I have been a loyal Jim Pott's customer for over 15 years. The service department is terrible. They had the best mechanics years ago. Try to call the service department, not possible. They want you to email them......no response. Once I emailed service and copied Jim Potts himself. I did get an answer. Not being able to call and not answering emails is not a good way to do business. I would suggest going to Nielsen. read more

Jim will shake your hand take your cash and tell you they will take care of you. After that I feel sorry for you. He still has almost $100 work of merchandise I never ordered but was added to a large order of merchandise I purchased for the new 20k skidoo I purchased from him. For almost 2 years and over 25 emails and calls ( relocated from area ) to continually ask about the product and the refund. We'll Potts his son Matt and some women who shouldn't be in customer service named Amy still have my merchandise and Refund. They continually hang up on me know. It's interesting as I haven't even raised my voice or became nasty like they have. All I want is my money back and an apology for being spoken to like I had been especially by Matt. I have no idea what go's on there but it is not good. I have been told they will sort it out and get back to me. 3 different times by 3 different people I was told my refund was in process of being returned by 3 different employees. They still have both! Matt gladly threw a one time employee who had passed under the bus. After 35 minutes on phone he agreed to send me check for my return of items I never ordered and they have had both for years. Nothing??? After 3 more calls and several more emails. Amy tells me Matt sent my return via PayPal. I let them know I don't even have PayPal? Amy then hung up on me. If you don't want a dealerships where-you have to come here to warn people then stay clear of this business or you won't have a POTT left to Pisss in. read more

This dealer is simply the best in my region when it comes to motorsports. I looked around at many other local BRP dealers and Jim Potts in my opinion is the place to be. They will work for you to make the impossible...possible. I dealt with Jim in sales and Matt in service who were very accommodating to make a customer happy when other competitors I called on acted carelessly. Jim Potts has a vast selection of everything...the prices are very competitive and the service is top-notch...done right the first time. I have no idea what the others who gave less than 5-stars are talking about, but I can only attribute it, based upon my own experience, to them having unrealistic expectations. Haters gonna hate I suppose. This was by no means the closest dealer I could have gone to, in fact it was the farthest, I live in Homer Glen, they're in Woodstock, but it was worth the drive. Jim is a wonderful guy, straight shooter, patient and more than willing to answer questions, explain things and try to understand your needs. I told him what I wanted and needed and asked him for an out-the-door price, and I got more than a fair price from him, in fact the lowest of any other dealer. The worst customer service ever. After a week and a half and about fifteen phone calls, I was given the run around for warranty on a $700.00 BRP Helmet worn 4 times and completely failed. BRP is aware of the problem and told me, just take it in to the dealer you bought it from. After numerous attempts to solve the problem with only one person to actually call me back. I was told conflicting stories by multiple personnel at Jim Potts. I requested a call from Jim himself and five days later, nothing. After being completely frustrated with the lack of professionalism and no return calls, I made one phone call to a Reputable BRP Dealer, that with no questions understood and was aware of the Helmet problem and took care of the issues no questions asked, even knowing I bought it elsewhere. I would never do business there again and will share my experience with the local motorsport community. read more

Consider yourself warned- 1 star is over-rating! I brought my Sea-Doo to them in Oct 2013 to have the starter replaced and then winterize the unit - I was told this would take a couple of weeks. Not once did they call me back during this ordeal (I called them many times asking when my pwc will be done). Ultimately I got my pwc back in May 2014 - yes, that was 7 months later. Upon picking up my unit, my invoice had charges for: winterizing, 'summerizing' ($119 to recharge my battery and drain the anti-freeze), and replacing the starter - with a note: labor prices were raised in April (this applies to replacing the starter). To top this off, when I launched my Sea-Doo three weeks later, the unit ran terribly. I tried to arrange to have Jim Pott's look at this - since something didn't seem right and to discuss the original invoice - but the various people were always busy and would have to call me back. I left my name and number four times - never got a call back. I got a recommendation to have someone else check out my Sea-Doo. After explaining the symptoms (unit starts fine, seems fine for about 10 seconds then starts bogging down, lots of smoke coming out of engine compartment) - he took a peek at the engine and had it diagnosed in a minute - Jim Potts 'mechanic' didn't reattach clamps properly and water and exhaust were spewing into the engine compartment bogging everything. He had it fixed 2 days later. His words, 'If you feel like you must go to a dealer for work - go to Nielsen's. You will pay dealer prices, but at least the work will be done right'. I told him that I will stick with him. Went to Jim Potts to discuss this whole situation with the owner - I pretty much got told to pound sand. Terrible service, no customer service. read more

