I stopped in for a Thai chicken wrap. The sweet and crunchy taste sensation is an eating experience! I walked in at 5:45pm on a Saturday. Two people were working the line and working it fast. My order was done before I could even go over the menu. I sat inside and sipped their Lipton Iced Tea while watching customers drop in. This location has a dog-friendly patio. There was some paper litter flying around that the crew never bothered to clean up. I'm sure the sunsets here are spectacular. read more

I decided to give this place a try and the food is not bad at all. It's not like subway where you pick your own ingredients. You pick a sandwich and that's it. I saw a brown sauce and asked one of the employee what that was. I asked multiple times and she had trouble understanding. Maybe she doesn't know English very well or something. She became flustered and looked behind her for an Asian employee, which I'm assuming is the manager. I asked the manager the same thing and he looked off into another direction and shrugged his shoulders. I thought that was weird as hell. Jimmy John's is A-OK. I can get a quick veggie sandwich, exactly what I want on it, in a quick manner, with nice service. I am always traveling on business when I stop so they serve the purpose. This time I noticed they had options for sprouts! That was a bonus. Got my sandwich (with sprouts!), water and back on the road in no time. I am done with this place. There are to many options in places to spend your money. The several times I have been here, I noticed an employee with a high Afro sticking up from this head cover. Not very appetizing. I would not have accepted a sandwich made by this individual. I spent 32years in the food industry and this would not be acceptable. I walk in today at about 10:45. I like Jimmy Johns and my visit to this location was just as expected. You get food fast and it's consistent so you get the sandwich you were hoping for. The people here are helpful and attentive just like other stores. The Italian I got was good. The only complaint I have with JJ's is that the bottom of the sandwich does t have meat in its bottom bites because if he way hey are make with a "lettuce liner" that separates the meat from the bread. I had a great experience ordering a roast beef sandwich aka "Big John." I walked up to get a drink and my sandwich was already made...wow! The guy at the counter was nice, but I did notice several young employees working in the back. Maybe the negative reviews mentioned previously stem from being inexperience and lack of customer service training - I blame the manager or the owner. Train your people in the art of hospitality. Haven't eaten it since getting sick for eating it (usually the gf would bring it back to the house), but the one time I walked in I was blasted by a sickeningly sweet/sour smell like the food was going bad sitting there; I get that arizona is an oven during the summer but I'm fairly certain that when dealing with open storage food that the temperature needs to be around 65 degrees Fahrenheit to keep things safe for consumption, the store was the same temperature if not hotter than what it was outside that day. read more

I have no idea why they have her working the register, she's not friendly at all, I definitely would not want her to be the face of my company. Nothing like treating employees terribly in front of a customer. So, Friday evening, July 8, 2022, I went to Jimmy John's for a simple dinner. I ordered one regular combo of one sandwich type, then I ordered another regular combo with a different sandwich. The employee working the register and taking my order apparently didn't understand what I said and didn't give me a combo on the second sandwich. No big deal. When we both realized the mistake, he called another employee over who was apparently the manager. The manager proceeded to berate the cashier and speak extremely hatefully to him. I heard enough that I was extremely angered he would speak to an employee like that, especially in front of a customer (what would have happened if no customers were in the store?). I said something to him to the effect of, that's really shameful that you would speak to him like that, especially while customers are in the store. He then launched into me, saying essentially that it's really frustrating that he has to correct so many mistakes. Wow! Talk about a hostile work environment! I asked another employee (the delivery driver) for the manager's name, and I was told that it is "Chu". I left the store, then called the phone number on the receipt and asked to speak with the manager. The female who answered turned the phone over to another person. It didn't take long to realize that I was speaking with the same person. I asked his name, and he said, "We don't give out personal information." His attitude was condescending and hateful. He suggested that my response was racist, because he is Asian. (Absolutely not true. I believe the cashier was Hispanic, but didn't really pay attention to ethnicity, even when the driver told me the manager's name was "Chu".) He proudly announced that he knew my name and phone number (was that a threat?). That's fine. I've dealt with worse. I asked him for the phone number for corporate headquarters. He told me I could look it up on the internet. He further informed me that any consumer complaints would be directed to him, basically telling me I was wasting my time to complain. I asked him for contact information for the store owner. Again, he said they don't give out personal information. I told him, guess what, Chu? I'm now committed to going to the Secretary of State's Office and researching their records to determine who owns the franchise. He made some comment to the effect that I would come back to him. Well, if that's the case, Jimmy John's in Sierra Vista will never get another dollar from me. If that's not the case, the owner is going to find out what a total liability he's got running his store. Follow-up: I posted this information onto a local social media chat page. The response was overwhelming. In just about 32 hours, there are 188 reactions and 164 comments. I was shocked to find out that there were so many similar experiences dealing with this manager. Come to find out, the owner is a local chiropractor (Dr. Tap Duong) and the manager is his brother, Tinh. Research on that social media page, alone, revealed that this problem has been well known to Dr. Tap for years; many people have complained to him, police have even been called, protests organized outside the store - yet he has done nothing to eliminate the liability his brother is exposing him to by creating such a hostile work environment. Numerous people who previously worked there reached out to me privately. To all of them, I encourage your continued fight against such behavior. These claims may be of interest to the Arizona Attorney General's Office or the Department of Labor. I've got your back if you decide to proceed. To Dr. Tap - Do something, or many of us will never spend another dollar in Jimmy John's, Sierra Vista. read more

