The employee assisting me (Juan S) asked whether I believed in God. When I responded that I do not, he told me he would pray for me and my soul. I found this extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable. I came in for an oil change, not a discussion about my religious beliefs. Whether a customer is religious or not is a personal matter and should not be part of a business transaction. Employees should focus on providing service for customers' vehicles, not questioning customers about religion. Because of this interaction, I will not be returning to this location. I plan to speak with management and contact corporate, as I believe this crossed professional boundaries and created an uncomfortable customer experience.

Four days…read moreago, on July 1st I had an appointment at this location to have a tire inspected due to a screw/bolt lodged in the rear right. I show up optimistic, as the placement of the screw and tread life didn't suggest the tire was irreparable, and everytime I have had tires patched here previously, it had been a smooth process. Always left satisfied, felt the employees were completely transparent, and they would always inspect the tire thoroughly. This visit, was a different experience. Not only was I told by what seemed to be the manager that the tires all needed to be replaced, the inner side wall had deteriorated, and my tread was at an unsafe level to patch the tire. He claimed that the policy at the company states they have to patch from the inside and the method they use would be too dangerous for the condition of my tire. Next, they did not remove my tire from the wheel, to fully inspect how deep the screw/bolt had penetrated. I felt very uneasy about what he was telling me, coupled with the location of the screw/bolt and healthy tread, both of which you can see in my included photo, I decided I would leave instead of purchasing new tires as the manager told me I needed to do. I decided that I would try one of their sister stores. American Tire Depot is a great company and up to that day I had always been a satisfied customer, so why not try a different location. Boy, am I happy I did! Just as I thought, the tire was completely repairable, tread life was healthy, and there was nothing unsafe about the location of the screw/bolt or condition of my tire as I was told by the manager of the Sherman Oaks location. After all was said and done, I am now extremely apprehensive about returning to the Sherman Oaks location. Especially after seeing a review about the exact same experience happening to somebody here six months ago. This was not a questionable repair in anyway. This was very cut and dry. My tire should've been patched on July 1 instead of the attempted money grab. NOT COOL.

So I've been on a mission to find the best car wash in the area -- and this time I tried Fashion Square Car Wash for the first time. First things first -- come prepared. They offer a lot of services and do a good job of posting signage, but my honest advice is to look up their menu online before you get in line AND KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. When you're in the queue and they're ready to go, it's not the easiest moment to be asking a lot of questions and figuring out what you need -- and I had plenty of questions. That said, the staff was patient and genuinely helpful. I didn't realize, for example, that getting oxidized paint to really shine again requires a clay bar treatment followed by a hand wax -- they walked me through that, and I really appreciated the education. I ended up going with the interior-only package for time's sake -- $99 -- which included a double vacuum, leather conditioning, Armor All, and the works inside the car, short of a full shampoo (I didn't have time for that anyway). The interior came out looking fantastic. Really nice work. The exterior received just a standard wash, which in hindsight is exactly what I paid for -- but I'll be honest, I would have liked to see them take a rag and go over it just a bit more thoroughly before calling it done and calling me over. there were spots and still some bird poop on the hood. I mean -- take some pride in having the customer leave IMPRESSED. Overall, a perfectly good experience. I might be back to try their fuller detailing packages -- and next time I'll know exactly what I want before I pull up. Note that the full detail is $499 which seems quite expensive to me, so not sure I would DO THAT unless in a pinch. Mobile detailers could probably do for less after checking prices. The express wash is good if you just want a quick exterior wash and nothing else, though it even falls short in that sense as the machine wash definitely doesn't pick up everything and the "dry" often is not complete since it's a mix of air drying and some manually wiping. This is good when you just want to get off the visible dirt for $10. You could do a better job at the self service washes for less if you wanted to put in the effort. With the express wash, you do have access to self service vacuums before going thru the wash. The standard wash is $25-30 and full service. The car goes thru the machine wash and gets a hand dry, which in my experience, takes a bit longer than other car washes as they do take their time, though still miss some interior spots. I'd still stop by here when in the area, though usually only for the express wash when I just want a clean car. They also offer monthly wash packages, though I have not tried those personally.

I went in for transmission fluid change earlier in February in my Toyota Camry 2018. I bought OEM Toyota transmission fluid and asked Joe to help do drain and fill.The drain and fill was completed. After that there was a rough driving issues started. I went back to show my car to joe and he drove the car he told me he don't see any issues. I wanted him to check transmission fluid port on if there is low transmission fluid he didn't agree and told me I might be overthinking. I went to different mechanic in April and he checked. I paid $100 to reopen the port for transmission fluid and what we saw was no fluid came out from the primary port. He added 0.5 quarters left. The issues I have had for rough idle and need to have higher RPM on slope went away completely.According to him you have to keep the car running when you drain the fluid and you need to have it at the right temperature he said the drain and fill wasn't done correctly that's why there was still room for fluid. The viscosity of the fluid makes a difference in how much you can fill and drain. He double checked for leakage and there were no leaks either. When I went to joe and asked about don't you have to keep car warm to see if temperature is right? He said you only do it when there is a leak. I don't think Joe knew enough about mechanics of New car. I wasn't overthinking when I went to ask Joe for help and asked to recheck the transmission fluid. I paid $260 for labor only( $160 to Joe and $100 to another mechanic) for same job. It's really absurd. Overall this could have damaged my transmission. I think for future the customer advise should be taken seriously. I know my car well so I know when it's not acting good. I have been driving it from 10 years.
