So, I don't base my ratings off of whether the food/service/ambience at a restaurant is amazing or not, I base it off of how it compares to my expectations of what it is. And this James Jonathan's (as it is so lovingly referred to in my household) meets my expectations for what it is - a sub shop that doesn't toast their sandies, and is freaky fast. Meets. But does not exceed. Every time I order from here, my order is accurate, ready before I even arrive, and is consistent as well as delicious. The staff here are starting to recognize me, and are friendly once they know you're cool. They can't help the location, which is dummy inconvenient, I've gotta say. I attended an event at WorkWell where Jimmy John's (JJ's) catered lunch at the event; thereby, these comments are on their catering. JJ's sent two very personable employees who kept us stocked with ham and turkey sandwiches, that we were very pleased with. The bread tasted like it just came out of the oven. There were the typical accompanying chips in various flavors, not just one type. And, desserts were included, multiple types of cookies, brownies, and drinks galore. I can't comment on the cost as I didn't pay, but I can say that JJ's provided turn-key catering service with friendly employees, and a filling lunch. read more

I ordered through Doordash and, because Jimmy John's has their own drivers, they canceled the order due to not having a driver. The manager, Linda, was dismissive and rude and told me to contact doordash myself and when I explained that we could not cancel the order through doordash because the order was already in place she continued to argue with me about it being possible to cancel through the app which it is not. The lack of staffing is their responsibility and her initial refusal to contact doordash or even apologize for the inconvenience suggests she does not prioritize customer service and I'd encourage anyone ordering sandwiches to go somewhere else. read more

I came by for dinner one night last week during Hurricane Harvey week. This was one of the few nearby dinner spots open when I arrived at about 7:30 p.m. Inside there were about 6 diners and one employee. For some reason, he was operating the restaurant by himself. As I waited in a short line about 6-7 more people walked in to order but the employee assured me it would be a short wait. I ordered the #7 smoked ham sandwich with a bag of chips to go. He informed me that they didn't have any lettuce due to Harvey and I said ok. Besides there weren't many other places to eat that night. They were also out of ice and he said the soda was not cool so I decided to forego the drink. During my approximate 5-7 minute wait, I ate the bag of BBQ chips which is their house brand and thought they were good. I took the sandwich home and enjoyed it. Even without the lettuce it was good. Their bread is always so fresh and I assume that they were open due to the fact that they make their own bread onsite and weren't dependent on deliveries during that week. The employee working that night was exceptional in my opinion. He always maintained a cheerful atmosphere even though he was overloaded. I wish I had written down his name. He should be commended. It breaks my heart to give a Jimmy Johns restaurant a 2 star, however I must. The sandwich I ordered was good, but the customer service was not. I guess I surprised the 2 guys working since one was at a booth on his phone and the other was sitting behind the counter eating. The guy at the register was hard to understand because he mumbled and neither one smiled. I worked in fast food for 8 years and you smile and make the costumer feel welcome. The customer service at this store is usually pretty bad. If I simply place my order with my app and get it delivered then it's ok. However if I want to add salami to my sandwich they charge 2.00, if I want to add bacon they charge 2.00 but if I want to swap the salami for bacon I STILL HAVE TO PAY 2.00, that is 25% of the price of the sandwich. That is stupid. Also an upcharge if u switch bread. For bad customer service and to be nickled and dimed I'll take my business elsewhere. Sweet Jesus. This place is a mind-boggle to me. Initially I was all about it. I love that they deliver - huge plus for me. The food is really fresh. They have a simple menu, that has something for everyone. And the sandwiches are not overpriced either. What I don't love, is that the last 3 orders I've placed to have delivered have been wrong. And they don't seem to care. By the time you call in and get the right order redelivered you are inevitably starving and pissed, or in my case you have already hit up the snack stash and aren't hungry. Either way, this aspect of this location SUCKS. I tried to give them a chance, but now, officially, I'd suggest that you pick your order up and double check it. Otherwise overall good food, but not better than subway (cheaper) or quicker either. read more

