Quick business lunch on a Thursday. We were seated quickly. The place was mostly empty so pretty quiet. We needed a fast lunch and Mexican restaurants almost always meet that need. Almost. The highlight of the meal was the spicy salsa first thing I do at a Mexican restaurant is to ask for spicy salsa. Theirs did not disappoint. They could bottle the stuff. Heck maybe they get it in a bottle. lol The service was painfully slow. It took forever for our lunch to arrive. And, we got nothing fancy. I ordered a steak burrito and asked for no cheese sauce. Also got a side of vegetables. When it arrived, sure enough, smothered in the cheese sauce. But, given the slow service, there was no time to ask them to correct so I ate it as is. It was also a smaller burrito. The steak was very good. The veggies were good as well. Nice and hot. Giving it 3 stars for the reasons above. Easily could have been 4. Oh well. read more

I love San Lucas! I've been three time and have tried something different each time! I don't have any pictures of the chips and salsa because I devour them far too quickly, despite getting refills. The first, and my favorite, thing I tried was the Chipotle Chicken. I hum and dance when the food really hits, so it was hard to hide my enjoyment of this one. The second thing I had was the veggie burrito, which wasn't seasoned much on the inside but still good. Third was the chicken soup! It was a particularly chilly day and I wanted to warm up with something that had cilantro in it. I ordered the small and it was so filling I was only able to finish half! While the place looks nice on the inside very fancy looking, clean and updated, the food is sad. My cheese dip came out chunky and cold in the smallest bowl I have ever seen ($9), I got the San Lucas quesadilla and it was tiny, not what was advertised on the picture. The meat in it was obviously not fresh but microwaved and was frozen. The chorizo was BURNT and had zero taste. The rice was okay it was very flavorless and basic. Everything was extremely overpriced and you can get WAY better Mexican food down the road. Our servers name was Karen . Tonight I ordered the enchiladas with flour tortillas and shredded chicken. I get my food and it's corn tortillas with grilled chicken. No big deal accidents happen, I let the server know . She gets it fixed but then when she came back by I asked for cheese dip to add on top , it took her 10 min to come back around she shows up with our checks and no cheese dip. So I asked about my cheese dip and she says okay I'll go get it .... Then takes even longer to bring out the cheese dip by the time I get the cheese dip to add on top of my food my food is cold. We wait around for her to return so I can get a Togo box and it's like she's avoiding us. Ever had one of those days where you just need a margarita the size of Texas? Well, that was me when I picked up my friend from the airport after she got stuck in town. Naturally, I decided to take her to San Lucas Mexican Restaurant, known for their killer margaritas. Spoiler alert: the margaritas are the star of the show, and everything else... well, let's just say the margaritas are the star of the show. We walked in and got seated at a table, but really wanted a booth. No biggie, except the booth next to us had just been cleaned and was still wet. My friend, being the adventurous type, decided to sit there anyway. Nothing like the aroma of freshly cleaned booth cushions to whet your appetite! My friend ordered a strawberry margarita on the rocks, Texas size (go big or go home, right?), while I opted for a passionfruit margarita. When my drink arrived, I noticed some suspicious berry-looking things floating in it. Considering my severe strawberry allergy, I asked the waiter what was up. He assured me it was a pink-colored passionfruit drink. Clearly, he has never seen a passionfruit in his life. After some back and forth, we discovered the bartender had mixed blackberries into my drink. I have 99 problems, but knowing the difference between strawberries and blackberries isn't one of them. I ended up switching to a frozen Texas mango margarita, which, thankfully, did not try to assassinate me with surprise berries. It was good. I'll leave it at that. For food, we ordered queso calamari, I got the quesobirria, and my friend went with fish tacos. She said the fish tacos were good but basic. My quesobirria was decent too, sauce or no sauce. Meanwhile, our waiter was channeling his inner social butterfly, chatting up every other table like they were long-lost friends. We got what we came for: a good margarita. And that's about it. Would I come back? Absolutely, but only for the margaritas. And I'll make sure to interrogate the bartender about the ingredients next time. read more

