There was a time in my life when I had a schedule that facilitated me changing my own oil. A trip to the automotive store, an hour in the driveway, and a couple of cold beers was all I needed to get another 3000 miles out of my Dodge. These days, I am both empowered and humbled by the combination of additional income and a complete and utter lack of time, such that a trip to an oil change business is how I get the same job done. This Jiffy Lube, close to Pasadena City College, is one of the better locations in my book. They rarely try to upsell you on an air filter or a rear differential, and simply - - get this - - change the oil while you sit there drinking their coffee. Granted, it used to cost me about 15 bucks to do it myself, and Jiffy Lube's retail price is about 60. While you're sitting there in the lobby, you can usually find a coupon online to save $10-$20 off the job. I used my $10 off Yelp check in and they did not even bat an eye. As a bonus, you don't have to figure out where to drop off your used oil, or feel that pang of guilt for throwing an old oil filter in the trash... And eventually, a landfill. Art, one of the techs, is a good guy, and does an honest job. On my last visit, I had my one and a half year-old son with me, and they got the job done in 10 minutes. I drove right in and was greeted by Charlie & George, with a smile and eager to assist me. This review is specifically for Tony. My fiancee brought in my Honda Civic last week to get an oil change. Afterwards, I noticed that my car seemed low -- that it was hitting the bottom on driveways that it normally wouldn't. Before I had a chance to bring it back, I hit the bottom on something. When I looked under the car at this point, there was a piece of metal hanging and it was completely dented. We stopped driving the car until we had a chance to bring it in this morning. When I brought it in, Tony identified the issue as the skid plate. I mentioned how I had noticed the car being low after the oil change. It's true that it's hard to say with certainty that there wasn't already an issue with the skid plate before I came in for an oil change at Jiffy Lube or if Jiffy Lube hadn't reaffixed it properly after the oil change. Either way, Tony spent about an hour fixing the skid plate to make it serviceable. I appreciate the fact that he went out of his way to provide us with a reasonable solution and a full explanation of what was going on with my car. ( the intention of this follow up is to inform others of this shifty business and its practices) if i were you i would definitely not take my car here to this location particularly. they will mess your car up.... i jus spent 450+ to fix my car. because they damaged the oil filter housing and gasket. after talking with (david allen) a district manager and being told they will not accept responsibility cause i had oil on my skid plate and there notes said excessive oil leak to cover their ass for messing up my car. my car had no major oil leaks prior to my visit. i had a excessive amount of oil in my engine causing it to come out from oil dip spout... if they changed the oil the problem would be fixed. they assured me i had no leaks before pulling out... i waz assured by tech of no leaks.. 3 days later i noticed my car leaking oil and trailing my car from a stand still at start up.... buyer beware of going to this location heed thy warning bad place to take your car.... this place is attended by half wits with very little knowledge of what they are doing... read more

These guys are the biggest rip off, i got an oil chage and AC recharge. I was told the machine would check to see if there were any leaks in the AC unit and i was told there werent any leaks. So a couple days later i use my AC and only hot air was blowing. I told my car back to this jiffy lube and they ran another test and low and behold there was a leak and my question was you charged me last time when you know there was a leak. I asked the associate why the machine didnt pick of the leak the first time and his response was I dont know. I don't think I will go to any Jiffy Lubes ever again read more
