I don't even know where to start! I fell in love with a bronco Heritage edition that my husband found for me after searching. Unfortunately it was located at this dealership. The actual ease of paperwork was fine...of course it was as they wanted their sale completed but it's all downhill from there. Not even close to what I call quality service! The car had to be delivered from Ohio to Fort Lauderdale. My husband was in the car business so you can not argue with the facts on how a car should be delivered and I don't care what make or model it is. Car was delivered nearly two days past original estimated time. No problem. I can understand if a car is dirty on the outside from transportation but the inside should have been very clean! Perhaps even with a note thanking us for our business. But hey...that's only something a true professional business would do! The inside of the car was trashed. Caked in dust and dirt. The head rests of the seats were filthy and the extras covered in filthy plastic just thrown in the back. Even the inside of the glove compartments and center compartment were beyond dirty! A car is supposed to be cleaned for delivery!!! It also had an unusual smell. Not a hint of that new car smell everyone loves. We had to have it professionally cleaned and the seats took forever to get the dirt marks removed! That wasn't cheap but we paid for it. They also insisted it was cleaned! Not a chance. Then...not even one week later on a NEW car with 24 miles on it the check engine light comes on! I immediately took it in to my local dealer. After throughly inspecting the car they told me it had "critter damage" and that parts needed to be ordered and I was looking at about 1000 for repairs! I was without a car or loaner for two days and this awful dealership actually had the balls to tell me it could have happened in my possession when I live in the middle of the city in a new luxury high rise where there are no critters!!! The local service writer spoke to them and basically confirmed it was done where they had the car parked! Clearly in a dirt field somewhere! Now Jim Schmidt Ford offers to pay for 500 of the 1000 repair which is not the right the right thing to do! It was their neglegence!!! After I expressed my disappointment then a text came back from the sales person saying he spoke with his manager and "he'd pay for it" ! In my opinion that means he spoke to the manager again and he agreed to pay the full amount. I just received a check for less than 500 and here we are! Hope it's worth the bad review to let everyone know how you handle business. BUYER BEWARE! They don't care about you, the state of the car they sell you or customer service! This car was NEVER EVER inspected before shipping because the damage would have been seen and I should have never had to pay for a professional detailer! SHAME ON YOU!!! read more

I was sitting outside waiting for the final paperwork to be done. This idiot decided to cuss my uncle out using the F word several times not knowing I was sitting right there. I contacted Jim Schmidt Ford Regarding a used vehicle specifically based upon their reviews. It had been in an accident and had very obviously uninspectable rotors, among some other cosmetic issues. Not only were they not willing to budge whatsoever on price, they refused to address an existing mechanical issue and insisted that their techs had performed their own 'safety' inspection. Buying a used vehicle is a process of negotiation. Jim Schmidt has unfortunately lost my business because of their staunch unwillingness to ensure I'm leaving their lot in a safe, inspectable vehicle. This dealership goes above and beyond! Very good at communicating and fully transparent with the final price of the truck we purchased from them. They conducted a full 162-point inspection of the truck even after we purchased the truck, replaced the air filter, oil change, tire check and rotation, checked balancing, etc. Unlike other dealerships, they didn't try to push us towards a vehicle out of our price range. Curt made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped arrived and even greeted us outside. Absolutely outstanding car buying experience. I found a vehicle I really liked through Carfax at a price that seemed too good to be true. It would also be a four hour drive from Pittsburgh to get it....but I was intrigued. I talked with Scott Krontz who started by telling me "we do things differently here." I figured this was par for the course for a salesman but quickly found that was not the case. Scott led me through the process of getting an (excellent) offer on my old truck--all I had to do was send him info and pictures and he did the rest--no haggling, no BS...just a straightforward very fair offer. He was straightforward and no BS about what he could and couldn't do on a deal with the new truck and made sure the ball was in my court...I never felt pressured. We casually texted for a day and a half...easy. After making a deposit to hold the truck, I made a long drive out hoping that the experience in person would be as good as it was over the phone. It was better. I was welcomed immediately and was test driving my soon to be new vehicle within five minutes of arriving, which also gave them a chance to check out my trade. When I came back, I did paperwork with Ryan Campbell--again, no BS and no pressure...done in 30 minutes. When I was working to make a deal, I mentioned that my local credit union was willing to give me financing at a lower percentage than the dealership originally quoted me--I said to Scott "if you guys can beat that rate, I'll finance though you instead." And then they did. Both guys walked my son and me out the door and Scott offered to show me more about the truck. I declined because we had a long drive back and I wanted to get on the road, but I appreciated that when the deal was done there was no rush at all to move us along. Scott ended by telling me to just text him any time with any question or concern that comes up with the truck. Pretty remarkable customer service to have an open offer to talk to a guy any time there's any question or issue. Long post but I think it's important to understand that these guys are not too good to be true--they really are that good--and as Scott said, they really do do things differently. In my experience, most dealers take advantage of their expertise in sales and cars to take what the customer wants and move it toward what the dealer wants for them. I think those dealers see those situations as mutually beneficial--the customer buys something and they make a sale. These guys do the opposite--they get to know what you want and what you can and can't do and then leverage their expertise to get you a deal. No BS, no haggling, just honesty and a straightforward welcoming attitude about dealing with customers. Best part about that is everyone still walks away happy. Easiest and best car buying experience I've ever had. Would give more than five stars if I could. Worth the drive and would definitely recommend. read more
