First time going there was served well and quickly would recommend to anyone who has a interest in oil change

This shop completely wrecked my car. I drive a SUV that's in great shape and came in for a simple oil change. I was told that I really should get a system flush, so I relied on the representation that was given to me and said that if they recommended it, I would go ahead and get it. I felt uneasy about it and I should have held my ground. Sure enough, after I left - my car smelled like it was burning, multiple dash lights went off and I was unable to drive it. Jiffy Lube said it's not their problem and must have just been a coincidence - that my car had the issue before. Total b.s. and now I'm out hundreds of dollars. I will never go back. UPDATE: It's now been 2 weeks since my fuel system flush and I ultimately had to take my car to the dealership. Turns out this "Fuel System Flush" that I was talked into by Jiffy Lube (and was told that I needed) caused a problem with a fuel injector which caused my internal computer to fail. Well, $3,000 to fix this problem. Thanks Jiffy Lube. I should absolutely sue you. read more

I should have read my old review. I had hoped they would have gotten better in four years. I went in for an oil change as I was short on time. When I got back in the car the traction control light was on saying it needed service when it wasn't before the oil change. I pointed this out to them, and they claimed they did nothing to make that happen and it wasn't their fault. They sent me on a wild goose chase to another Jiffy Lube, as maybe that tech was more qualified to diagnose/fix the problem. The other Jiffy Lube guy blew me off. (it really wasn't his problem), and the Keystone location didn't call to let them know I was on the way. I called Pep Boys and they were able to see me first thing the next day. It turns out the Jiffy Lube tech had detached a cable to my sensor system when they went to inspect the air filter. I will be disputing this charge, as they put my car in an unsafe condition, and left it worse than when I brought it in and gave me an additional repair cost. They cannot follow simple instructions, I just wanted to do a simple flush, before they switched the oil, I thought we were all on the same page, but nope they just drained the oil without flushing it, and when I go to tell them not to add the flush because I am not suppose to drive with it, the guy has attitude. I went into Jiffy as I had a groupon and really needed my oil changed. However, I'm happy to say they exceeded my expectations and I will be going back! The service was so quick and they took the time to go over all the details with me. I never felt like they were trying to sell me anything that I needed (and that's really really huge!!!) Today was my second oil change at this Jiffy Lube and, just like the last time, the experience was amazing. The staff are SO friendly and the service is SO fast it's kind of amazing, actually. I'm leaving Reno in a few weeks but I will always miss the great service at the KeyJiffy Lube! *UPDATE: DECEMBER 5, 2019* Again today - five star service. All of my tires were low, but one was approaching "flat" so I swung into the Jiffy Lube driveway on my way home from SaveMart to see if they could fill up the tires. (I know how to do it but I have an irrational fear of a tire exploding in my face so I leave the inflating to others who are braver than I...) Immediately, Kara (Omg I hope I remembered her name correctly!) approached me and said they don't even charge to fill up tires! She inflated all four and I was good to get back on the road. I'm so grateful that Jiffy Lube is right on the corner less than a block from me. And I'll be back there in January for another oil change. (Heads up though guys... The crew at Jiffy Lube took extremely well care of my car needs in such a manner that it felt like I was in a pit during a nascar race! Super quick, friendly and extremely efficient. This young man wears many hats at this business. He is competent, patient, knowledgeable, nice and takes so much pride in his job. It is not often that I'm this impressed with someone. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Took our car here for brakes and a smog. Those jobs were done, they took money for that, and if that was all, they probably would have gotten 5 stars. However, after 3 phone calls, and when it came time to pick the car up, our window had been rolled down and was stuck in the down position. "Bring it back tomorrow and we'll take care of it" we were told. The next day rolls around and we are told it'll be an other $xxx for a job that was not needed or related to anything with the intended services. When we hoped to settle and have their mistake taken care of, we were accosted for suggesting that they pay for something they broke by a condescending manager (even went as far as to call my girlfriends mother "sweetheart" in the middle of an argument which I found to be funny yet in bad taste). The young man on the phone at least offered free labor for the job, whereas the shops manager/highest license holder was adamant about making his customer pay for his shops mistake. We were also given conflicting reasons as to why the window was rolled down in the first place, and one of those reasons was to audibly inspect something that was not authorized in the first place. The alternative reason presented could have been remedied by simply turning on the air conditioning (I sympathize with anyone who has to work outside in the summer heat). But the way that blame for a mistake made by the employees has been placed on the customer is unacceptable. They said that the issue was a preexisting condition, and that it could not stay up on its own, however the window had remained easily in the up position for years prior to our visit to this jiffy lube. To say this business is not well run is an understatement. And it is unfortunately right in line with a stereotypical predatory auto shop. I couldn't recommend anyone go here. They chose to not honor a customers vehicle and take care of their $140 mistake while they were doing a $600+ job. Updated: jiffy lube clearly replied to this review below, however upon emailing them, they had nothing as far as help to offer. It seems as though these replies to poor reviews are intended to provide an illusion of caring for the customer when it is in fact still a farce. read more

