I walked in and there was one employee behind the counter and one sitting in the lobby on their phone (they may have been on break, but they also offered to help as soon as I walked in). This is the third time I have been to this location on a Saturday at 6PM and they have been out of bread. It's a sandwich shop, how are you out of bread? My friends were able to get a sandwich, but I couldn't. Then my friend had to ask for a refund because the coke machine wasn't working. No bread. No beverages. We were on vacation and it was lunchtime so a lot of places were busy we went into one location we were seated instantly but we waited 5 to 10 minutes and no one took a drink order even stopped by and we saw tables seated after us get service so we got up and left both me and my husband were super hungry and we saw a Jimmy John's across the street we know we like Jimmy John's as we have one by us at home so we figured it would be quick and easy. The staff at this location was very friendly, it was very clean, the food was just as we expected. Alright, finally putting this on Yelp after multiple bad experiences here recently. We LOVE Jimmy John's, don't get me wrong. We use this location for walk in because it's near us and I use it a lot working from home for delivery. Our last few experiences have just been ridiculous. At least twice my veggie sandwich has no avocado, which is weird and annoying. A couple weeks ago my delivery came without the chips I paid for and my sandwich literally only had cheese and lettuce! They of course brought the order back but by then it was a good 45 minutes since placing my order for the advertised "exceptional delovery." Today we ordered and delivery took 35 minutes, my poor husband opens his Vito with bacon and it is literally just lettuce and bacon. No cheese, no Vito meat. I called and had to talk to two people who seemed confused and then ended up laughing about it. They sent out another sandwich and ASKED for the other one back!?! What in the world? We found that hilarious as he had already started picking at it because we were hungry and in a hurry to leave the house. I'm always hesitant to order here because of these instances, but of course we love Jimmy John's! This time, however, has been our last for a while. We work in service and completely get it, mistakes happen. But I can't be the only person who happens to have mistakes on orders, consistently. So..... apparently someone employed at this store doesn't appreciate working a full shift as I'm sure his manager and employer expect him/her to. I placed an on line order at 8:42 PM fully aware they close at 9pm. I think I can expect that if their hours say open until 9pm, they do business until 9pm and the employees get paid to stay and close up the store AFTER 9pm . If not, the on line ordering feature needs to NOT take orders at a certain time BEFORE they close. This sarcastic note left in my bag with my sandwich and hatefully SMASHED cookie... had me concerned that eating the sandwich might NOT be in my best interests. In the trash it went. Especially since I'm a police officer and had it delivered to my office......(which is 6 minutes / 2.7 miles from the store.....) I have to believe this was intentionally done by some anti-police millennial. Sad. It makes me wonder what happened to this person to make them so unhappy with their job and with law enforcement...... UPDATE: Within 48 hrs I had received email responses to my complaint from corporate and the store owners. Store owner Steve stated that he held an employee meeting about this issue and wanted to ensure to me that this kind of conduct will not be repeated. Apparently the offending employee was a manager who was promptly demoted to delivery driver. I'm satisfied with the response and resolution. I have changed my rating from one star to 3 stars and feel I should leave this review in place in case others have, or may experience something similar in the future and can reference it. read more

You know how Floyd's Barbershops are sort of like a Supercuts with a tricked-out faux-hip decor? Jimmy Johns is sort of like a Subway with a tricked-out faux-hip decor. Except they don't use the great, heaping portions of savory gourmet deli meats like Subway. I ordered their signature sandwich, the Italian whatever...but made the apparently unforgivable error of asking for it to be heated. I was told loudly by the owner/manager....OUR MOTTO IS NO HOT SANDWICHES, AND NO SOUP! He forgot the AND NO GOOD TASTE part. I am a glutton. This was my first time trying Jimmy Johns in Golden and it will be my last time. I ordered sandwiches for 9 people attending a lunch meeting. I gave very specific instructions on where to go, since I work in a large building, and asked that the driver call me upon arrival. After an hour, I called to check on the order and learned that it had been taken somewhere on the opposite side of the building and I had not received a call from the driver. I know - 5 stars for a Jimmie Johns? But there is more to the story. JJ's was the only place I could find that took ApplePay and dummy me, I forgot my wallet. So I order a sandwich, drink, and chips. About $10. Per their advertising, the sandwich was sitting on the counter before the guy behind the counter could ring me up. Of course, ApplePay is not working today. No wallet, no ApplePay, no food right? WRONG! The manager (don't want to use her name as the owners might read this) says, don't sweat it. It's on me. Small gestures mean a TON in my book. 1.5 stars would be a good rating for this place. The sandwiches are Jimmy Johns, so they are worth maybe two or three stars. The service, simply the worst I have ever had at a sandwich shop. I told the guy at the counter that I was thinking about a turkey sandwich (I had a friend from Serbia with me so I was helping him with the menu). The guy had the gall to get snarky with me. The good- sandwiches are consistently tasty. The bad- service is sometimes really rude. Sometimes when I call for delivery they deliver my order without issue, but sometimes they tell me I'm out of their delivery range (which I shouldn't be, the jimmy johns by the mills doesn't deliver here so this one should, I'm about halfway between the two). I suppose I should call and try to talk to the owner or manager because it really is upsetting that they are so inconsistent with their service and if they fixed that problem I would order quite often. There is nothing about the Golden Jimmy John's that would encourage me to go to it over any of the other multitude of sandwich shops downtown. I have had my share of both good and bad experiences at the Jimmy John's. Everything from mouthwatering sandwiches to stale bread with tasteless ingredients. This Jimmy John's has food that I would rate as 4 star but a personality I would rate as 5 star. I typically have this toasted italian sandwich which consists of salami and some really yummy sauce I don't know the name of. It's never failed to hit the spot, but if you're looking for an intense gourmet sandwich, I don't think this is quite what you're looking for. I place a lot of food order for the Colorado School of Mines. Jimmy John's has never been late or given me a problem with the whole tax exempt thing the school has you do. If you have the chance, I would suggest you talk to Steve, the owner. I three seconds flat, he knows your name/last place of delivery/last delivery order which makes for a very smooth ordering experience. He's got the best attitude and a great understanding of what customer service really means. He takes the time to ask about your day and connect with his customers. Moral of the story, this gets lost in a lot of chain restaurants. But, you'll always be an individual at this Jimmy John's! read more

