Well I was going to give it this place four stars but things transpired. Is the food fresh? Yes. My corn beef hash was made with real corn beef! Was the food good? Eh, not salted, very overcooked/dry but the freshness really made it better. The food was still bland though. Is it expensive? Yes. Probably almost double what you would pay at IHOP, Cracker Barrel, or Denny's. The whole place reeked of rotten eggs! I'm not even joking even though it was kind of humorous as my husband thought someone had let it rip! Haha We had to physically stop another waiter for a refill because we were out of drink for 20 minutes. The wait was long for food, and they forget to give you napkins, the correct drink, the correct food. I understand they are busy but you shouldn't have to track down your waitress because she forgot about you. We looked at the menu and we didn't see where it said they charge for refills and the waitress didn't tell us yet us two were charged for it. Two meals and two drinks was $30!! I don't know about your budget but in our household we always try to eat cheap unless it's a very special celebration. This was just a date breakfast we usually have once every few weeks. We assume it's all the extra stuff they charged us for. Oh well, live and learn. I gave them two stars for fresh food but will never come back. Too bad! read more

I love their food and the variety of options you get to choose from. I especially liked their sweet potato pancake, it was very moist and delicious. I usually get their breakfast combo end add pancakes to it. Their skillets are also delicious. I would recommend the Philly cheese steak skillet. An undiscovered Gem! I don't know why this place isnt busier. I had breakfast there today and it was a very enjoyable experience. Now i know its tough to messup breakfast but a lot of restaurants do. My omlet was cooked perfect with a generous amount of fillings, the toast was thick cut and fresh. The hash browns were cooked to a nice golden brown and the service was not only fast but very friendly. The place was immaculate, in fact i saw them cleaning the kitchen while i was there, everything was spotless. In addition they have take-out and do catering! If you are looking for a great place to have breakfast or lunch in the Clifton Park area I would highly recomend this place. read more

My wife and I are regulars here and we love it. We have met the owners (and their little guy) and they seem like genuine, hard working folks. Our impression of the place is you get a lot of food for not a lot of money. There will always be times when you have to wait a little longer, or a mistake is made, but if you let them know they do a great job of trying to fix the issue. And, some of the servers there are kids and still learning. I know that's not an excuse but in the grand scheme of things is a forgotten water or burnt toast really going to ruin your day?. My recommendation is to get the country fried steak. It's as big as the plate and you won't leave hungry. The fresh fruit is always good and you can tell your Mom you had something healthy! read more

Great selection from skillet, omelettes, to "make your own order." Wait staff very pleasant, and our coffee was kept filled. I had the Santa Fe skillet and my wife had the Baja omelette. Both entrées were fresh and tasty. We came in at 10AM on President's day holiday and experienced slow service. Even though the coffee was filled, it didn't stay hot for very long but I think that is a problem in general in restaurants. The only other disappointment is that the selections are a bit pricey. read more

I recently visited Jimmy's Egg for the first time and had a great experience! My breakfast was quickly served and was very good. My server Joyce was on top of our table and took good care of us. The owner Holly stopped and talked to our table. I was surprised to learn she lives nearby and that this is a hometown establishment. Was expecting better, but disappointed in the food overall. Toast tasted like it was soaked in day old grease. Service was good tho.

We stopped there on a Sunday at 11am, and approximately 2 weeks after they first opened. The place was hopping with a line out the door. It was a high pressure situation for the staff, but I think they handled it well. We only ended up waiting approximately 10-15 minutes for our seating, and I felt this was acceptable because we came to a newly opened restaurant at a peak time. The atmosphere was busy, but clean, and our server was attentive. My impression of the food is good. The ingredients were fresh, and I would compare them to a better quality Denny's or Friendly's. Great pancakes My husband and I have eaten here 3 times . They were packed and we only waited 5-10 minutes. Wasn't bad at all. Waitress came rite over and took our order. Food didn't take that look either.We use to own a breakfast place and one of the most important things is teamwork. I give it an A+. We will go back when we need to get breakfast. Nothing special, exceptionally long wait for server to even acknowledge our presence, once order was finally placed, it took way too long, 40 to 45 minutes, for our food to arrive which was really nothing to write home about - not terrible, but nothing special or noteworthy on any level on of our plates. (Three diners, all ordered something different, and one extra take home salad, which, by the way, was wrong although they did replace it but with an equally long wait.) Might give them one more shot, but probably not. We didn't find them overpriced, but considering the under par service and the fact we were impressed by nothing, don't know if I wouldn't call them a good value, either. Oh, and they serve the syrup in those little square packages which is one of my pet peeves. And the coffee is sadly typical of most chains: weak, watery and tasteless. read more

I've eaten twice now at Jimmy's Egg and both times have been wonderful. We had excellent service and our meals were delicious and came out quickly even though the restaurant was very busy. I recommend the Mexican omelette. The owner was there when we had breakfast today and came by to check on how everything was at our table. We found out she and her husband are a local couple. They seem very hands on and we are thrilled to have a locally-owned breakfast place to support! read more

Jimmy's Egg is a pleasant local place for breakfast. They serve their full menu at all times which is great! The food is very good and of better quality than most diner-type restaurants. We enjoy every visit. I recommend the chicken quesadilla as it is surprisingly flavorful. read more