After trying to navigate the alleged coupon site for jiffy lube and trying to pre pay, i almost gave up then i hit pay dirt after a great deal of frustratio. Then it came time to pay after being confronted by workers appearing in the dirtiest uniforms/ no masks/being hustled for additional services/incorrect tire pressure/ window washing rag so dirty it left grease on my windshield/trying not to be pejorative i must say the crew did appear a bit scruffy. I was presented with the invoice that i was quoted a price of of 94.99. Gross price 104.00 .net 77.38 w/a 27.60, not what i expected to pay. But wait! Extras! Car takes 5 qt not 6. 6.99/shop supplies 3.00. USD$16.63. ?? Total $84.24. What the f**k!! Oh,i forgot a credit of $10.0 on my next oil change. Not me baby never again!! read more

Haven't had problems with the few simple things I've had done to my cars, but I do have a couple of complaints. --Every time I've gone in, they've all but insisted that I need an air filter. I don't. I do most of my own maintenance (oil's too messy), and I know when I need filters. I can't say they've deliberately lied, but they certainly were mistaken. --Recently I heard one of the techs tell an elderly woman that she was "past the oil change interval" but "we might be able to save the engine" if she paid for a flush. I didn't hear the price, but I asked her how far past the recommended change she was. The manual recommends a change every 7500 miles. She was just short of 8000. Their sales pitch was complete crap. It's always best to follow the manufacturer's recommendation, but that small deviation won't cause perceptible damage. read more

The first time I visited this place for an oil change was good. They complimented my car's shape which is nice considering it is 20 years old and they did a basic oil change. The second time I visited the told me my front brakes had less than 20% life left. I deferred the brake replacement they requested and asked my roommate who has considerable knowledge about cars to help me replace my brakes. We replaced the brakes and the rotors and when the took off the brakes pads we saw that the originally brake pads had at least 60% life left. I truly believe that this jiffy lube tried to con me into an expensive repair just to make a profit. Would not recommend this jiffy lube location as they are dishonest. read more

Came here since 2013, was really nice place and loved to come, since last time when I changed brake pads. An older mechanic ppl told me to change 4 pads with rotors, with $578, good price. Then when I picked car, had no receipt who supposed to give me. After two months, I did tires rotation at another place, got told my rear brake pads needed to replace, then I realized, they just changed 2 pads instead 4, also I'm not sure whether rotors got replaced or not. I went to ask them, they kept to tell me I just asked to change two pads......totally bullshit! Strongly suggest to not come here, Or make sure u get ur old parts back, check whether they did right thing, and ask receipt for sure! read more

