Nobody has rated this place yet? Hard to believe. Jimmy's Diner has been around for a pretty long time. We discovered it last year, in a pretty construction-ridden and beat-up part of Mastic. And the diner itself is nothing fancy: no sleek, streamlined facades; just your basic, small, country kitchen type diner, with your "regulars" that the staff know by name. They have a "Daily Specials" board that doesn't change much -- but that's okay, because the specials are pretty good with a decent variety, and a regular menu that lists all the common diner fare and more. The food is good, the staff are nice, and the prices are just as good or better than any other diner. If you're in the area and looking for a good diner, give it a try. read more

Food was very good. Place was super small, like uncomfortable to wait small. They had alot of political posters supporting Trump which made me a bit uncomfortable. Their staff were extremely friendly. Their food was nice and hot. They have so many breakfast options, including grits, which I rarely see any where on Long Island. Management and staff were extremely friendly. Bring cash! They do not take cards. It can get a tad bit chilly in the restaurant especially because it's so small and the door is constantly being opened by customers so bring a jacket. Their parking lot is gravel and they are on a busy road. I would not recommend bringing more than 4 people at a time to this restaurant. Last, but not least, they are cheap!!!!!! I had made many attempts to go to Jimmy's Diner in the past. They close at three o'clock so it's not easy for me to get here. But being on vacation and with nothing to do, I made my way to a date with some breakfast. Pulling in I noticed the parking lot was not paved, this really isn't good if your car rides low or if you have rims. I quickly found a spot and came in. I love the small cozy atmosphere this place provides. They have no music but they do have a TV playing the News. The door bell is hilarious, it sounds like a door bell from a mansion when you walk in. All the stool at the bar were filled with Fire Fighters and Contractors, I decided to sit at a table. The waitress, Katie was amazing! She joked around with all the guests and spoke clearly and was very energetic. Katie was one of the main reasons I enjoyed my visit to Jimmy's. The food was great, it came out fast and hot. I never had sausage links long and thin like this but they were delicious. She got my eggs right also. I asked for extra cheese and that's what I got. I will definitely be back. I am very happy I went to Jimmy's, if you haven't yet make the trip over and stop on in. read more

Walked in and there was only one table in front which was too small for our group. It was Saturday, mid-morning and we were too hungry and impatient to wait. I was already out the door waiting for the rest of our group to exit when one of the waitresses came out to ask if we were staying. I thanked her, saying no, it didn't look like there was enough room and her reply was "we'll make room for you, come on in". That morning began our great experience with Jimmy's Diner. They quickly put two tables together while another couple already seated at a larger table moved to a smaller one to help the staff accommodate us (proof there really are nice people among us). Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service and food here is great. Since then, we stop in for breakfast whenever we are in the neighborhood. I highly recommend Jimmy's Diner. Jimmy's is a great diner/luncheonette. Lots of childhood memories of this place. Food is still great, and there is still that small town everybody knows your name feel. Only complaint the remodel they did 10 years ago or so made it too nice. I miss the old regular chair sized counter, and 1950's relic appliances and such. I especially miss the old neon sign that simply read EATS. In fact back in high school we didn't even call it Jimmy's we called it Eats. Long drive out to the Hamptons and had a craving for diner food. Jimmy's was on the way. It really isn't much to look at from the outside, but the people are wonderful, the food is home-cooked and the portions are good size. I would argue it's a value play and I just loved the blueberry pancakes (large stack of course). Will stop here on my way home, I do suspect! read more

Great homey spot with real cabinets in the kitchen for that right at home feel with seating comprised of a counter to sit 6 as well as the 4- 4 seat tables. Solid good food and a friendly, no frills atmosphere that was slightly loud for my liking for breakfast but not overbearing. Had standard thin bread French toast with over easy eggs and corned beef hash (which was super fresh btw) all cooked perfectly. Check did take long due to staff BS'ing, but overall very good experience and would return. read more

Excellent place for breakfast or lunch. Burgers are filling and accurately cooked to order, onion rings are crispy and golden, pancakes and waffles are cooked perfectly, and the biscuits and gravy are great! Super friendly and fast service (you'll have your food in about 5, maybe 10 minutes max), and the servers are very friendly and attentive. Kitchy cute little signs. Heads up, it's a very small and often bustling place, and to get to the tiny, not very welcoming bathroom, you kind of have to walk through the kitchen/grill area. But my biggest issue with Jimmy's is that they STILL don't accept plastic. A little silly to be a cash only restaurant nowadays (in New York especially), and while it's their choice, there have been more than one occasion where my family and I went elsewhere because no one had any money on them nor did we feel like stopping at the ATM before hand. For those reasons, I'm taking off a star. (I'd make it 4 and a half if Yelp would allow it) read more

This is a "OLD SCHOOL" local diner ! I love this place and will be back. I can't believe I have lived in the area and waited too long to try it. I ordered coffee, small Manhattan clam chowder soup and a patty melt with potato salad. This is a classic old school order. I was in heaven. Will be back to try breakfast. read more