I enjoyed my experience for the most part. The food was delicious I had the Almost Healthy Skillet and split an order of their Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. I was really pleased with my meal and we had a very friendly waitress. The only frustration we had was a long wait. We were offered to sit at the bar but when a family of 6 comes in we do not want to be dispersed through out the bar. The do not have great sitting for large parties. Only a few settings for big parties and the parties that were occupying those seats were finished and would not leave. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes for them to wrap up their conversations. Rude on their part not on the restaurant. The staff was trying everything possible to get them to leave, cleaned the table, gave them their bill, etc. I would go back again in the future. read more

Egg celent food and service. We used to frequent Snyder's restaurant however the food selection at Jimmy's egg is delicious and the service is fantastic. For what you pay you get a ton of food and it's not very expensive at all. I only hope this doesn't close down like all the other restaurants that have leased this location. read more

My family went here for breakfast. The waitress seated us and was very attentive. The food came out very quickly and was delicious. My sons had their S'mores pancakes and Wheat Cinnamon Roll pancakes. My husband had the Banana Fosters breakfast and I had the Classic combo. Serving size was large. Potatoes were crispy. Well, you know, it could be better. Went in Sunday morning around 8 AM, sat down and got coffee right away. Downhill from there. I was seated at the counter where I could see the kitchen. I watched orders come out of the kitchen and sit there waiting several minutes to be picked up. That explains why my food was just warm, not hot. Food was good though. Looks to me like there is a lack of leadership, some people were working really hard and looked stressed, while others were just milling around. She threw the check at the table and walked away and she also had a fit when I simply asked for a cup of coffee . Don't waste your time. Two stars are both for service. Our waitress was very attentive and speedy. The food, however, was tasteless. I love breakfast foods and couldn't have been more disappointed in Jimmy's Rotten Egg. My wife got a breakfast skillet and I ordered Jimmy's Garbage Breakfast which was appropriately named. Jimmy's egg is an awesome addition to the Clifton Park dining scene! I've been here at least a dozen times and it never disappoints. They close at 2pm, so get in early! It's the new place in town. Clifton Park has a tendency to flock to a new eatery in town. Jimmy's egg was no exception. The Sunday morning church crowd had the same idea we did after services this morning. We only had to wait about 10 minutes. I am not a fan of standing in the doorway ever but they had no alternative. Once we were seated the service was excellent. Very prompt very courteous and very personable. The coffee is good and refills come often. Everything we had was very good, although my scrambled eggs were colder than they should have been. If you have the word egg in the name of your establishment the best thing on my plate should be the eggs. I mentioned this to the waitress only after I had eaten them because I did not want to wait for them to redo my plate. There is no breakfast special and the average plate was $7.50. That said we enjoyed it enough or we will definitely go back. read more

Great having a neighborhood place for breakfast. I've been there a couple of times, weekends and during the week. They have a nice brisk business.They have regular breakfast fare and the corned beef hash is particularly good. I also enjoy the skillet beakfast which is a blend of a variety of onions, eggs, meats and more. My personal favorite is the Santa Fe skillet SANTA FE SKILLET Pulled pork grilled with onions, green chiles, crispy tortilla strips, melted jack and cheddar cheeses scrambled with two eggs on a bed of crispy hash browns topped with our spicy ahogada sauce and sliced avocado. Unfortunately i find there coffee really weak. I realize this is a personal taste...but I can drink coffee in just about anyplace. They have no plans for altering this as this is a franchise. I look forward to eating breatfast, but not having coffee with it is a bummer for me. I however, will still go back an hope they improve the coffee. read more

We stopped in on a Sunday (1/17/16) and the place was getting packed. Usually this is a sign that the place is New or Hot (good). We hoped it was due to the good food and customer service. We were sat within 10 mins of arriving, which was impressive being they started to get packed. As we sat I noticed a lot of hostility at the hostess table. I didn't pay it much attention as the place was jamming. I figured people were upset with the wait time to be seated. Well we were sat at 9:35am. I know this because I was on my smart phone checking the reviews out. At 11:30 I asked the waitress for the check. I had ordered a coffee and my GF had a water. She asked why for the check as our food we ordered at 9:40 hadn't arrived yet. I explained that we sat all this time with no food and people that were sat after us had eaten and left. She went to the manager and he excused our bill and granted us leave. I gave this place one Star because it was very apparent that the disgruntled customers at the front desk were experiencing the same issues. I don't believe this place deserves 3-4 Stars just yet. They don't even have their growing pains worked out. The manager on duty doesn't deserve the title manager. The place obviously doesn't have proper guidance or a routine. I can't blame the poor waitress, although she seemed unaware that we had been sitting there that long. She said it felt more like 45min+. That's acceptable?!?! Maybe avoid this place until they get their act together.... read more

Sat ourselves in a not to busy atmosphere. Waitress was very quiet and we could barely hear her when she spoke. She took our order and returned promptly with coffee and water. We placed our order for a kinda healthy skillet and a country skillet. She brought out 2 kinda healthy skillets and no country so my husband had to wait for his to be redone. My food was cold and I don't even mean warm it was cold. I was immediately disappointed. The potatoes under the egg were loaded with grains of table salt and were awful. NOT GOOD. No flavor to any of it and whatever they are calling the creamy cheese was more of an alfredo based sauce. My husbands skillet came out and another disappointment dry biscuit and also cold ok taste to the gravy but for $26.00 it was an unpleasant experience. His military discount took of .96 cents. We did not enjoy the experience and do not recommend it. We will not be going back. read more