I had a disappointing experience at this Jiffy Lube. I arrived and pulled up behind one car that was being serviced in one of their three repair bays (they have a fourth bay for smog checks). The guy comes along after a couple minutes and says that Eddie will be with me shortly. A woman pulls up at another bay after I did and she is waited on first. Fine, perhaps he didn't notice who was first. Not a big deal. After he finished with her, I expect he will come directly to me. I continue to wait for an extended period of time - probably 10 minutes - until the first guy returns and I ask him what's going on. He says Eddie will be back momentarily. After another 5 minutes, Eddie does return to check me in. He's perfectly friendly and helpful - and runs me through the standard up-sell procedure where they offer you more expensive oils (synthetics and synthetic blends - which may be of value to some customers), tire rotation, brake checks, fluid changes, etc. Annoying, but seems to be standard practice for these corporate shops. Anyway, I'm then led to the waiting area where there is a TV with infomercials essentially buttering you up to be prepared for all the items that their technicians will likely find wrong with your car during their inspections to increase your cost. After over a half hour of sitting around waiting in their lounge, I step outside to see what the progress is on my car. It hasn't budged. It's still sitting right where I parked it and the car ahead of it is still being serviced. I'm now 50 minutes in and it's clear that this oil change is not going to be happening in a "jiffy". I talk with the first guy and he says he can't give me a time estimate. It sure would have been nice if they had told me all of this prior to wasting my time. I promptly left and found a much better place - without the up-sell technique and without the waiting. I was in-and-out of Safe Lube Plus in 20 minutes. And they were cheaper. I can't speak to other branches of the chain, but I advise that you skip this Jiffy Lube. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE***** This is the short version missing several details. 1 oil change $80, 1 tow for no oil pressure 10 miles after the oil change, $400 worth of needed repairs for no oil pressure after the oil change, but I was told they couldn't replicate the error, 15 miles max later another tow back per Phil and Don for no oil pressure (after the 400 in repairs and being unable to replicate the issue) another $80, this time the error is replicated and apparently a huge issue. And another tow to the dealer $80 because I was told they can't fix it after telling me to have it towed there, waist of my $$. PHIL SAID "Don the other mechanic quit" and that my car is "a piece of shit" they cant fix it and dont have the experience, time, or tools without Don. ** After Phil advised my husband and I that he already did some of the work on my car last time, now he is telling me he doesn't have the experience to work on my car and wont get under the hood? I cant wait for the dealership diagnostic, because they are the only ones who have ever serviced the car previously between 1 previous owner and myself, excluding oil changes. Jiffy Lube, I gave you a chance to make it right and I simply soaked up everything I was hearing and seeing for the hours of my life that I was stuck sitting there through your crappy customer service, lies, changes in stories from staff etc. I did not once get rude, swear or even question your incompetent staff. Took car in for an oil change. Now, my car is leaking oil all over my driveway.