The bacon was raw, the lettuce was browning, the spinach was dry, the bread was stale, and they put mayo instead of ranch. I work in golden and have been ordering from this place for YEARS. Usually they are ok, today I am finally taking the time to write this review because it's unacceptable. So occasionally (yes this has happened before) when ordering the turkey tom, the turkey is bad. This happened this time and it was REALLY bad. So i called to let them know. I wasn't rude or demanding. If you have ever eaten bad lunchmeat before you know what i am talking about - when I asked the manager if he had experienced this (he didn't seem to understand what i meant when i said the meat was bad) he started to get an attitude with me which was very frustrating. He kept insisting their turkey is sliced fresh daily. Clearly it doesn't matter if it's sliced daily if it's not stored to temperature (or whatever the problem was) and GOES BAD. i then asked if we could have replacement sandwiches and he seemed confused as to why we didn't want more turkey sandwiches. i asked if we could have the exact same sandwiches with ham instead the turkey meat. he made some comment about the price needing to be the same and then insisted we return the bad sandwiches like he didn't believe me. so when the new sandwiches came - they were not prepared the same and both had cheese and mayo like my coworker and i specifically asked not to have on the sandwiches. the whole ordeal from the time i ordered and got the "good" sandwiches took an hour. so there went my lunch break. i talked with the girl who delivered the sandwiches, and she looked at one of them and remarked the meat on my coworker's sandwich was GREY IN COLOR! I have never had a worse delivery experience from anywhere EVER. Today I ordered my sandwich for delivery online at 12:28, at 12:38 this order had been received and was on the way according to tracker on there app. During this time I was at school and as I waited for my sandwich class started, and after another 30 minutes I got a call saying my order had arrived. I walked out to meet the delivery guy and for starters he seemed very unprepared and was also rude. Although walking away from this, I was irritated, I had been excited for the hopefully delicious sandwich I just payed for, but sadly they had given me the wrong sandwich. I would not recommend this location for anything but in store dining considering the terrible delivery service. Wow - Harsh Reviews Here! I LOVE Jimmy John's. I'm five months pregnant. And even though they say, "no deli meat," I cheat and come here for the #17 - Ultimate Porker. They always load on the meat (Perhaps Jeff K. just ordered the small sub instead of the club?), and the bread is absolutely delicious. I'm a mayo and lettuce type of girl, so that's all I get. My man loves the Gargantuan - it's pretty much one of everything, on a sub. And now, I need to address the other reviews, because they left me a bit confused. Charge for extra toppings? I visited their website because I didn't remember this being true. Free toppings = Onion, lettuce, alfalfa sprouts, tomato, mayo, sliced cucumber, Dijon mustard, oil & vinegar, and oregano. Toppings they charge for = Extra meat, Extra cheese, Avocado, Hot peppers. Sounds about right, I'd expect to pay extra for those things anywhere. Oh, and the pickles. Yeah, they're a buck. But they're HUGE! It's basically a barrel pickle, sliced lengthwise. I wouldn't give those away for free either! I think the other reviewers forget that Jimmy John's is franchised - that means the owner/manager of this location is held to the standards of Jimmy Johns! Giving this specific location a bad rating based on the fact that they won't heat up a sandwich (No Jimmy Johns does!) is unfair. Basically, you go to Jimmy Johns if you want a quick sub. This place rinds me of Subway - uninspired, basic sandwiches of the kind that can be purchased for less at a grocery store deli. The employees are bro types who YELL constantly; sometimes at new people walking in, or at each other. Anyway, I found it to be obnoxious. The other issue was the ladies' restroom. They seem to keep the door locked and avoid letting paying customers use it. While there, I watched three different women trying and failing to open the door, then asking for a key, then being told that no key is necessary, then having employees roll their eyes when the ladies ( including an elderly woman and a grade school aged girl) asked for help getting the door open. read more

Worst customer service ever today! I've never had a bad experience with a Jimmy John's until today. My order was wrong and delivery took way longer than usual. I do not care about the delivery time so I didn't mention ot when I called about my sandwich. The manager refused to do anything about my sandwich unless I waited another 45 minutes to an hour for another sandwich. Unfortunately I do not have all day and have to leave for an appt.