AWESOME EXPERIENCE !!!!! If you want a place to take care of your every need go to Jim Potts motor sports. We went to lake villa to purchase a wave runner & It WAS NOT a good experience. They had us wait 45 days for a wave runner & they still didn't delivery it. We decided to go to Jim Potts motor sports to see what they had. We were pleasantly surprised they had the wave runner we wanted on the floor & picked it up the next day. Their costumer service, quality of equipment & knowledge of products was top notch. They answered every question we had , went above & beyond to make our purchase fun. We highly recommend you checking them out for your next Motorsport purchase. read more

Unknowledgeable staff, poor follow up and poor management. There seems to be little communication amongst departments. Very limited and small selection of inventory and accessories. I would not recommend going to Jim Potts Motor Group for accessories or to buy a snowmobile. I cannot speak to their service department. read more

Dishonest and wasted our time. We found a motorcycle we were interested in, we called and filled out their credit application and told the guys we would be in there right away. They said, Come on in! We have it right here! When we got there the guy said "we already sold it to someone else." They never called us to let us know even though we were coming from an hour away. We think they were trying to Bait and switch us to a newer, more expensive bike. Not going back there. read more

This is the worst Bike place I have ever dealt with, not only did I get over charged by at least six thousand dollars they haven't even paid off the bike I traded in a month after the sale and getting past due notices on the trade in. And still waiting on license plates 3 1/2 months later. You can never get in touch with the Owner as every time you call he is out. read more

Worst place I have ever dealt with! Horrible person to do business with. I had them work on my Spyder. My GPS(that was in a locked compartment ! ) was stolen out of the locked compartment while at their shop. I showed up to pick up my bike and my GPS was gone. They had left he key in my Spyder, while unattended in the parking lot. They are taking no responsibility. The owner told me "Get the FUCK out" of his business. Very unprofessional. Absolutely horrible service! They are rude and too pushy. Watch for hidden costs when buying from them. Will you really get the motorcycle for the list price? Highly unlikely! You are much better off buying from an independent seller if you're looking for a Spyder. There are some good deals out there. Stay away from Potts! read more

I have never reviewed a place before but this one takes the cake, the first thing you get hit with is the complete overpowering smell of perfume from Jennifer up front. Then she is so pushy like life itself depends on you buying something before you leave. Not a friendly place to just browse. Our experience was great. Picked up a used Spyder RT yesterday. Very helpful, great customer service. They helped us with directions around traffic, and squeezing the trike into our nearly too small trailer. Good deal, great trike, great time riding today. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!! The owner JIM POTTS is a CROOK! He has all of his employees screen ALL of his phone calls so he doesn't have to talk directly to you. The workers answering the phone state that "he's with a customer" or "he's on a delivery". I was told both of those answers within the same phone call and caught the person on the other line in a complete lie. He then was stumbling over his words. Caught him off guard. Another individual clearly stated "we screen Jim's phone calls." What a baby! I had CASH IN MY HAND to make a vehicle purchase. I was told it would be 3 days until I could even test drive the vehicle. 4 days pass, guess what...." Yeah we still haven't gotten around to getting it out."! After looking at the potential purchase for a second time, they raised the price $1,000. I was told by MATT POTTS (son?) that he would "honor" the original price. NOPE. He came back and said JIM isn't going to allow that. CROOK! I was told the vehicle has no problems "and we'll stand by that". Turns out that I was able to diagnose the problem on scene. YEAH it has some problems! This place lies! GET THIS: the owner wanted me to agree on a final price before the test drive!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!