I travel full time and eat at jimmy johns all over the country. I've never had a bad experience anywhere except Sierra Vista. This is my second. I just picked up 3 16" sandwiches to feed the starving crew cleaning up my burned out house. I opened one and it's a stick of bread. Too late to get back there now. Anywhere else I've ever gotten a Jimmy Johns sandwich, the fillings are present enough to see and usually overflowing. My crew will quit early if I can't get more calories in them than this wimpy crap sandwich. See photos Edit: all three 16" sandwiches jimmied up. That usually means "watch for drips and runs because this sandwich is juicy." After choking down 1/2 the sandwich, it's so dry I cut my lip in 2 places on the sharp crust. I am a huge jimmy johns fan. For the first time, I just had a negative experience at a jimmy johns. I ordered an Italian "jimmy it up" and a water. The counter guy disappeared so I grabbed a small cup, identical to the cups I've gotten for water at Jimmy johns all over the country and filled it with water. When I picked up my sandwich, the counter guy actually took my water away to "inventory" it and gave me a smaller plastic cup, for which there are no lids. Later, I opened my sandwich and it was not only not jimmied up, but was the only half filled sandwich I've ever had from jimmys. I'll have to avoid the Sierra vista jimmy johns in the future. Very unhappy with my visit tonight. The food was fine, but we had a bad interaction with the employees- after my sandwich was finished and wrapped, I asked for some peppers on the side. (I had gotten them on my sandwich on a previous visit, but they made the bread soggy by the time I got home, so I wanted them on the side to prevent that this time. This should not be an unreasonable request in any fastfood take-out situation). The guy said "we can't put them on the side, only on the sandwich". I said "my sandwich is already wrapped, can you just put some in a little cup for me?" The employee looked at me and said, "no, we can't give them on the side". I told them to just leave the peppers off then, and the three employees laughed. I was absolutely not amused. After some googling, it seems that there is some kind of policy at JJs of not giving things on the side. It seems to be randomly enforced, but there are certainly other instances of people having similarly frustrating experiences as mine. This is an idiotic policy and an arbitrary one. There are plenty of legitimate reasons a person might want something on the side, and to be so rude and dismissive about these requests goes against the entire principle of customer service. Wrap some up in some paper, put them in a little water cup. Whatever. But to just look at me and say, "we CAN'T do that" when what they really mean is "we WON'T do that, for no good reason" is insulting and indefensible. Treating people like crap doesn't make your dumb little sandwich shop edgy or unique. It makes it bad. In conclusion, we only went to JJs because it was close to our house. The food is fine, nothing particularly noteworthy, but the employees at this location are rude and the company itself apparently enforces some truly terrible customer service policies. I will drive the extra five minutes and just go to Subway. The food is basically the same there, but the employees are always friendly and helpful, and that matters. I will certainly never be eating at a JJ's again, here in Sierra Vista or anywhere else. Ps. I hope the Jersey Mike's that is opening in town soon cuts JJs business in half. read more

I was SO excited we were getting a JJ's because I usually don't have time to leave work for lunch and had heard great things about them. My husband and I stopped in about a week ago. He got the tuna sub, which I had a bite of and it was delicious, and my sandwich was honestly just alright...it was so "just alright" that I don't even remember what I ordered. The staff wasn't very friendly. Not rude either, but not what you'd expect of a place that just recently opened and is building a reputation in a small town. Anyway, I just tried to order a tuna sandwich on my break, and apparently 3 miles is outside of their delivery range! What the hell?! It takes 5-10 min to get from JJ's to my work. Unfortunately, the service was not. This is the unfriendliest Jimmy John's I've ever been to. The cashier would have rather been anywhere else, and she gave off an attitude that said so. When my son asked the girl at the end of the line if he could have some hot peppers on his sandwich, she plopped an unnecessarily huge amount on his small sandwich and never even looked at us or said a word. I was torn between giving 1 or 2 stars, here's why. On our recent visit to this location I asked them to not put mayo on half the sandwich since my daughter and I were splitting it and she died not like mayo. They told me they couldn't. So we had to leave the mayo off and were given mayo packets to add to my half. When I asked for some ranch for her half they said it would be an extra cost. Really!! We go to Subway all the time and these request are never an issue. The sandwich was ok but due to the fact that they are not willing to work with the customer at all to get the sandwich they want, we will not be returning. Subway will keep our buisness! read more

If you don't mind the limited menu, JJ's has some good-tasting sandos. This was my 2nd trip to the SV store. The first time I got the standard Pepe (#1) and it was good, had enough meat, and satisfied my hunger. This second trip I got the standard Big John (#2), and while good, the amount of meat seemed light; like what you'd expect from Subway - a bit disappointing. My first trip I stopped by in the early evening and did the standard in-store order. I had two others in front of me and the time from order to pick-up was acceptable. The second trip I did an online order at lunch time (very busy). If you can plan your pick-up (I think the minimum pick-up time is 30 minutes), I recommend you use the online order form and pay via credit/debit card. When I arrived to pick up my order, the order line had seven people in line and the pick-up line had about 10 people waiting. I walked back to the pick-up counter, gave my name and waited less than 2 minutes for my sandwich. Having paid ahead of time, I grabbed the bag and headed for the door (although I did notice that I owe an additional $0.03, which I'll pay for on my next trip). All in all, the sandwiches are good. The number of meats is limited and you only get Provolone, if you want cheese. None of these are deal breakers if you're looking for a good sandwich, though. Give them a try. read more

Walk in and the place is empty.. the folks were waiting at the counter and didn't greet our group. Their attitudes were extremely unwelcoming. Since I've never been there before it took me longer to order and I asked a question and the kid looked at my like I had a JJ sub growing out of my forehead. Then I said I wanted a pickle and he said "we don't do pickles." "Do you want it on the side?" At that point due to his attitude I just said no thanks since I didn't want to deal with him. My group sat there and watched the four teenagers and no one smiled. Not once. Didn't even say "thanks" for coming in. I'm only visiting but I won't return for the few weeks I'm here.
