairly good experiences with Jiffy Lube in general, but this particular one...buyer beware. It smells of hard sales tactics, upsells and scams from the second you pull in. They are all very nice and friendly, lots of smiles to go around which is nice. But the fast talk? Give me a break. First, the guy who checked in the car told me "you know this car only takes synthetic oil, right?" That being the most expensive thing they have. I looked it up (while I was there, yay Google and iPhone)...it doesn't. As a matter of fact, it's recommended you NOT use synthetic unless it's certified, etc. etc. In other words...scam. The difference in price? Synthetic is $90. Regular oil is $30. Next, he showed me the air filters. Both the cabin and the engine air filter looked horribly dirty. Like they'd been ridden hard over dirt roads and tar pits for 100k miles. Thing is, 5k miles ago they looked sparkling new, because they were. We haven't changed the places or way we drive since then. There is NO WAY those filters got that dirty that fast. None. That means they were showing me filters that did not come out of my car. They recommended I replace both. Cost...$60 for the cabin filter, $24.99 for the engine filter. I told them no on both. Next, the tires needed to be rotated. I decided to go ahead with that, even though these tires only have 4k miles on them. It's a little early but eh. These tires have wheel locks. When I went to leave, I had to turn back and ask what they'd done with the key. It was in the guy's pocket. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here and say they simply forgot they had it. I can see that happening. But still...I can't even imagine how pissed off and upset I'd have been the next time I needed to change a tire and did not have that key. There'd have been no finding it...I have no idea how they get wheel locks off without the key. I don't want to know...I don't want to have to find out. Add all that together and the original total was almost $200. For an oil change. Oh hell no. If you go here, just say NO to the extras, and know what oil you want going in. Don't let them treat you like you're an idiot. I watched them up-sell two others after me, scaring them with dirty filters and other things they "had" to have done. Here's hoping they did actually change the oil. I won't be going back to this one. read more

Updating my review from 12/03/2021. Within 24 hours of the review being posted the store manager Omar called me, wanting to remedy. He wasn't making excuses, but they usually reset the tire pressure after they complete the tire rotation - which couldn't be done due to the condition of the lug nuts. (Again, my daughter's car.) So, after some scheduling challenges, I was able to get it back to this location on 12/13 and met with the assistant manager Cesar who took care of me. This was my first time at Jiffy Lube. I was surprised at the good customer service, all reps and merchants said the lines over and over. The good part was they told me the estimated time of each service I was going to get. The services were a bit over priced, but the merchant that helped was very specific and told me what services what I should look into this visit and the next. But if you are going to get a 60,000 or more maintenance service I would recommend going to your local dealer or getting the price first, because they could cheaper. read more

I had a great experience here. I was in and out in 20 minutes which was perfect because I was trying to squeeze in an oil change in the morning before work. The staff were extremely friendly and offered me coffee and let me know where the bathroom was in case I needed to use it. They will to conduct a standard free check on the car and let you know if they identify any potential issues. Obviously this is a way that they hope to maximize their business potential. I just said no thank you to anything additional that was recommended. Take this for what it's worth - if you don't have time to leave your car for a whole day at shop to get an oil change - this is a great alternative. Don't think you're going to get a good price on car repairs here. That's a given. All in all the staff and service was awesome and just what I needed. read more

I've been to this Jiffy Lube many times, but my most recent visit will be my last. I got my oil changed at lunch yesterday. On my way home from work, every warning light on the dashboard came on, and the car shut itself off. Ironically, it was next to a different Jiffy Lube, so I went there and asked for help. They told me there was nothing they could do and no way the oil change could have caused it. I'd have to call a tow truck. So I had my car towed to the Toyota dealer who has informed me that Jiffy Lube put over 2 quarts more oil in my car than they should have. And now, I'm getting the run around about whether Jiffy Lube is going to pay the bill for all of the cleanup work the dealership had to do to my engine, when this was clearly their fault. read more

