When you pull into a quick-change oil garage, you brace yourself: cheap, fast, and you'll get what you pay for. Low expectations, low professionalism, in fact that was my experience at Jiffy Lube on Hanley years ago. That is not the case at the Jiffy Lube on Hanley now. This place is run like a Michelin-starred version of a quick-lube stop, and it's a genuine surprise. What you'll hear here isn't a blaring radio, staff cutting up, or the silence of neglect. It's crisp, loud communication from every team member (clear directions bringing your car in, checking lights, calling out each step as they work). It isn't just fast; you leave with confidence that things were actually checked, because the team is saying it all out loud to one another. You almost expect them to answer "Yes, chef" after the lead manager gives instruction. I left knowing my car was taken care of. I wasn't wondering whether the bolts were tightened down right, or whether the fluids were actually topped off. There was real precision being handled. The lead manager opens with a joke (he pulled up and asked if I wanted the front and rear wipers checked, knowing full well I'm driving a Silverado with no rear wiper). He got me to glance back and double-check anyway - joke on me. He's got a rye sense of humor, but he runs a tight shop, with high expectations and obvious pride in the work. This place is the Carmy Berzatto (from The Bear) of quick lube car service. Fine-dining discipline brought somewhere nobody expects it; calm, exacting, a little intense, and quietly obsessed with doing the small things exactly right. The "Yes, chef" energy in a Jiffy Lube bay. 5 out of 5 stars. It was good enough that I nearly brought my second car in the same day, and I want my whole family taking their cars here. I'll definitely be back. Whether or not these folks identify as grease monkeys (and I don't get the sense they do) that's not how I see them at all anymore. I've used their service here before and it was good enough but a recent oil change from them was a potential disaster to my car. It seemed long story short that they did not sufficiently tighten the oil filter and it was loosing oil and they did not secure the skip plate properly. They fixed it and and I got a sorry but it happens from them but sweet Jesus, oil changes are what you're supposed to be good at. Sorry other options can be found. I'd avoid this particular location. read more

Attendants were great, but I did notice they did not complete two items which were marked as complete in the service checklist. One they did not wash exterior windshields and two they did not check the wiper blades. One of my wiper blades was broken and I would've liked fixed, but they never bothered to check it and therefore I didn't know it was an option to get completed with my service. read more

I went in a few days ago for an oil change and ended up being here longer than expected. They attempted to upsell me on every possible thing, stating numerous products, replacements, and other things that I should get for my car. They were all more expensive than I was willing to pay, and I know most of the things were not actual problems that needed addressing, so I declined them. One of the things they wanted to replace were my air filters, which did not need replacing, but they pulled them out of my car to show me anyway. After denying everything other than the oil change and going home, I noticed over the next few days there was a clicking sound coming from my AC. I thought maybe the filter had been reinstalled incorrectly, so I opened it up to check and reseated it just in case. The clicking persisted, and after a few more minutes of poking around, I noticed a receipt had been lodged into the fan underneath the air filter. I pulled it out and the clicking immediately stopped. My glove box was admittedly due for a cleaning, but that fan is not even accessible until you pull off the air filter cover, and that cover would only be off when the glove box is already completely out of the way. While not a hard problem to fix, it seems like something that should not have happened in the first place. Especially because I never requested anything related to the air filters, so they did not need to remove them to show me. Not gonna go back here, the experience was just too long, frustrating, and not worthwhile. read more

Went for an oil change. The worker had to ask manager where the oil drain plug was. Then they forgot to put drain plug back in. So, they had to fill my engine with new oil twice, but worker had mistakenly drained some transmission fluid and not replaced the gasket. Over a period of days, transmission fluid leaked. Car started shifting very rough. I had to get a remanufactured transmission installed for just under $10,000. I'm working with Jiffy Lube Headquarters, but the local Jiffy Lube is blaming the entire problem on the dealer who installed the remanufactured transmission. read more

Brought my van in last week for oil change. Of course they tried to up-sale everything and said my belt was cracked. Then they said there was transmission and oil leaks. I had just passed inspection so I was shocked to hear this! Then they said there was metal shavings in my brake fluid. I even called back and had him repeat it to me. I stopped in because my check engine light was on, and when I asked for an oil change, the mechanic looked at my engine and mileage, asked when my last oil change had been, and said I really only needed a couple quarts of oil. I went to this Jiffy Lube at the corner of my house for the first time after living at this location for 3 years. I needed something quick and convenient. Service was quick and easy. Was able to stay in the car the entire time. The technician was friendly. However, he failed to mention that my oil change would cost a small fortune prior to them working on my car. The cost of an oil change at Jiffy Lube is $78! No wonder I haven't been in years! I would've went to the dealership had I known it would cost that much. He was nice enough to offer me a $15 off coupon, which brought it down to $63, still an astronomical amount for an oil change on a Honda Civic. Found out after I left that synthetic oil is not even required for my car, so the up-charge is definitely unappreciated. The only reason that I didn't give one star is because of the friendliness of the technician. There are so many other more affordable options for an oil change so I definitely will not be returning to Jiffy Lube. read more

