I had not been to a Zaxby's in years. I was on a conference call and decided to use the drive thru. I don't know if there were staffing issues, but it seemed to take forever for the food to be prepared. I was probably 5th in line on the drive-thru line and everything seemed to be in slow motion! When my food was ready, I went and drove home to eat. Going home to eat was the smartest thing I did, because there were no napkins in the bag! The breading on the chicken was dark brown. My initial reaction was they burned the chicken in the deep fryer. I opened the sandwich and bit the chicken and it was actually tender. So I put the sandwich back together and ate it. Obviously from looking at the dark color of the chicken coating they never change the grease in the fryers! This location was rebuilt about a year and a half ago; they need to get their act together.

I've been an avid fan of Jimmy John's for quite some time now and have grown quite used to the fast sandwich making, humorous store signs, and most importantly, great customer service. This last part is something that I've especially come to expect from Jimmy John's, which is what makes my latest visit to the one in Fernandina Beach most surprising. When I first walked in, things seemed to be going well as I was met with genuine greetings of "Welcome to Jimmy John's," and "Hey, what can I get for you?" But I soon found myself in an argument with the store's owner, Josh, over whether or not I got the sandwich I ordered. Now I'm sure that this isn't the first time a Jimmy John's restaurant has gotten an order wrong, but what troubled me most was that Josh seemed to place more value in who was right, me or the receipt, than he did in customer satisfaction. He was extremely stubborn and I find it hard to believe that anyone who understands what Jimmy John's represents would be impressed with his attitude. It saddens me that I have to say goodbye to the only Jimmy John's on the island, but the type of ownership that shop is under makes me extremely hesitant to return. I only hope that others have a better experience than I did. read more

This is an update to my review from a couple days ago. I had an unpleasant experience last time my husband and I were here, but we decided to give it another try yesterday. We explained our hesitance about eating here again and the manager at the time, James, assured us that he would make sure nothing like what we saw would happen in the store again and offered a sincere apology. He even gave us a couple of free sub cards! Thanks James for making my husband and I feel at home at Jimmy John's! We look forward to eating here again soon. read more

This is now the second time in two months that I've ordered a half turkey sub and received what is essentially a lettuce sandwich with a few razor-thin slices of turkey. The sandwich in the attached photo cost $10.50, and it's almost entirely shredded lettuce and tomato with just a few very thin pieces of meat and cheese. For that price, the sandwich should actually contain turkey -- not just filler. After four decades of being a customer, this is honestly pretty shocking to see. The quality and portion here are nowhere close to what Jersey Mike's used to serve. I'm posting this because management should really take a look at what's being served. Customers expect better than this. Shame on Jersey Mike in Fernandina. We won't be back. Two times and two months, the same lack of quality and quantity. Jimmy John and firehouse subs here we come.

They went so far above and beyond to make my 4-year-old's birthday party truly unforgettable. The experience started with Matt, the store manager, who was an absolute star. Matt personally facilitated us having the party right in their dining area, and from the moment our friends and family walked in, we felt completely welcomed and celebrated. He really takes ownership and pride in making sure the community has a great experience. The party itself was a massive success! The kids had the time of their lives burning off all that Chick-fil-A and cake energy in the play area, running, jumping, and sliding to their hearts' content. Of course, the highlight for everyone was the Chick-fil-A Cow making an appearance to take photos with all the excited kids! Beyond Matt, the entire store team was helpful, kind, and genuinely excited for our son. They even took the time to get and sign a birthday card for him, which was such an unexpected and thoughtful touch. It's clear this Chick-fil-A location--from Matt down to the newest team member--truly cares about the Yulee community. This store is a local gem, and we'll definitely be back often! You're supposed to have an enjoyable experience with Chick-Fil-A and while you can by getting anything other than this Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich, it brings into question the underlying intentions of Chick-Fil-A now and that's not something the general public should have to deal with. Either melt the cheese in the spread, or remove the sandwich from the menu, because continuing to provide a disservice to the public is out of the question. This new Location is great with quick service, but why have the drive thru lanes when you always have workers out there anyways not even during peak times. What are we doing?

I don't think I've come in once where they haven't been super short staffed and most of the team seems newer and confused. They do always handle the crowd and the pace with friendliness but you can tell the employees are sometimes tense with one another and it doesn't seem like they're set up for success. The restaurant is always clean, and I do feel like they have good people working here, I'm just hoping they can get their staffing issues and training figured our so this Jersey Mikes can be here for a long time!