I regularly visit a different Jiffy Lube, in Arlington VA, and have always had good experiences. I happened to be passing the Rockville, MD location and was overdue for an oil change, so I stopped in. Jiffy Lube is Jiffy Lube, right? Wrong. First, I waited over an hour and a half. I lost sight of my car at one point and asked a staff member where it had gone. It had been stuck off to the side -- he came back and told me that they couldn't perform service on my car, that they didn't have the right star-shaped tool. He was not terribly nice or apologetic. Several weeks later, I finally made it to my usual Jiffy Lube in Arlington. My usual guys looked under the hood and reported that they could not perform an oil change - that my oil drain plug was stripped out by somebody trying to use the wrong tool. The correct tool is -- you guessed it! - star-shaped. Clearly, the Rockville location had stripped out my oil drain plug. The Arlington guys took great care of me - they offered to install the replacement part if I could get one, and even called a nearby auto parts store to see if they had a replacement in stock. Arlington Jiffy Lube gets a big thumbs up from me. Rockville Jiffy Lube, however, broke my oil drain plug and didn't even have the decency to tell me. read more

Total scam artists! Lets begin with the fact that when I called I was told the oil change would cost $38.99. I thought ok, not too shabby I guess (I know nothing about cars but for under $50, I thought it was reasonable). Anyways, I get there and I'm told that regular oil changes cost $38.99 but if my car uses synthetic oil, it would cost me $84.99. So dude popped open my hood to supposedly see what kind of oil my car uses and determined that I need the "special" oil. FINE. I was already there and didn't feel like going to the dealer. Then I'm told to have a seat in the waiting room. As I'm waiting, I'm told that there were some other issues that I need fixed and if I was interested. I turned down the offers to have my air conditioning vent replaced (or whatever it was) & some other thing. As SOON as I tell him no, he then starts to explain that he CANNOT change my oil. I was a little baffled and already getting annoyed so I ask him why. His excuse? That the dealer had sealed the oil valve too tight & that they couldn't get it off! Are you serious? The incompetence! Then today, I go to my dealership and I inquire about what kind of oil my car uses and guess what! It uses REGULAR OIL & never has the dealer used synthetic oil for my car, EVER. Basically, jiffy lube is run scam artists. Not sure if it's only this jiffy lube, or all of them, but I will NEVER go back to ANY jiffy lube as long as dealerships exist. We had a truck that we took to a Jiffy Lube in Lake Worth Florida and we were always happy with the service. Just an oil change and nothing else. We took our Honda van to this Jiffy Lube in Rockville for a between service oil change. I clearly stated that I wanted just an oil change and nothing else. While I was in the waiting room one of the guys from the shops comes in with my air filter and says how its dirty and would I like it changed. I replied, no thank you just the oil please. After I left I drove up the road to my Honda dealership to get a wiper blade. I figured while I was there I'd check my brake and transmission fluid levels. When I opened the hood I found that my air clean cover was not closed. Not only was it not closed properly but the filter was not seated. Looking for a simple oil change? I'll say this: they are capable of doing oil changes, and they're generally very pleasant. However, the pleasant-ness feels very scripted and fake-- almost as though they're trying to make you feel secure and trusting. I had my oil changed, and then I was walked out to their special computer (away from all the other customers) where they show you how dire the situation is on your car. They come up with a bunch of graphs about maintenance, such as tire rotations, transmission fluids, etc. Well, a bunch of mine were supposedly due for a change. The man tried to convince me about the severity of the situation-- I needed a transmission filter and fluid change NOW! Well, here's the thing. Those computers make scary-looking graphs that are nothing more than timelines by mileage. So if your car has 73,000 miles, it sure does look like you're due for some maintenance. However, I know my car's history-- it had a brand-new engine put in around 50,000 miles and had transmission filter changes around 65,000 miles. I hate to say it, but this place stinks of scams. I don't know much about cars, but I do know to NEVER buy unless I've taken a day or two to do my research. I think that they do this to all customers, but I don't think that being a young woman helps at all. I have visited this location at least 3 times on my lunch break for an oil change. Each time the service was quick and friendly. I much rather visit my personal mechanic when my schedule allows, but in a pinch this location does exactly what I need done. This past visit they were kind enough to not only vacuum but throw out an old bag of fast food garbage. Much like every Jiffy Lube I've ever been to they will attempt to up-sell you on additional parts and service. However, they are not pushy. Once you tell them no they move on with their scripted review of what you need and what they did during your visit. I was even given coupons during my last visit which I was able to use during my recent oil change. I would definitely come back. It's hard finding a business that doesn't attempt to scam women because well -you-know we are women. One note of caution ladies. During one of my visits I was wearing a skirt and if you're like me, pay special attention to individuals working below your car with a "view". I don't know why Jiffy Lube continues to model their stores where customers have to walk through the work space . read more
