For many months now, possibly up to a year, we have been getting a "senior citizen's discount " in the form of free drinks at this establishment. We eat there most Thursdays. This discount has been offered by the kind cashiers for a long time (and we are both over 65), so we have gladly accepted it. Today however, an employee who claimed to be the "manager" denied it and said it had never been offered unless we could prove we were military or vets, and we are neither. I went ahead and paid and ate, but will probably never return. It's not the first time I have had problems with this particular restaurant. They have been confusing our orders for years, so I finally started ordering a wrap for myself instead of a sandwich just so they wouldn't mix up our orders. Still, the food is good and somewhat healthy, unless you order the chicken salad, which must be made with old meat, which I found out the hard way. Maybe I have the patience of Job, but there are limits. So Panera or Jason's here we come...and NO NEWKS!!! read more

Great place for lunch ! I love that they offer half sandwich with your choice of soup or salad! I ordered to-go as well since I have a short lunch period and they are really easy to order from online and they have their own To-Go door where you can walk right in and grab your order without waiting on anyone! I am a long time Newks patron. I have never had a bad meal, occasionally the wrong meal, quickly fixed, but never a bad meal. I've introduced several folks to Newks, and they always come back. I'm moving to an areaof the country where there are no Newks. Bummer. read more

I ordered the $20 special two pizzas and a salad. It's a pretty good deal. I didn't dine it, I did curbside pickup. I normally go inside and I should have. I checked in on the app and no one came out so I called and the number doesn't have an option for curbside so you just have to select a random extension and hope someone answers. My first time calling the phone ring so long until it said goodbye and hung the phone up and I had to call back. I got someone and explained and she was nice. She brought my order out the only issue I had was my food was cold. The salad was good I got the Caesar. But I do know that I love Newk's, And I know that if you love Newk's, too, What a wonderful world this would be. Despite my poor attempt at remaking a song about Newk's I don't really know much about Newk's either. But their black and bleu salad is awesome and it will remain in rotation of places I go when I need a quick lunch. This location is the only location I have visited. It is located on Corporate in an area filled with restaurant choices. I would have never picked it, but like many other BR places, a work friend recommended it. He said the pizza is good, but pizza can eat a bag of carbs. I opted for the salad and it was delicious. So delicious that I have been back like three times. I can't help you with the rest of the menu, but if you want a salad, get the black and bleu. The world will be wonderful. read more

This was my first time eating at Newk's Eatery in Baton Rouge. The location is in good area of Baton Rouge located around other restaurants and shops. The parking lot was spacious which is also a plus when being in a well populated city. The inside of Newks does appear to be older and outdated, it is in need of a remodel. When you walk in you order your food right away then you go sit down and wait for them to bring it to your table. Our food came out really quick which was great. I also enjoyed the half club sandwich I got. It was delicious. The Greek salad on the other hand was just okay, in my opinion Panera had better salads. read more

We do not get out this way too often, so it's been a long while since we've been in. I will day I love the menu set up....pick a pair is how I would like all my lunch places to list things. It's finally a bit chilly, and soup is on the menu for me. I had the Newks Q and a potato soup. Hit the spot. Husband had had the Chili saled and tortilla soup. He made the mistake of getting a large saled. Portions are right for lunch. Staff was courteous and on top of things. The restaurant itself is dated. it's time for some repairs. First time at Newks in Baton Rouge. I had the Turkey Avocado sandwich with no mayo and spicy mustard along with a side of fruit. Bread was fabulous, plenty of turkey, appreciated the avocado was mashed. Quite tasty! My partner had the Newks Favorite salad. This was a HUGE salad and everything was so fresh and delicious. I'm not sure why I've never stopped in to Newk's. The inside is huge! Plenty of seats. No problem stopping in during lunch hours, getting our food and having to actually enjoy it. I was torn on on what kind of soup to get. I have to see what I'm getting, so the manager was kind enough to show and walk me thru all of the soups. I had a pizza and soup combo. A full size bbq chicken pizza!!!! They offer keto sweet tea, made with Splenda...WHAAAAA!!!! Looking around they have a nice variety of salads, soups change daily, pizzas and sandwiches. This place was very welcoming. Upon entry you are greeted at the front counter. They offer pizza, soup, sandwiches and salad. The sides also included fruit salad, salad, soup, and pasta salad. At the counter you place your order and find a table. You are given a cup, if purchased. Their is a drink station with fountain drinks and brewed tea. There is also brewed sweet tea along with brewed sugar free sweet tea. The restaurant is self seating and your food is brought out to you. The food: The sandwich I ordered was very fresh with the French bread toasted at the right temperature. The salad was a bit wilted. It was noticeable that the lettuce was on its last days of freshness, it was one step above soggy lettuce and had already started turning brown. The Caesar dressing was over powering. I would suggest a little less dressing for the salad or give the option of heavy/lite. Overall: The service was great but was affected due to the quality of the food. Tonight 12/20/24 me and my family of 5 walk in at 7:45 and we checked online and on the door and it said they and were treated right at the door with a rude comment basically saying "get out because we're not serving you" we try to figure out what we want to eat and waited at the pay register for a good 15 minutes waiting for someone to take our order while all of the workers were standing in a little cluster laughing loudly one of the workers walks up says "well yall walked in very late and we all don't want to serve yall so either leave or eat the breadsticks". So me and my husband and my 3 kids walk out and then one of the workers comes out and says "get out of here". It is not often that I write reviews but this is one of them where this service was terrible. Anyways, hope this helps! read more

First timer. Kept it simple and ordered a pizza and it was delicious. The service was quick as we came really early around 11. My dad had a shrimp poboy and tomato and basil soup and enjoyed it. No one rushed us but could obviously tell it was our first time there. The complimentary bread and butter pickles and breadsticks along with other small things in the middle of the room was interesting but people licking their hands and then touching the utensils. Wonderful customer service, flavorful food and a good variety to boot. It was nice since we all were able to get different things. Well set up for COVID-19 precautions. Everyone loved their meal (as pictured). My only complaint is that the spicy chicken pizza (my meal, minus the tomatoes) was a little bare on cheese and toppings. Otherwise the flavor was great and the red pepper flakes gave it that kick. I also appreciated that the business is providing charitable support to an ovarian cancer organization this month. That, the prices, and the variety, will certainly influence my opinion about returning sooner than later! read more

I ordered the Royal sandwich and needless to say it was a peasant of a sandwich. The lack of meat on this 12 dollar sandwich is pathetic. Can't get Covid-19 at home? Don't you worry because Newk's Eatery will bring it to your house free of charge! That's right! A disease ridden truck right at your house! No need for a crowd at the big box store! They have a no PPE wearing server bringing a virus right to your car!!! They came to our subdivision with a food truck, with dubious sanitary conditions, when I called the restaurant to have them leave the manager was curt and rude, twice. I contacted the HOA and the city of Baton Rouge to see if they had permission to be there and no was the reply. The HOA president called the Sherifs office to have them leave. I contacted Newks corporate offices and they seemed unconcerned that their server was serving without gloves, a face mask or any safeguard. Previously I had little concerns with Newk's but they have lost any chance of a return visit from me to any of their locations. There is a pandemic. Stay home, at least stay away from mine. read more

Well I can tell you where I won't be coming back... Newk's on corporate. Our tell sign should've been the fact that it's a Friday night and no one is here. The woman packing up to-go orders is on her cell phone. There are 5 total workers in the kitchen, we're the only ones here and after 30 minutes still don't have our food. Avoid this location at all costs. Management needs to get their employees under control. read more