I discovered Jimmy John's while on vacation in Wisconsin this summer. I was floored by how good their subs were and couldn't understand why we didn't have these in Texas. I got home and hit the Internet in search of their website so I could let them know my need for Jimmy John's. Imagine my surprised when I found out how many are in the Houston area! I had to have one. I have now become a semi-regular customer at this location. My favorite sandwich is the Italian Night Club. SO good! I usually eat half then finish the other half later, double the goodness. The best way I've found to describe this place when people ask about it. I tell them it is SO much better than Subway. It is like comparing the pre-packaged lunch meat to the Boar's Head deli meat. The only drawback is that they don't have "combos" but other than that it hasn't kept me from stopping in for a sub, chips and drink. They make the sandwich quick and are so fresh. They really want customers to get a quality sandwich and you can taste it. Now, if I can only get them to build one in Cypress...I'd be in heaven! read more

In my opinion, Jimmy John's is so much better than Subway. This particular location always delivers on the food and service. I frequent here alot since it is practically across the street from my home and is one of the few places I can eat while maintaining a low carb lifestyle, and I order for delivery alot since it is close to my job as well. I have never had any issues with this location. The food is always fresh and delivered in a timely manner. I always order the Hunter's Club Unwhich which is roast beef. I am particular about my roast beef, I like it on the well done side, and cannot eat it with any trace of blood. I always request that they give me the most well done roast beef, and they always accommodate me without any issue. They always go show me how the roast beef looks that particular day and often go through to find the most well done cut which I really appreciate. The rare times that I do order bread, it is always fresh. I love their 7 grain bread as well, but do wish that they would consider adding one more bread option. I other thing I really appreciate, is that every time I have been in here, everyone is always wearing gloves. I have walked in several times and the employees were on break, eating. They get up, wash their hands and then put on gloves before preparing my food. They are on top of food prep standards here. I have been to other places where I have to ask that they glove their hands before preparing my food, or they don't wash their hands, but that is not the case here. Fresh baked bread a HUGE PLUS and nice BRAND NAME deli meats & HELLMANS Mayo. I would like to see a good seeded Jewish Oval Delicatessen to be offered ! Like in NYC metro or Philly or N Miami Beach. A spongy authentic seeded Jewish rye TRULY completes a sandwich shop. So does the offering of " TOASTED" breads and sub Rolls. SO does the offering of a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich cooked on a hit grille which I find lacking at Jimmy John's. These places are fun to visit with their corny humorous signage and nice wood accenting and tic tac tile accompaniment and accent. They tend to skimp on the quantity of meat in a regular sub which I find odd. Infrequently order the gargantuan because if this. SOOOOO. I only order online and have it delivered so I've never been in the store. They deliver my sandwich incredibly fast. I don't know how. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We ordered delivery through them, and they let us know that they didn't deliver out to our location and that was fine. We understood. But then who I believe to be the manager told us that he would deliver to us anyway so okay great, we were very thankful and excited. So we cancelled our first order since we had already paid and then he told us we'd have to pay in cash only? Seemed odd but okay, we had cash. Everything about this location is awkward. At 11 am they had at least 6 people behind the counter. I said "wow, fully staffed huh?" and the lady responds "well lunch will be starting soon!" Ok. cool. They have directed me to purchase more of these delectible assemblies of tasty, fresh ingredients, but alas, the nearest JJ's was 1/2 hour away...till now!! wOot! An Italian Night Club with hot peppers, a Club Lulu or Ultimate Porker - and for the truely hungry, the JJ Gargantuan. All this delivered faster after your order than any other place, with JJ's delectable baguette sandwich bread (you can get regular sammy slices too). this is the second time I have ordered from here and had my lunch take over 35 minutes!!! I call to check if they even got my online order, that's pretty sad! I placed my order this afternoon and got the confirmation email at 12:05. It is now 1:00 exactly and I still do not have a sandwich!! I called to talk to the manager about how ridiculous service is getting, and he proceeds to accept my comment of not wanting the sandwich anymore and replies with "Ill have the order voided, thank you." and hangs up!! How is that rectifying the situation? I called back to give Ryan some advise on how to be a manager. He could have said "Ill take care of the meal for today, I do apologize." I would have forgiven the whole thing! Instead I had to call him back to tell him how to keep a customer happy?!? And he says " normally customers tell me what they want and I do it, I didn't want to argue with you, so I accepted your comment to void the order" I had a very calm tone, as this is something not worth blowing a lid over.