I arrived early on a Sunday morning after dropping my daughter off for her first year of college at UNR. JIFFY LUBE TOTALLY RIPPED ME OFF!!!!!!!! There was an Asian woman ahead of me. I found an $11 coupon on my phone. Their oil changes are super expensive, so while she was standing with the clerk going over her options, he quoted her ONE price. After he finished with her, I showed her the coupon (he saw me do this), so she used it. He left, came back a minute later and proceeded to tell her she had a tail light out, they would fix it for $8.99. So of course she had to do it. I went to my car (outside, you cannot see it from the waiting room) and saw them messing around in my back seat (WTF??) and now I KNEW WHAT THEY WERE doing. They were disconnecting MY BREAK LIGHT TOO, so my coupon would be NO GOOD. SURE ENOUGH, when it came my turn to go over what my car needed, they said "YOUR BREAK LIGHT IS OUT, WANT US TO FIX IT FOR $8.99"..Fricken SCHEISTERS. I called him on it, but he said...Sure, come out, we will show you" I said RIGHT, NOW THAT you took it all apart!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT EVER USE THESE PEOPLE. It was my first time, AND NEVER AGAIN. They will screw you blind. The assistant managers name was JAMES. WATCH THEM LIKE A HAWK FROM OUTSIDE if you use them. DO NOT GO INSIDE THAT WAITING ROOM. When you need a quick oil change, this is a good place, and the price is reasonable. That being said, believe what you see on Dateline about these places and WATCH WHAT THEY DO!! I was asked if I wanted a tire rotation included, and said yes. I took a cell call and stepped outside, where I could see the car being worked on, and watched them drain oil, etc. The front desk person came out to get me, and said everything was done, and had started to ring me up when I said it doesn't look like they rotated the tires. She went to check it out, and I saw the car race around the back to the lift. She called me back up to say "They can't do the tire rotation because the vehicle is over 7,500 lbs and the lift won't handle it". I responded saying that there is no way my car is over 3 tons, even with passengers in it, so that can't be right, but just ring me up, please", to which she responded she would take $5 off of my service...she mentioned this 4 times before I finally signed the credit card slip and got out of there. I don't like this type of customer service, and total lack of credibility, which these chains already face. To know that anyone unassuming could go in and get ripped off made me pop back onto Yelp, unfortunately for a bad review. If you have the time: go to someone you know and trust. They should rename this place to 1 hour lube because that's about how long it takes. My car set idle with nobody touching it inside the garage for long long time. I watched as they had multiple people on another car that came after me. also the pricing was misrepresented and was way off from what was agreed and no request was made for my consent to the higher pricing. At the end they tried to make a modest discount but it didn't match up to the overcharge and I was still overcharged. I'm so sad to give this business one star. When I came in yesterday for an oil change if I had left this review it would've been a five. However, my car was leaking oil this morning so I took it back in. Of course I was a little frustrated and I'm sure I was less than patient. However, I was met with a very busy staff and instead of giving communication of what was going to take place, which would've only taken 30 seconds, I was pointed to park my car and then move it again. Never once being told what the plan was, how they were going to take care of me, they are busy with others but they promise they'll get right with me, nope. None of that. So when I got notably frustrated and stated this to the man he became condescending and telling me he was getting to it but he can't until it's up on the risers. Thanks genius. I knew that. However, if it had been communicated to me at all that it was going to be looked at, they would be getting to it in a few minutes, or perhaps even if you'd like to go home why don't you just leave your keys will take care of it and call you? None of that. When my car was done and I apologized for my attitude, I was once again met with POOR customer service and him continuing to point out what I did wrong in this situation. Never an apology. Not until the man that I wasn't even dealing with gave me my keys. The only time I heard the word sorry. There's a reason people don't trust those who work in the automotive industry. Most of that is based on poor communication. Way to lose a loyal customer Jiffy Lube. read more

OMG, I have never seen a ripoff like this. I brought in a Groupon for a conventional oil change,($24.) normally $47 I think. I told the manager I wanted that done and what not to do. He said I just had to pay for disposal costs. Everything I said was completely ignored. I was second customer in. About an hour into it, I look out, and the Tech is throwing away one of my windshield wipers, to a garbage can halfway across the shop. I went out and told him I didn't ask for my wipers to be replaced. When i was driving home I realized I have 2 different types of wipers, the one he changed is way too short also. Then, upon paying, the Tech said that will be $53! Including the Groupon! They were charging me $72 for a conventional oil change. I said no friggin way. He talked to manager and did this going through the discounts routine, I ended up paying $7. Beware of these guys! read more

We gotta go on the road in the morning, six hundred miles. And we needed a quick oil change. Vesta called the Toyota dealer and they said they couldn't get us in for three weeks and the oil wanted changing before we left. So we tried Jiffy Lube on Keystone, cuz it's close to where we live. They got us right in and fifteen minutes later Veronica took our money and showed us to our car. Not only did they change the oil, but they filled the wiper fluid, washed the windows inside and out and vacuumed the car. I'm home now, still seeing Veronica's smile.
