They advise optional services based on what they offer and their records on the vehicle, but don't push the sale if not interested. Their select services are posted on the wall with the prices. WARNING : be aware..... Whoever owns this place does not care about his customers. First many years ago I caught one of the kids that worked here hotrodding my wifes car around the parking lot. Even the guy that owns the place did not care. Many years go by so I thought Id give them another try. I notice an oil leak under my 18 month old brand new car. I take it back to them to see if the plug or oil filter was not tight. The guy tells me I am abusing my car and it's coming from the steering fluid. I came here today for an oil change and was asked if II wanted my tires rotated which I declined because I am going to replace them within the next few days. They guy kept making a fuss about my tires though and I literally made it 7 miles out of Jiffy Lube when my tire completely exploded. He overfilled my tire! I was charged for vacuuming and window cleaning etc, and none of it was done.... Actually my back windshield was smothered in mud so I guess they did wipe it. I was stuck on the freeway with a damaged tire because of this place! Never going back to any Jiffy Lube based on this and another reviewers comments who is an ex employee of this location. Honestly, what would possess someone to hurt another person just because you refuse a specific service? That's just plain evil. Went with my roommate for an oil change. The tech began the oil change and told us a few suggested services. We declined. I (in the passenger seat) noticed the air filter taken out, thrown into the trash and replaced with a much smaller new one. I asked my roommate if he had asked for that service and he said he declined. So I ask the tech what he was doing and he said to us very grumpily that the car needed it so he did it. I told him no we don't want to be charged an extra $30 for a service we did not approve. And he was pissed that he had to dig the old one out of the trash and put it back in. (The filter costs $9 at auto zone) When the roommate went inside to pay, the charge was still on the invoice and he had to ask the guy to take it off while the guy pretended he "didn't see it" I feel sorry for anyone else who is/was swindled by this place. read more

Do not come here for our oil changes! I usually go to other locations, but I was nearby this one, so I decided to get my oil changed thinking that all Jiffy Lubes provide the same service, but boy was I wrong! I never had an issue with my oil tank, however, after leaving this one, and returning to my regular Jiffy Lube spot-- come to find out that they didn't change the filter, and they ruined the tread on the cap. The staff at my normal spot told me that all jiffy Lubes use the same filter color, but whatever one they used at this location wasn't the same. They also told me that the tread looked like it was forced improperly. I've learned my lesson. read more

I brought my car here for an oil change (duh), and had a wonderful experience. First off, I was pleased to see that they were implementing social distancing on their garage floor as well inside the waiting area. All the associates were wearing Jiffy Lube masks (which were super cute!), and everyone was really nice. This is the first time I have been to this location even though I live very close to it, normally my husband does the oil changes for the car. When I arrived (without an apt, I took my chances), there was a nice gentleman to greet me and asked me if I needed an oil change and then told me to pull up to the first row. They were extremely efficient and so polite. They had me drive my car into the garage and they got to work. The gentleman who helped me directly had wonderful customer service skills, explained everything me without being pushy on products, and was really nice. This entire process took less than 20min. I waited in the waiting area which was marked very clear for social distancing. They had hand sanitizer available as well. I highly recommend this place for oil changes! read more

Expensive because I upgraded my oil so it was $75 for just the oil change. Then of course the air filter had to be replaced upon their urging -extra $20 for that but I was a little whiny about the total so I got $10 off. With tax and the discount it was 95 and change. The actual people who served me were great and super nice. The boss with the curly long black hair was different. Stars off for the after-treatment when I went back to ask for help with my hood which seemed off, the "boss" was pretty rude and mean. Just looked at me blankly when I said "excuse me Can I get your help" as I was still parked in their lot. 60seconds went by before he broke his disdainful stare and actually decided it WAS his job to help a customer. Not sure I want to go back here again. Toxic masculinity from the "boss" is not something I want to be around or support with my $95 oil change. read more

Im not sure how many people know that this place charges an incredible premium for oil changes. I brought my 21 year old truck in for a standard oil change and they wanted upwards of $80 because they said my truck had high milage (197xxx) and that it would "burn right through the regular oil" quickly. It's been doing just fine with regular oil for years and the engine has no leaks, no issues and I change the oil on a regular basis when the indicator light comes on. I understand they are a business and are there to make a profit, but what they are doing is essentially robbery with a smile. And then of course they always claim it's the "manufacturer recommendations" and that's fine, but recommendations and requirements are very different things. I asked them for standard 5W30 and a filter and they best they could do was about $65! I refused service and they didn't even bat an eye or try and keep me as a customer, they just said "no service on 1", and said goodbye. I ended up going to another place down the way and getting the oil change done for $37 & change and they didn't try and upsell me when I gave them my request for standard stuff. This review is more of a warning to people, if you have extra money to spend on nothing really special, come here. If not, go someplace else..... you can save a lot of money. read more

Just moved to San Jose from SoCal in February. I drive an older Toyota 4Runner. It was my first time getting an oil change up here. I came in on Friday around noon and it didn't seem busy. I was greeted by Ariel at the front desk and he was very friendly. Told him about what I needed and he took the time to breakdown the prices and services they could provide for my car. I'm not too car savvy, so I appreciated any explanation and reasoning for the service. He even let me know later that some services may not actually be necessary. I appreciated the transparency. Highly do not recommend. They are not thorough in checking things. We came here on Saturday for oil change for both of our cars and my husband's car didn't start today. When we raised a hood we saw that a rag had been left there. Also they will try to upsell you. Just warning you they will find a lot of things wrong with your car and tell you that it needs to be replaced. I would have just gone to the dealership except we have a big trip coming up. On 8/15/2020 I went to the Jiffy Lube on 3497 Stevens Creek Blvd in San Jose to receive an oil change. While I was waiting for service, one of the employees mentioned that my differential fluid was low and asked if I would like it "topped off." There was no mention of additional costs or fees, nor that it would require additional servicing beyond what is provided in the basic oil change. I agreed to having the fluid topped off. However, when it came to paying for what I thought was just an oil change for about $40, instead I was greeted with a bill for $140. I was charged an additional $100 for a complete flushing of my vehicles rear differential. I am furious that the service cost was not discussed with me before hand and the fact that I did NOT agree to that additional service. Needless to say I'll be going to more transparent businesses in the future. read more

I've always gotten my oil changed at Jiffy Lube. Always... I've avoided this location since my last experience here about 3-4 years ago when I had my other vehicle because they workers stripped my oil pan, prompting a $500 replacement. I brought my car in to get my oil changed last week, and the staff there told me that whoever did my oil change last, stripped my oil pan, and that I would be needing a new one soon. So it's either, this specific location is always stripping oil pans-- or this is the only location that will tell you when your oil pan threads are being stripped. Either case, in my experience, now I need to search for another place to replace my oil pan, and another place to get my oil changed. Suffice it to say, Jiffy Lube has lost a long time customer. I will never be going back here. read more