We used to go there weekly. The staff are so friendly. We got to know them by name. The margaritas are the best. Why did we stop going? The tortilla chips are very thick. We prefer thin chips. Also, the music is loud and annoyiing. A little background music is preferred so that we can talk while we eat. Fix these 2 things and we will be right back. read more

Have been here 3 times since moving to GA and I'll keep going back. Nice friendly family atmosphere. Customer service does not miss!!! Food is delicious!!! Haven't had a meal i didn't love yet. Drinks are great not watered down(drink responsibly). I've eaten in with family and friends. I've ordered online for pick up and I've sat at the bar chatting with employees while relaxing. On an impulse and glad we did. I cant believe we finally made it here on a random gas run LOL. San Lucas is located in the heart of Hiram, where we frequent for Sam's runs and other store pick ups. I have been wanting to go for a while and never seem to find the time. Well finally did it and it was worth the wait. We were greeted, seated and waited on immediately. I ordered the mango mojito which was on sale and the texas rice bowl, which was loaded with chicken, steak and shrimp, great veggies and rice. My friend wanted to try this new Mexican restaurant, so we went to lunch for her birthday. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Everything was clean and I loved the colorful decor. It was a little cold, so next time I'll bring a jacket. Our server was friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive- with offerings that made it feel almost like a diner. The have traditional snd American Mexican offerings as well as breakfast burritos, Italian food, and seafood. The food was tasty and fresh. The chips were good but needed salt! I got the taco salad with chicken. My friends got a burrito and a Buffalo flatbread. We all enjoyed our food and had enough for leftovers. It's better than Taco Bell but not as good as Chipotle. The chips and salsa were okay, the grilled chicken was extremely dry, the tea was watered down, and the service was decent. However, this could have been a bad day for them or maybe the experience was due to me coming after the lunch rush. They were probably on a skeleton shift after lunch. I got the queso birria tacos and they were DEVINE so juicy and so much cheese and the tortillas were a little crunchy so yum! my boyfriend got the quesadilla with chicken chorizo and steak as suggested by our waitress and it was also so good! They had $3 house margaritas which were fabulous! Our served Wendy was so sweet and kind! I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the decorations they also had live music playing! My husband and I were there last night. We both wanted a good Margarita and heard they were really good! I ordered the Birria egg rolls and he ordered a Chicken and Steak Fajita bowl. My husband enjoyed his meal of food I however wasn't pleased at all with the egg rolls there was no taste as if they forgot to season the meat and Cozumel sauce. I took another stab at the menu and ordered a Birria Quesadillas hoping that would taste better. I was wrong it was worse than the egg rolls. They used corn tortillas instead of flour and again there was no seasoning so it tasted like meat and cheese with onion and cilantro BLAND. I'm really disappointed and won't return to eat again. I was out and about doing some shopping with some family in Hiram and had the urge for a Margarita and Tacos, so I searched online and came across this place. I checked out the website, looked legit, and said hey why not. I am glad I went. No wait time for the time of day I went on a Saturday, around 3 p.m. The place was not short of patrons though. Everyone from the time I entered to the time I left was really friendly; I am not used to being acknowledged by other people that work at a restaurant when I have already been seated that isn't my server. As for my server she was very kind and quick to the draw. Between ordering and getting drinks and food it was probably a total of 10-15 minutes, if even. I had the steak and chorizo tacos (2) which comes with rice and beans. No cilantro, but I tried someone else's taco that did have cilantro and it didn't taste like soap, so I was a little caught off guard. The food itself was great and definitely worth it. Fresh, authentic Mexican food, no watered-down American style Mexican, no no, this was definitely the real deal. The margarita was great too of course! Forget the Applebees that was here, San Lucas has taken over. I'm ready to go back and explore more of their menu, even their vegetarian options. read more

It doesn't help that i had to ask 4 times just for my full meal to be brought out, sometimes having to ask completely different people to check up on it.