I had to get my low beam headlight replaced. They were very friendly, professional and honest. Herb is thorough and Tee is efficient and cool. Midway through taking out the bulb, my headlight started back working and Tee informed me immediately. So I didn't have to get work done after all. I think it probably got loose from going over a pothole. Nonetheless they didn't charge me labor or anything, smiled and sent me on my way. Thanks again!! read more

I highly recommend going to a different jiffy lube service. People there don't seem to like their jobs. We came in for a safety inspection and emissions testing and leave with power steering and battery problems. I brought it back in and I ask them about why my battery was giving out sometimes. The worker just looked at me and said they weren't a mechanic. So confused, I just let it pass and went to another jiffy lube. They fixed it right up (the wires were loose connecting the battery). Jiffy lube is usually a really great place. Just find a different location. read more

Quick change places have a reputation for unneeded up sells, but haven't gotten one here. Air filter needed replacing, but I know how to do it, so just declined, and that was it. Herb was outstanding as a manager and with customer service. We came in early on a rainy Sunday morning where I witnessed him help a lovely mother with her two kiddos. He even went as far as to help carry one of the kiddos in since the mom had the car seat. He was kind and attentive to our needs in addition to managing staff and making sure everyone was meeting expectations. The waiting area was very clean. He opened both car doors for us when our car was ready- which took only 20 minutes AND he vacuumed out the car. read more

Don't ever go to the Jiffy Lube in U City at 7500 Delmar! Last week, my kids were at camp and while I was up that way, I decided to get an oil change. They of course suggested new wiper blades, air filters (which should have been a red flag since I knew I changed them at my last oil change), etc. I refused all that, but they told me my left brake light was out. So, I agreed to have them change it for $12.99. Imagine my surprise less than a week later when I'm getting some other work done on my car and the Honda dealership tells me my left brake light is out. So, I call the U City Jiffy Lube and they say I must have an electrical issue, but I can take it to any Jiffy Lube with my receipt and have them check the bulb. This morning, I went to the Jiffy Lube in South County by Sam's. I tell them my tale. She looks at my receipt and says she'll take a look. She pulls out the burnt out bulb and replaces it. She then shows it to me and explains that there's no way they changed it before. Even if there was a supposed electrical issue that could've burnt out the bulb, it was absolutely not a new bulb. She then explains that they didn't even key in the correct bulb on my receipt. She didn't charge me and apologized for Jiffy Lube. (Yay for SoCo Jiffy Lube!) So, I get home and call the original Jiffy Lube, only to be told that I'd need to bring in my receipt as proof. I explained that I don't live close to there and could text him a photo of the receipt. He said that wouldn't be acceptable. So, it isn't worth it to me to drive half an hour to Jiffy Lube in U City for $12.99, but I certainly don't mind warning others about that location! read more

I took my car for a basic oil change, the service was slow, and when I left I immediately started getting warning lights for low battery level and oil overfilled. They charged me $90 for the synthetic oil, the price I only found out about afterwards. I brought it back a couple days later to ask about my engine lights and they said they would do another oil change for free, but then proceeded to tell me that there was a hole in the coolant tube which should be fixed. They also suggested I go to Auto Zone and get a new battery for "free" by telling the Auto Zone I had a warranty. They took some oil out of the car and said they couldn't help with the rest of my problems. I went on my way, and a week later my car broke down on the highway because my alternator was not charging the battery anymore. Previously I had not had any issues with the battery, or the alternator at all. Six months previous to this episode, I took my car to get a full check at a manufacturer who said everything was in pristine condition. I don't recommend going to this Jiffy Lube. read more

I have had my car serviced here twice so far and I was very pleased with the outcome both times. I came here to get my oil changed and tires rotated recently. I came at 12 during my lunch hour thinking I could make it back to work within the hour. During one of those wet, snowy, miserable days I was greeted by the owner, like a gentleman he opened my door, the door to the entrance and went over everything for me. It took 20 min tops to get everything done. Everyone there was very respectful and informative of what they were doing, what they discovered on the car and what they could do and will do. I was never in the unknown with them. I payed $24.99 for my oil change and $21.99 for my tire rotation for a grand total after tax of $51.00 out the door. I experienced this same kind of the service the first time I came here which is why I came back a second time. 4 stars in by book. read more
