I understand that every business cannot donate to great causes but Jimmy John's manager told me they don't donate sandwiches or chips to Community events that promotes positive actions. I was totally disgusted by this. Mostly because, when I went in to turn in the donation request letter, the nice gentleman told me that they do donations all the time. This is a great location that is very close to my apartment. The ingredients here just seem fresher. The kitchen is wide open and the sandwich fan can see every slice of meat being prepared on the huge slicer, every loaf of bread being baked.... My order came out of the pick up window in lightening speed. The only thing I would really like is that Jimmy would add some toasting action to the concept. Had the pleasure to try Jimmy Johns in Baton Rouge for the first time while my band was on tour in the south. No, it doesn't beat one of the local restaurants but you can't beat their price and their speed. They have the most workers/customer I have ever seen in this type of restaurant. I have not had to wait longer than 5 minutes to order and receive my food from any of the JJ locations. It's not that their subs are the best subs in the world, but the consistency is astounding. Don't get me wrong - you have some great things going for you! You were founded in the same year as I was born, which is auspicious. You aren't overpriced. You're super-humanly fast, even if you're swamped at lunch hour. Your bread smells pretty tasty. Unfortunately, none of those benefits can outweigh the negatives. For instance, even though your bread smells great... it kind of tastes like cardboard. Any time you put mayo on your sandwiches, there's so much that it oozes disgustingly off the edge of the bread, but if you go mayo-free, your sandwich is so dry as to be nigh-unchewable. Your sandwich choices aren't exciting enough to make up for the mayo-issue: you're basically a glorified Subway - you're pricier, but also less likely to provide a dose of food poisoning with your meal. That's nice, I guess. What I'm trying to say, Jimmy Johns, is that I'm pretty much done trying you. I've given you so many chances, baby, but you keep letting me down. Terrible customer service. Apparently they will allow pickles to be sliced into quarters but not slices, which is ridiculous. My husband and I eat lunch at this location frequently, but after today I will NEVER eat at any Jimmy John's again. It may seem like a small issue, but it is basic customer service. There are too many other places to eat that will make the food to order to waste any more of my money at Jimmy John's. Went here a couple of weeks ago. I try to get off on the right foot with everybody, so I approached the counter and said Hello. The girl(I say girl because adults know how to act on the job) behind the counter had her back turned to me and didn't greet me back. I placed an order online today for three sandwiches and after waiting 45 minutes for the "freaky fast" delivery we decided to call to ask for an update. The worker told us the order was sitting there but they only had one driver so it would be another 30 minutes. After another 45 minutes we called again and the girl told us the order wasn't even made yet, she had no idea about the order even and couldn't give us any update on if it would ever come.
